  • i miss the carachteristic basslines of Blacky! Maybe i never gave this album the chance it deserved...but i still think with Blacky's basslines it would be more brilliant.

  • The Outer Limits is the greatest thing Voivod has ever done and they've made many great things.

  • BAD ASS SONG..constantly hitting the right tempos and emphasis points. Guitar has just the right mix of kick ass "normal" rock and twisted, haunting dissonance.

  • R.I.P. Piggy, you are unique !

  • Canada - a land blessed by all gods of rock and metal ...

  • I wish Voivod was still this good!

  • One of my favorite songs.

  • Voivod is so hard to play on guitar ....:(

  • @daywalker137

    Haha you said it man!!

  • Voivod doing what they do best. Activating your adrenal glands. No other thrash/punk/metal band has ever left me feeling this excited after taking a beating. RIP PIGGY!

  • Voivod writing a love song? Yuk!

  • @castingtherunes Read the lyrics..

  • piggy is like the alex lifeson of metal.never waiste his time soloing like a madmen, instead he has an arsenal of riffs that are truly a work of genius.

  • i can see totally why does dave ghrol says hes influinced it sounds like the foo

  • one of the greatest and underrated album in the rock history!

  • El riff principal de "the storm I ride" de I es identico a este.

  • genius

  • this is the GREATEST voivod album!!!

  • @nicolany While my favorite is probably Killing Technology, I have to say that The Outer Limits is quite incredible. Right from the start, you feel like you're getting abducted by an alien space ship. Incredible atmosphere and guitar playing on this one!

  • good! _voivod_

  • Voivod is one of the most original bands ever. Not to many bands are close and has come close to doing what they do. Its a breath of fresh air. And from beginning until now they just continue to make creative and killer shit. Fucking love it. They are truly one of a kind and that to me is one of the best things about Voivod.

  • I've been listening to this song on repeat for hours straight, and I'm still not tired of it.

  • Best Voivod album

  • IM NOT AFRAID TO LIVE

  • PIGGY!!! R.I.P

  • I've listened to a million bands --THIS ALBUM IS A MASTERPIECE. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ENJOY METAL, THIS ALBUM HAS THE GREATEST GUITAR SOUND OF ALL TIME. Okay, I'll stop yelling now, but, seriously, listen to the tones coming out of Piggy's guitar. This album is a journey to metal heaven

  • @owlsrfun47

I agree with you. I've been fascinated with Piggy's guitar tone on this album for years!

  • Take some metal...inject some science, a tad of philosophy, and a pinch of alien. There ya go...Voivod!

  • @Straynger And Canadians, can't forget that.

  • intro still gets me after all these years

  • love bands with enough talent and daring to just do there own thing. sad there arent many of em.

  • @THEJAMIEO Then don't listen.

  • @THEJAMIEO suck me but quickly, man of weakness....

  • this was a great great voivod album...better than the shit theyve been pumping out recently....rip piggy

  • unique, brilliant guitaring

  • @SuperUnbeliever Damm right!

  • Voivod was a very good band long time ago. I would say their first 4 albums. This new sound really sucks ass and has nothing original. It is more like an emo band.

  • BEST VOIVOD ALBUM EVVVER!!!!

  • @nicolany definitely not bad! :))

  • these guys make me fuckign proud to say im from quebec \m/

  • when i hear this stuff, i cant help but say god damn, im proud to be from quebec ! :D

  • Weak stuff.Nothingface is one of the best albums ever.If you compare the later stuff.AHhhhhhhhhhhh...no comparison please!!!!

  • wow they did something good!

  • my favorite Voivod album!

  • This song is just so good. It makes me move and laugh and do uncontrolled things. And it's not even the best on that album. "The Outer Limits" is display of serious talent.

  • I think this was their best album

  • Phobos all the way ! But this one is great nonetheless

  • i love voivod. all of their albums!

the way i like them all is to listen to them as different metal styles. If you are tired because the todays shitty music or the really good, but too aggressive thrash/death etc then this world takes me to an unknown universe! don't care wich era from them (the early chaos thrash or this newer prog/rock)!!! Hail to Voivod!

  • @HUNRainmaker

A1 to that. Voivod always did their own thing and never made the same album twice. Ageless and priceless.

  • My favorite VoiVod record. Amazing band.

  • voivod were better earlier on though

  • this is alright!!

  • you can really hear the punk influence

  • It's thrash metal... of course lol

  • yeah but i guess it just stands out a little more in this band :p

  • before its be thrash metal

  • Great Song

  • can somebody please repost moonbeam rider and le point noir cuz i think the whole album was on here but alot of the songs are getting removed and its pissing me off

  • i think i might.

  • yeah know what you mean WMG are just a bunch of assholes.

  • i've been hearing about these guys for years but never actually got around to checking them out.

  • Canadian MOTHER FUCKER!!!

  • Voivod doesnt have a bad album simple as that

  • My favorite song ;)

  • Why do people call this Voivod's worst album? I'm seriously digging this.

  • they dont. this is a fan favorite from what ive heard.

