Metal Storm is only the gun, not the automated system. Korea is actually working on an even more advanced sentry turret system that can track movements in infra-red very, very well. Metal Storm is nothing more than one or more muzzleloaders, with multiple bullets and powder charges loaded into each barrel. It does seem like a good idea, but capacity is quite low, and reloading is not easily accomplished. Much like HK's underwater derringer, the barrels must be changed to reload.
