little tip that can easily make the muzzle flash look more realistic: select the muzzle flash footage and set the blending mode to add, or just add a glow and fiddle with the settings to get a similar or identical effect, but with more control.

@ZooYorkVenom In all honesty , you can achieve the war look quite nicely in action shots by thes guidelines . When a soldier is running be sure to either follow behind them with the camera at the height of their torso or do a creative shot from the side of where the soldier is going towards. You need to either be in the action and down on with the soldiers or be where the battle is going . Another great way is to use ' dolly ' shots . An action scene needs dolly shots and follow shots .

@gpensky not so much there is still flash, pretty much all a suppressor does is catches the compressed air left from the bullet and it gives rrom for the air to expand thats why you sometimes see these massive suppressors, nothing you can do about the bullet breaking the sound barrier, so there is still a little hint of flash

Although it might be unrealistic If your going to use Muzzle flash you should try lighting up key areas around it. Add a little light around the face body or hands. Its just a more visually entertaining thing for movies. and with the flashes add some smoke coming from the barrel. Just looks better. But that's just my opinion.
