If your going to feature students sketch books get your students to hold up their sketch book and flip through it while you focus in with your camera- put these kids to work!
I heard you said you quite good friends with Dorian, this past semester I've been working along side him in my portraiture class. He's a delightful person, and very constructive. He usually stops by on tuesdays to just paint with us and give his insight on our pieces.
I like Ryan. I love his style also. It's... sort of close to mine, like i can see a few traits in there. I'll hop on over to DTO and check them out. Thanks Matt. ^___^; Thanks Ryan ^___^;
i'm scared of drawing/sketching on sketchbooks believe it or not. for some reason i feel much more comfortable drawing on regular printer paper. i feel like whatever i draw on my sketchbook has to be really good and that's too much pressure for me so i just dont.
hehe, I know what you mean! To me, it helps when I tell to myself, "well, it's just darn paper! It's a different one, but it's only a paper." I hope it helps.
Same deal here, but I got passed it by buying an assload of sketchbooks. If I only had one around I always felt I was gonna waste it with a bad drawing, now I have a whole bunch and don't really care if they come out bad anymore. :)
@OmnipotentO yea i know what you mean even though this is a really late reply i still wanna say that you should start drawing regularly in your sketchbook and dont worry about everything being perfect there suppose to be private anyways unless your showing them to other artist its funny im going through the same thing right now lol
@OmnipotentO I Reccomend Buying Sketchbook Sheets, Better Quality Than Printer Paper But Not On A Pad Or In A Book So You Dont Need To Show It To Anyone
@OmnipotentO I was the same way - but I realised something: I don't have to show my sketchbook to anyone if I don't want to so it doesn't matter if the drawings suck! :D if you keep thinking that you won't feel pressured about making everything in your sketchbook perfect :)
I really like your student sketchbooks. Unfortunately, I've got the imagination of a goat, so I'll never to beable to be that good. Keep up the great work, though. You're an inspiration.
@matthew39arch no no no no no i absolutely love these damn videos. dont ever stop making sketchbook vids do as many as you can this is where i get my inspiration from.
I see that a lot of these sketchbooks have drawings that are heavily influenced by a more expressive almost comic book style. It isn't bad but I can still see those elements coming through even when approaching life drawings.
sorry. could you put English subtitles on your next video, is that I have trouble understanding, even not much English, Many thanks for your videos =)

Lyra Pencil? A lyra charcoal pencil?
I've seen their red and sepia chalk pencils, but no black ones like that.

@OmnipotentO I used to do the same, but the thing with sketchbooks, is that they illustrate progress. Progress starts somewhere!
