  • how much information is too much?

  • sting : the white bob marley !

  • IN THE RAWWWWWWWW SO COOLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!

  • Wow too much talent! He put this together all on his own 30 years ago. Always loved this song off Ghost. Where can I get a copy of all the Ghost In The Machine demos on cd so I can pretend I have a new Police album (those were the days...).

  • me I also wondered why; I think it is because he had to earn

  • Long time Police / Sting fan here, first ever record I bought was Outlandos d'amour. This is one of my fav tracks on Ghost in the Machine. Gotta love the Repetitive mantra like nature and Stings harmonies. Never heard before thanks! This would be cool to hear Stewart Copelands drums dubbed in top!

  • Nice picture of sexy Sting :)

  • I have a lot of live police stuff. Pm me and ill see if i can get you the links to the downloads.:)

  • the police were (and still would be if they hadn't broken up) an amazing band! i don't listen to much else. i have a playlist of 72 songs on my iPod, and out of those seventy two, 31 are by the police! Love them!

  • DOPE!!

  • Sting's mind is so fascinating, no wonder it was recently analyzed for scientific purposes. This 1981 demo is more exciting than most finished songs being released today and, as the previous comment states, completely relevant to today's world.

Thank you to ghostsonasong for leading me to this video.

  • I would have written a comment. I don't remember listening to this before, so it's a great find, and very important for me, because I have always loved the original track and because everything by The Police is vital for me. Thanx again.

And thank tou to POLICEchout, of course.

  • The Demo sounds like they were made for someone else But Sting Pulled it off good. It seems like the Late Michael Jackson sould have done a duet with the Police in the demo version but then again Sting and Jackson attract different audiences.

  • @xensboy analyzed? is he dead?

  • A song about the 21st century.

  • "Ghost In The Machine" is a great album, well, all The Police are great anyway... :-)

  • pretty basic funk riff, but the police had the musicianship to make it sound brilliant..underrated by critics at the time, but their music still sounds mint today..love the "album" tracks off their albums rather than the singles..stuff like "voices inside my head", "hungry for You", "world is running down" etc are superb rock/funk "workouts"

  • hungry for you is soo groovy :D

  • wow great demo were did you get this from? any chance of emailing em?

  • Sting is such a brilliant songwriter! Just saw them in concert two weeks ago and I'm still in a daze from the fantastic concert! Loved all 3 of them! so amazing! Andy and Stewart are Rock Gods!!!

  • ...MUSICIAN BASS SOUNDS GREAT!!

  • Very cool. These guys were always awesome in their live acoustic sets.

  • wow no drums and it rocks

  • great demo version indeed.... thanks for posting...!

  • Hey

How did you get your hands on those?

Is it possible to send all the demos over email to me? These are amazing!

  • awesome...!

  • This is 100% groovy and a very good lyrical and musical idea. The final version jams.

  • Thanks for posting this "gem". What i see is that not many people know what is a demo.

  • Your an ass! Stop bashing demo's not meant for public release. These are behind the scene gems inside the song writing process.

  • as a songwriter/guitarist/bassist/singer/recording "engineer", myself, I can tell you even these demos take a hell of a lot of work for one person. I don't expect the average music listener to realize that, but saying this sucks is lame in itself.

  • well put

  • Can you send these to me?

Get back to me please! :D

  • Agreed! If someone wants to go off on Sting for this, I say, let them try to do something better!

  • @taradead I agree, I am in the process of recording with my home crap and it's terrible. Nothing like this. This is really good for solo, especially at that time
