Video is well made. Good explanation of the why and not just the what. Sage advice and focus on the small details which make this exercise so difficult. The fact that the review of the Crossfit kipping technique is unbiased adds to credibility of the author. A follow-up video of the muscle-up using rings would be icing on the cake.
I love this tutorial... its the second time i watched it ...and tomorrow i will go to practice high pull ups...and i hope to get that muscle up in 40 days... thats my goal... number is different for every body... i train 8 times per week...
And one more time, i live your videos .... thx you very much, i hope you had good time in peru and sory for the bad things that happen in your place.
Dude, best tutorial I've seen so far, after watching this I got my first muscle up within like 10 minutes. I appreciate it bro keep up the great work!
In my opinion, this video was not very instructional: The audio was difficult to hear, and there was no talk of technique and only a total of 30 seconds of actual muscle ups in the entire video.
After 3 months of hard training i've finally managed to do 3 pseudo muscle ups in a row (with an arm before the other). I hope to do a proper muscle up in 2 months. Thank u very much Arash!
@Gabi24492 I did a muscle up when i coud do 5 muscle ups with one arm before the other. And that was a few days ago for 3 weeks i tried to do it and i did it!And today i did 2 muscle ups in a row :)
After 3 months of hard training i've finally be able to do 3 pseudo-muscle ups (the ones in which you go first with one arm). I hope to get the full ones in 1 or 2 months more. Thank you very much Arash!

This is a progression: (easiest) kipping muscle-up, fast momentum pull-up with speed, (hardest) very slow - strength throughout the movement. A lot of people can do the first 2 levels and few will train enough to build strength throughout the whole range of motion.
awesome mate, ur a good tutor, off to practice again now, i begin royal marines training in 2 weeks time, gotta nail this before i start just for fun!!!!!
thank you for this! i'm a girl trying to learn how to do muscle ups. i got all the pull ups down but didn't know what technique i was missing for the muscle up. i looked so retarded. but thanks! when i finally get it, ima make a vid response to this =)
yeah homie. I like this tutorial. I'm now more motivated to get a nicer camera. I never tried this move and it looks like you need strong for arms for this. Mine are pretty weak and skinny. I was never really impressed when gymnasts did this because they did it so easily and plus the bar bends so I assumed that helped them.
Hello! I have a couple questions for you. You obviously have a great passion for exercise and fitness, so i was wondering where do you get your knowledge from in this feild? Do you go to school for this? also, have you ever had any bad injuries that have affected your training and how did you deal with that?
Thanks man! Listen, could you make a video on how to increase muscle mass on biceps and deltoids using bodyweight training (or maybe a dumbbell). Does it take slow movement to increase mass?
Also, do you recommend to take a day in and a day out of training so the muscle rests, or you need to train every day to increase mass?
just wondering man, have you ever had experience with nots in the bicep or tendinitis of the bicep? i have been dealing with an issue for several weeks now, just wondering if you have any advice.
Cool, I find it easier becuase the only way I've been getting out of my club swimming pool is by doing something like that. Water may make you lighter but even when I get to a set of bars I can still pull myself all the way up without going on one arm then the other.
i love your analogy where you compare learning muscle ups to baking a cake or a whole grain muffin...WHAT? haha no i really enjoyed the video and it helped a lot. thanks
This demo about the muscle up is better than crossfits. This is a fantastic explanation and video. You're right, there are a lot of people that hate on the kipping pull up but what they don't know is that it has it's rewards as it's an explosive pull up. You're still pulling the same weight and same distance. You're just doing it faster and more! That's power and what's wrong with that? Great vid.
Thanks! I will start putting up more practical workouts soon!I understand that the acrobatics arent useful for the general population trying to get in shape. More basics coming up! :)
Excellent. At the moment I'm interested in planches, push-ups using only the arms. I've seen a very good tutorial on form and how to work up to them, but I'm interested in anything you have to say about them, or input, etc. I think that planches are about the hardest calisthenic to work up to, besides handstand pushups and variations of it. I've gotten to the point where I'm just about balancing myself on my hands, by the way.
@packman2008ger then you should build more strenght..95 kg? what a lame excuse, I've seen guys of 100kg doing a human flag, check marcubsbondi channel.

@packman2008ger your strength should be proportionate to your weight.
Unless some of your 95kg is dead weight (ie not functional muscle) then why shouldn't you be able to do it? ('I'm too heavy' is not an answer)
Rubbish excuse that people with low relative strength make.
