  • I thin they all have different settings/resistance etc. So its easier to add the sensor that comes with the dial. i got a small adaptor sump plug that allows you to fit the sensor in there then just swap sump plugs. Saves fiddling around with adaptors and means the original sensor stays in place in case the car's computer uses it for fuelling purposes. You can use the oil gauge connector to power/ light the new dial, but really need to put new wires in place for the sensor. I can help you

  • i ordered the same oil gauge as you but now im affraid as its not a direct replacement ill fuck up something somewhere lol isnt the cables from the original oil gauge the same from the sump etc

  • I have same car as you (but 2000). In order to light them using LEDs you really need to open them up and scrape away coating inside around the numbers etc to make the blue shine through. The oil is a dirrect raplcement slimwedge 12V LED, but the clock is a BAS7 metal bottomed LED. I went for aftermarket LED gauges. They pretty much hook up into wiring which is left when you remove old gauges..more or less. The oil needs the fitting of a sensor on oil sump, then wired to cabin

  • @mmd249 cant the plasma oil gauge connect using the original cables or are they a different type of reading? i suck when it comes to playing with engines lol

  • awesome ye done mine now but i love your gauges but how do they connect up as i have a mk2 console but it has old clocks as its the platinum silver 1999 special edition so the original clock and oil run on bulbs instead of leds and look really dim :(

    are they easy to fit

  • Yes Kevin. They are 501 bulbs same as side lights. Bright blue LED ones can be purchased from ultraleds.co.uk

  • do you have blue mirror lights also? if yes where can i buy them as i cant find the correct replacement