  • Classic!

  • I still have my 3d glasses

  • i want them too....

  • rrrrrrrooooooöööööäääääääärrr!!

  • i hate it when people call that the worst voivod album : (

  • fuck them!!bRrröööaaarrr!!! is probably my favorite Voivod album, their thrashier by so far, but don't think I'm one of those retards that only dig "old" Voivod, I think Outer Limits and Angel Rat are the shit, my perfect Voivod sound is in Dimension Hatröss, still thrashy, yet proggressive and unique....fuck, Voivod is the shit.

  • @BLACKSABBATH0HM its my favorite Voivod album .... d'un fan de TR Quebec

  • The BEST Voivod album! Masterwork!

  • @BLACKSABBATH0HM there is no worst voivod album xd

i could say that angel rat, infini and the s/t are not of my like, but being a great voivod fan, and knowing how complex are, and knowing how their music must give you a deep personal feeling to actually start enjoying them (specially on the releases post killing technology), you cannot hate one single album of them, its just like if someone told me that nothingface is crappy and slow

  • @BLACKSABBATH0HM I agree, it was a fantastic album.

  • @BLACKSABBATH0HM : It's the only Voivod album I have up to now and it's a SUPERB album.

Thrash metal always sounds to me like it's four musicians racing to see who can get to the end of a song first.

Might as well just roll a metal dustbin down some stone steps, record the sound and loop it around for 40 minutes - much cheaper than buying a thrash metal album! :-)

  • I met piggy when Jason joined in 2004 or so. They were all nice as hell . I've wondered since then if piggy new he was sick. He was nice but very quiet. It doesn't matter all I know is he is in my top 3 favorite lead players ever

    Alex Scolnick

    Piggy

    James Mankey

  • Haha, I met VoiVod also, back in 1993. They finally let me in backstage (I insisted, like some groupie), and Snake was smoking a joint and told me he was "getting some inspirations"...

What lovely, humbly guys they are.

  • who did bass on this record?

  • Pierre St-Jean. He also did the US tour for the album.

  • thanks! as a bassplayer, I love this bassline! :D

  • This is a brilliant record -really brilliant!

  • We've lost Denis D'amour. Nobody can replace Piggy. He was the heart of Voivod.

I don't care what anyone says, he blew the doors off anyone. I'm just glad I got to meet him in my lifetime.

  • I agree, man. Voivod has never been the same without that guy.

  • you met him? how was he like?

  • He was a nice fella, I met him and Away when they came to Seattle for the Negatron tour.

  • the most underrated guitar player ever!

  • taufactor piggy kind of reminds me of adam jones from tool, tool would not be the same without adam jones they both use lots of techniques

  • @taufactor That's great! I would have really loved to meet Piggy having gotten into Voviod later in lmy musical life.

He really is irreplacable. A true virtuoso.

  • wait a second... was there a sludgy period for Voivod???

cuz if there was one i'd definitely check it out....any album suggestions here?

  • Man, are you in luck, Voivod does have a Sludgy period, and fucking trippy/ultra-heavy music. It's their heaviest album, Phobos. I'll have the whole uploaded by tomorrow.

  • Cool album, bought it when i was a teenager solely because of the album artwork. The CD sleeve came with 3-D glasses and had great illustrations, not to mention the awesome music.

  • a true underrated masterpiece, fix my heart,le pont noir, lost machine and jack luminous was my fav kick ass!!

  • hell yeah!

  • What An Amazing Fuckin Song

  • I miss this Voivod sound... from Nothingface to Outer limits through masterpiece Angel Rat the band was at their creative and inspirated top... I cant listen to last sludgy nu-metal albums... I put on THOSE 3D glasses and watch the sun listening... @°@

  • My favorite Voivod album.

  • This one was the first song I heard from Voivod and i fell in love with it immediately

  • same!

  • I'M NOT AFRAID TO LIVE!!!

  • @Angmagssalik When I saw them in 1994 (on this album's tour), I was in the front row, singing all the lyrics. They opened with this tune and when I sang those lyrics ("I'm not afraid to live") along with Snake with my fists thrust into the air, we made eye contact and he looked totally fucking stoked that I was as into his lyrics as he was!

  • Great band.

    Great song.

This album, plus Anel Rat, and Nothingface are un fucking believable.

    Their peak, in my opinion.

    RIP Piggy.

    Love the VOD!!

  • I thought Nothingface was great, then they came out with this album. Aces high.

  • voivod at its best!!!

  • why are they so underrated? also negatron is even more underrated, which is my fave album.

  • This and Neurosis is the stuff that Mastodon is made of. Great band, far ahead of their time.

  • My favouritest album from them!! This album sounds quite different from the others of Voivod.

    Great album, great song

  • I wonder if Devin Townsend was influenced by these guys

  • eraseragenda took the words out of my mouth this sounds like devin townsend but it's faster and heavier

  • Great fucking song, great fucking album. The best guitar tone I've ever heard!!!!!!!!

  • celtic frost developed their music too;
