  • I have an actual black goldfish. It's not a black moor. I once had 2 black moor goldfish. one was 6 years old too. Then I had to leave them for a few days and ask my brother to feed them when I was gone. He fed them reptile food that my turtle ate. 10 fish died while I was gone. Only 2 remain: 2 common goldfish that are now 5 years old. I'll post a video on my aquariums soon. Great video though.

  • I love black moors so much. they are seriously my favorite fish. i have 2 named Bubbles and Flynn.

  • humm never seen that before african dwarf frogs are tropical normaly cant go with gold fish so first for me

  • i love these fish......... i seen another black moor fish video the fish is. 10 TIMES THE SIZE OF THAT LIKE THE SIZE YOUR HAND...NO LIE

  • wooow que ojos tan grandes!!! mis telescopicos no tienen los ojos taaaaaaaaaan salidos

  • SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!

I am going to buy African Dwarf Frogs and i have a tank and stuff for them. All i need to know is, can the frogs live in water that has an aquasafe GOLDFISH water conditioner? or is there a substitute that i need to purchase specifically for frogs? PLEASE REPLY! :)

  • I have an African dwarf frog, and I wanted to get some goldfish but I didn't think they'd get along this video proved me wrong!

  • i have a gold fish thats white its name is jaws since it attacks food like jaws lol

  • I have a Black Moor named PISCES :D C:

  • I have a Black Moor named WILBER :D

  • i have a Black Moor named Buggy

  • I've been getting a few frequently asked questions repeatedly

Please take a moment and look through comments - also, the public library has books on the proper care of fresh water aquarium fish

  • I have a black moor named Shadow and I put him in an aquarium (he was in a fishbowl before). He hasn't been eating much lately. Does he have stress? Please do not say he need's to adjust because it was about a week ago. Thanks in advance.

  • im gettin a fish like that for christmas in a huge aquiarm with a normal gold fish and posibly a frog can it be and kind off frog or only a sertion one and do any of them need a light in there ??? please reply

  • can some plz tell me if a light is really important with these fish e.g. if its life or death or just makes them more comfortable plz reply asap

  • If you have live plants in aquarium they need special lighting to survive. A light in the daytime is a good idea to simulate daylight. Turn it off at night so they can sleep.

  • how long have you had your black moor hes lovely

  • My dwarf froggy likes to climb on my cleaner magnet when it's up near the surface and stick his face out of the water. It's so cute! <3

  • im getting a black moor and a ryukin for my tank im getting soon

  • My blackmoor is called Miz named after one of my favourite wwe wrestlers lol it really suits him. Miz just stares at you for ages with his big cute eyes xD He's lovely!

  • I have a black moor named Midnight

  • I have a black moor too he is gangster and his name is BLACK JACK

  • wtf lol you stole my goldfish name hes a black moor to but i got his name from the taco bell commercial X D

  • isnt dat frog poisenous? is it safe 2 keep frogs and goldfsih together never seen it done before ?, looks great tho would love 2 do it myself

  • Dwarf frogs aren't at all poisonous. Black moors are extremely gentle so they're ideal tank mates for these frogs.

Keeping frogs and freshwater fish together is perfectly fine. They like a place to hide every one in a while, though.

  • I LOOOOOV IT! They're SOOO cute!

  • Nice tank I have some frogs to that live in my betta tank I was just curious what do you feed your frogs?

  • nice fish, i got 2 black moor fish the other day, i have a 10 gallon tank, will that be big enough?

  • Sure, w/proper filtration and basic aquarium maintenance

  • AAW cute! Black moors are my favorit fish too! I have one in my tank, and he's my favorit baby! sweet frogs too, I didnt know frogs could live with fish... do you think i could have a frog in my tank? I have 1 black moor, one ryukin and 2 common goldfish ( i'm not sure, maybe 1 of them is a comet..)

