My parents wanted a son, but they got me instead. I was the oldest. It would have been nice to have been given the courtesy of infanticide, if they didnt want me. It would have saved me years of abuse, neglect and emotional scarring that I will never get over. Because I was born in the 70's my parents didnt know I was a girl until the moment I was born while they looked at my genitals in disappointment, and me in disadin for 18 years. There was an Indian couple who lived in Birmingham and went back to India for IVF treatment . They had twin girls in a hospital in Birmingham and just left them there . There were two girls born before my aunt and my great grandmother killed them. It's a remote Indian village , I don't think there are a lot of adoption agencies nearby . They care too much about what their peers think of them . There was an Indian couple who lived in Birmingham and went back to India for IVF treatment . They had twin girls in a hospital in Birmingham and just left them there . Actually, there are a lot of human right violations in India.Muslims and Christians were beaten and burned to death. Few ppl have been charged or convicted for these crimes. You can search these videos on youtube.

im not saying the religion is wrong, im saying that it is mentioned in our guru granth sahib that killing females is wrong,and those who kill females sikhs dont associate with those kind of people. Its customs practiced by hindus since the aryans attacked and took over majority of customs. such as burning the wife when the husband died, and killing female babies.

O sure, a lot of ignorant customs may still be practised...A lot of them r foolish and blind. But what can we do, poverty and illiteracy leads to all of this. I have noticed that very few people of every religion are actually following the truth and their religion in its true spirit. The Sri Guru Granth Sahib says:
"Do not say that the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran are false. Those who do not contemplate them are false." (SGGS Ang 1350).

These people have just misused the word, "God" and their religious scriptures by manipulating and misinterpreting them that true devotees are very less in this world. Poverty leads to all of this abortion etc. Poverty should be eliminated rather than fighting in the name of religion. God bless all.

I don't practice this either. And dowry is suppose to be illegal, but it still happens. In india, in africa, and other parts aswell. I dont see this as a solution. One day the girl boy ratio will be gone all wrong, and the boys will have no brides or worse share one bride. WTF, this is what hindus in india who believe in this dont understand. But it will happen. Than what? They will die without a partner. So both situations are a lose lose.

yep, hindus mostly. im sikh and we don't practice these customs . Its against our religion to go and kill a baby because its a girl. In the hindu religion they say if you dont have a son you go to hell. when a parent dies its the son that burn them not the daughter. This is the sad truth. Guru Nanak Singh Devji Ki Jai! I am a Hindu. All of the things that you just described are definitely practised by a lot of Hindus in India but it is out of ignorance my brother. It is not prescribed in the Hindu religious scriptures. If some Sikhs go and do wrong things out of ignorance, I won't tell that the whole religion is wrong.

Its customs that make alot of hindus and some sikhs who I dont think are sikhs in my heart, who kill females. Women have become stronger, are more educated and have more choices. They can work like men and make money This is more uglier than what it really is. But female foeticide must be abolished otherwise men will die brideless.

It is true that there are still such practices and my heart pains when I think about it. Sati and this female in foeticide is a big sin. I am a Hindu and can tell u for sure that this is mainly a ignorant practice of some poor ppl who live in rural areas. Aryan Invasion of India is a Myth. Max Mueller himself admitted it. Sikh ppl r very good souls and brothers of the Hindus.
