The same thing is happening to me. Graphic glitches and it starts to run slow. But it ain't no biggie, since there's no point in switching between 50 and 60 hz while playing.

One thing that is kinda bothering me tho is that last time i played some sound effects got turned down really low. For example the passing and tackling sounds in NHL 94. Really strange. First i thought it was the scart but nope, It still came and went. Then i flicked the modswitch back and forth and now it seems to work.

Finally got my PAL MDII modded. Didn't have to send it abroad, i have a friend that knows his way around electronics. He made it happen NP and now im SO happy. This is changes everything, i can never go back to 50hz now. A few of my favorite games, like Sonic and NHL 94 really gets kick out of this mod. Especially NHL, which was kinda slow in 50 hz. Hope this vid will open the eyes of more ppl in EU that collect and play older game systems. It's very much worth it.

So all my PAL games can be run at 60hz with this mod I take it? Just checking, because I have a system exactly like that one in the post (Asian PAL-D with switches)

Yeah it'll make the games full screen and in the case of games like Sonic the game will run faster also :-)

Only if the cartridge has the English text contained within the ROM- like Mercs does for example.

It may work with games like Shining Force (if that was a multi region cart) but the more obscure Jap RPG's then it wont... Hope this helps :-)

that's incredibly generous to allow you to auction that console off. it's the same mod that i have on my megadrive but i know i paid more that that to have it done, the prices are very good.

i would go in for this comp but honestly i want an unmodified jap console boxed like yourself.

strangely enough i took the plunge and did the mod myself today! as i was sick of the slow games, i made a pigs ear of it mind but they work :D i have no soldering skills and it was tough going so had i known of this guy before i set out doing it i would have had him do it instead lol its a funny old world.

That's really great of Geff! I'm not interested in the competition as I want this done to my Japanese PAL console but I'll wait until I have a bit of cash and ask Geff if he could sort that out for me.

That Language switch confused me at first but it's pretty great what it did to that Mercs game! Does that just change the title?

Yeah he's a top guy mate! He'll do a good job for you when you have the cash matey :-)

The language switch changes all the text in the game also, very handy! Only works in multi-region carts but its still great- i.e. if you try it in Twinkle Tale it wouldnt work as it was a Jap only release. :-)

I thought that might be the case, with it switching the text to English, I should have guessed that really...cheeky buggers though, that means they made one board with all languages and just shoved them into different shaped carts!

Yeah in a lot of cases it was just the packaging that was different- same ROM inside! If I can pick up a mint Jap MD at some point I might get my current one modded just for the purpose of playing RPG's etc..!

Hey, i had no idea about this' slow' 50hz thing.. i feel that i may not be getting the full potential out of my games now. Especially all my Jap shooters (since shooters & speed maketh the game).

To be honest mate it's nice to donate something that will bring a smile to someone's face- all too often I see people sending things but often wonder whether it's simply to get more subscribers.

Yeah you might be surprised in the difference at some of your shooters at 60hz!

I beleive that Streets of Rage 1&2 are like this too turning into uncensored the Bare Knuckle versions with Mr. X smoking in JAP mode.