  • sooo cute

  • hiya can some1 help me i have a blk moor and my best m8 calls it a boy and another m8 calls it a girl and i dunno wot sex it is i also have 2 normal fantail fish i dunno if they boy or girl

  • wow were are all the bubbles? lol

  • no bubbles required as long as you have a pump circulating the water for maintaining fresh oxygen in tank

  • m0zelmas not put crabs their very aggsive! but i guess u could keep all commity fish with them. and small alge eaters

  • i wan tto get a 30 gallon fish tank and put in like 2-3 dwarf frogs not clawed and wat type of fish can i put in with them maybe alge eaters crabs shrimp. can someone help

  • depends on what crab. if it's a fiddler crab then you HAVE to take care of him as good as a store does, he'll die within a week.

because that's what happened to mine.

  • lol i almost thought that wasnt water til i saw the fish..

  • those are good fishs

  • i had 2 black goldfishes but they´re dead :(

  • do the goldfish and frogs go good together?

  • If you're unable to keep watch over them - I wouldn't recommend mixing them since the goldfish are faster than the frogs at getting food

  • so your frog eats good with the gold fish in there? cause im not sure if my frog is getting its food beofre the fish eat it

  • Just keep an eye on them to make sure they are all being fed

  • How do you feed the african dwarf frog when goldfish are in the same tank?

  • My personal technique was to wait until dark to feed them. ADF's are nocturnal.

  • thanks good info

  • I love the noise off your parrots lol and is that dove or wood pidgeon i can hear

  • doves, finches & my Indian Ringneck parakeet provide all the background noise ;-)

I also have a vid where you can see my bird talking and playing peek-a-boo

  • aww cool nice fishies, problem wid blackmoors is there soft and dont last vry long, but myn have lsted almost 3 years !

  • 3? i hav seen black moor that hav been there for 7 years

  • What do African Dwarf Frogs do to Goldfish? I want to add one in my tank and I have 6 common goldfish, 1 common Plec, 1 C Fantail, and 1 Black Moor. What can be the problems?

  • Sometimes they just aren't compatible (like people)

  • Really, so basically it's based on luck? The goldfish attacks the frog or vise versa?

  • idk what luck has to do with it

  • how big can the african dwarf frog grow

  • same size as vid

the females are slightly bigger than males (look plump)

  • can u house african dwarf frogs nd black moors with out fightin or anything like that???

  • Mines get along fine, however, there are people who have had problems

  • seet i might end up tring that

  • ima put it as my favorits

  • thx

  • this video is so cool because I just got a moor goldfish (whos named Smithers) as well as an african dwarf frog (named Prince) and I out them together today ...I love them they are so adorable !

  • Is this in a coldwater tank cos i was thinking of getting some for my tank but heard they are for tropical tank?

  • Black moors can get by just fine in a room temperature tank and/or tropical water conditions. Just not in cold water. Only the regular goldfish (non-fancy) thrive in colder environments.

  • i hav a new 1 it's a calico shubukin

  • wow you're always getting new ones!

  • thanks

  • now i just wanna buy mollys

  • why's that?

  • I've had one in 14 degrees for 11 years.

  • lmao, i love your parrot.

  • it looks like the blakmoor is floatingin midd air

  • ace ventura. it is you. lol. i got two black moores and some other gold fish but thats it. i filmed my fish but it doesn't sound like a zoo. how do you sleep. i guess it becomes backround noise.

  • Come now, be nice ;-)

All animals quiet down completely and are in bed before sundown so now worries about sleeping soundly. They are better behaved than a lot of kids I know!

  • ha ha. kewl. then everyone should trade in there kids for them. :o). i would. lol. but i don't have any kids for that same reason.

  • HAHA you bird said Hola' Que tal.

    It was around 00.34

  • He doesn't know spanish

I think he was saying "Oh, hello"

  • Haha. Really?

  • very nice eyes! one question...do you have any idea why my black moore (i've had him for about 7 months) when i bought him, he was completely black. now, he's completely white except for his fins. any idea? please respond

  • It's genetics. And food choices can also affect color, although not as much as the DNA fingerprint. Some will turn orange, others rusty, and some become completely white with time. While others remain black their entire life - there's nothing you can do about their ultimate appearance.

  • wow...thanks...

  • I like your black moor. I just got a baby one for my 20gal and he keeps my medium redcap company. I'm hoping that mine doesn't fade to brown as he ages. Would it be a correct guess that this tank is in a pet store. The animal noises and choice to not have gravel kind of makes me think that.

