For those idiots who think aikido cant be applied to mma, notice the difference it made in fights such as Anderson Silva vs Belfort or Machida vs Couture. Even in sport or street fighting - timing, entering and exiting out of ranges are very important. There are alot of people who are stupid to think you cant apply any of this to MMA cage fighting. There are different things you can take from any martial arts to add to your arsenal. Everyone is different and you need a master to teach you.

I've seen people go to sleep in jiu jitsu, get arms broken in judo, get kicked into unconciousness in TKD, and yet all I have yet tosee from aikido is people just running around jumping all over the place like its gymnastics. And will all do respect it is definatly an art and certainly couldn't just up and do it, but on the other hand its just not effective combat

@xmattxdavisx Aikido is a form (slightly different) of martial arts the Samurai used called Akijitsu(think that's right) If it was good enough for an elite warrior class that lasted for 1000 years. Did you get that? Japan's soul occupation for 1000 years was war and preperation for war. It is the only culture in existance that can make such a claim. If it was used effectively in combat for a millenium, I think it's more than effective in a bitch ass cage fight.
