  • Hey Guy with the AWESOME accent - your mom's rice and peas is the most authentic way of rice and pease cooking that I have seen on youtube yet. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't delete this. I need to come back often to reference it. I'm an American who is getting married soon and my fiancee is a Jamaican-American; I want to learn how to cook for him. .....Thank you for this video and one more thing: Tell your mom that she absolutely ROCKS!!!! P.S. - Idk why it's called Rice and Peas but it just is.

  • @TheRealSpicey haha, thanks! I shall let my mum know :) Maybe you'll have to do a video to show us how u get on :-p

  • thank you for sharing this, nice video. peace.

  • Wow that looks delicious.

I've not seen that before, and i am still a bit confused about why you are calling the beans peas.. but it looks great.. i'm gonna attempt to make that later today i think.

& Your mum was great on camera.. Hi Mum!!

    ~TJ.

  • @tabloidjunk thanks! Yea I still don't quite know why it's called 'rice and peas' instead of rice and beans lol.. I'll tell her you said hi :-p

  • Interesting way of doing it, i would normally add the beans with the juice and coconut into the rice and season it. Not like to wash the rice?

  • @Kaotik2k8 hey, yea she usually makes a point of washing the rice first but I think the 'pressure' of being filmed and me asking questions all the way through just got it a lil messed up, lol. Next time :-p

  • @locksleynet actually washing the rice removes the nutrients

  • More vids like this please! Can't believe you managed to get your mum involved :o)

  • @nickz40 yea I'll get her to show some more 'cooking tips' haha. I can't think what else she can show that other folks might not know how to cook.. Hmm..

  • I'm craving it right now too! lol

  • I love this meal! lol we have it at my house sometimes

  • Awesome! Who cooks it?

  • My mom as-well. Nothing like cooking from your parents lol