  • I've been told my place sounds like a zoo!

I have singing birds, talking birds and cooing birds.

  • How big is your tank? Thanks for your quick response. Guess you a night owl as I am

  • Take a look at all the previous comments - we covered temp. requirements & many other things related to fancy goldfish vs. standard goldfish ;-)

  • Just wondering, how did you establish good bacteria in this,elegant,non-gravel, tank? Thought cycling required gravel in aquarium.

  • Excellent point

The idea is to have enough surface area to establish & maintain good bacteria. My filter unit has a large substrate compartment close to the water's surface. And by providing decorations such as plastic plants and other decor, that will also serve as an anchor for bacteria to grow (as well as on the aquarium glass). That's why they say it's not a good idea to clean out the whole tank at once, since this method will eliminate a good portion of these beneficial bacteria!

  • Do you think I can do what you did in a 30 gallon tank with a pinguin bio-wheel filter? Also those silk plants?

  • They are plastic plants

Those bio-wheel filters work beautifully for me! My tank isn't that big so I don't know if you can get away with doing what I did. I have seen some smooth crystal clear type pebbles that almost make an aquarium sparkle & cleaning the bottom would be an easier task since you can see any debris through the clear pebbles (just an idea).

  • hey i got a new fish its a ryukin

  • How many do you have now?

  • um 4 cuz they all died again and my redcap is floating on the surface of the water but it got well again

  • I love your set up. It is simple and clean. Are those live plants? If so what are they?

  • Thanks

I had problems in the past with live plants. They can introduce harmful organisms to an otherwise healthy environment. Then if I did, I would have to increase the light intensity & right now I'm practically melting with this heat, don't think I can manage extra voltage/energy.

And although gravel/rocks make an aquarium look beautiful - it is a haven for parasites, like ick, and provides a breeding substrate in addition to hiding other pesky bugs/snails.

  • Nice Video, i just love Black Moors, so wiggly and dumb looking you just gotta love em, i have 4 in a tropical tank i've acclimatised along with lots of other little fish. Dwarf frogs are pretty thick too, they can only eat things that are slower and dumber than they are so that pretty much leaves blood worms and wood, i tend to feed mine blood worms, they werent very fond of the wood. check out my aquarium vid to see what else i have in tank.

  • I think they look rather innocent, sweet & beautiful (not dumb looking). They 'waddle' about the entire aquarium in an elegant fashion.

  • ok so they dont look dumb but they dont half act it at! the number of times i've had to help one of mine spit out a piece of gravel that its wedged in its gob or help the out of an awkward position around a piece of bogwood is unbelievable! maybe its not all moors that are a little clueless, it might just be mine lol.

  • Goldfish need colder water than African Dwarf frogs.

  • Good point

However, these are 'Fancy' goldfish & have slightly different temperature requirements than the standard goldfish.

Even so, ADF are quite hardy and adapt readily given an acclimation period

  • I've had experience with African Clawed frogs, but we kept them in a tropical tank. The goldfish were in a room temperature tank. Fancy goldfish can't handle a frozen pond, and they really don't hand the extreme cold well (I've seen them in ponds with common goldfish and comments. They look miserable!)

  • Oh! African Clawed Frogs are completely different than African Dwarf Frogs. I believe they are a whole lot bigger. I only have ADF's. That's true though, fancy goldfish cannot tolerate colder environments. Other than that, ADF & fancy goldfish coexist nicely in similar temperatures. As a matter of fact, they are usually kept together in pet shops.

  • Yeah, but you have to make sure the fancy ones get enough to eat. They just can't swim fast enough!

  • Funny you should mention that because I find it more challenging keeping the fancy ones at bay so my ADF's can get enough to eat! The frogs just aren't that keen when it comes to mealtime (in my case).

  • Well, they seem to be working well together. African clawed frogs get rather large and can live 40 years. I gave mine away!

  • Oh! That's a very long lifespan

  • Goldfish have been known to bite off ADF's limbs...

  • That's the 1st time I hear that

Black moors are incapable of swimming fast since their bodies are far from being streamlined - thus, not a predatory fish. They also don't have teeth to bite with. My aqua pets are coexisting quite nicely.

  • Cool ^^

Goldfish are sometimes agressive to other fish, like they killed three apple snails once. I've heard that they are bad with the frogs, but I guess this kind is too slow. I'll have to remember that. :)

  • Very true.

My Black moor is 5" long and I wouldn't dream of having him in with DAFs!

  • It's all a matter of using good old common sense when talking about size

  • Sounds like a zoo in there

  • It gets much louder throughout the day... I'd go crazy if it was quiet! ;-)

  • Are the other sick moors alright now?

  • yeah der r just 3 of em right now im feeding them

    growth food

  • i just bought a new fish today it's a leopard molly

it like's to bite my black moor and my new fish can't eat my growth food

  • im getting a black moor, they all have different personalities they remind me of dogs....ps i have a golfish with googley eyes like that,i think its called a telescopic golfish

  • They are customer favorites!

  • ur black moor is so cute it has very big eyes i hav 4 of those 1 is color orange

  • Do you have videos of them to share?

  • hey my 2 blackmoor just died 2day i dont know why im so sad all of my fishes die dis summer so i hav 5 fishes left

  • That is sad :(

Summer temperatures reduces the available oxygen in H2O and can be increased by adding an airstone (in addition to your filtration system). Might be what happened - if you see them gasping at surface. White salty grains on their bodies indicates disease.

  • ya dey hav dat on der scales wen dey died i use dat air stone wen i don't hav an aquarium yet anyway thanks and now my baby goldfish is starting to die it's not floating well wen it swims it swims up side down u know ur so smart at fishes like my friend thanks for the info

  • Sounds like they are all suffering from an 'ick' infection. You can buy medicine for that at the pet shop. I treated that in the past with increasing concentrations of aquarium salt & was successful-but you would be better off with medications. The fish swimming upside down could have a swim bladder related disorder (their plump & short shape is to blame). Good Luck!

  • hey maria did u watch that oz and the black moor u know that person is so mean she ate the black alive

  • I stay away from graphic videos

Did your other moors bounce back?

  • oh me i don't have any videos it's hard to download our internet is a little slow

  • I would luv to know what kinda bird is talking in the background and can ya put up the footage of that talker. He/she says "hello" in this video. I luv the frog though. got 1 myslef.

  • Thanks. You can either take a look at my channel to find my talking bird, or from this point you can click on my playlists.

  • i hav 8 fishes 4 of those 1 is orange, 1 redcap, 1 baby fantail goldfish it's color is white & orange, and 1 pearl scale

  • The black moore is soo nice i have one the same

  • They are sincerely sweet. When I introduce a new fish, they are not aggressive towards the newcomer.

  • u know wat something funny about my fishes wen dey wer still alive, wen i buy a new fish dey like 2 put der heads on d new fishes but and chase it

  • Too funny - happened to my fish also but it's not aggressive at all when you compare it to what others are capable of.

  • hey how's your very cute black moor

  • They're doing great! Although one of my dwarf frogs died yesterday at the ripe old age of 4.5yrs :(

  • oh that's so sad

  • hey maria i just bought 2 new fishes in seperate pet stores it's a red comet and a big blackmoor it's so round

  • Too bad you can't videotape & post em - I'd like to see them!

  • hey maria i just bought a new fish it's a baby pearlscale

  • What do they look like?

  • they look like fat sort of guppies and i bought a new pearlscale just today again!

  • hey how's ur fishes and dwarf frogs oh do u have a black butterfly it's a big black moor

  • Oh yeah, I've seen those swollen type of guppies

All my fish, including the dwarf frogs, are undergoing antibiotic treatment. I lost the one I told you about but the rest seem to be responding well to the medication (Melafix) which is the least toxic on non-fish (frogs). I recommend it for future use, hopefully you'll never need it though.

  • awesome i want a black moor so bad i no they can get big but about how big is average?

  • Your username reminded me of the Silver Sun Pickups! Back on track, I've read that they can get as big as 1 foot, maybe even more. It all depends on proper aquarium maintenance (pH levels, O2 levels, etc.). Many people think goldfish are easy to take care of in a small bowl. Not! They require a lot of oxygenation & if kept with many other fish, a lot of water changes as well. Aquarium salt enhances their immune system and respiratory function.
