  • the 80s chick at 1:26 is hot

  • I wasnt even born when Phil died, but he is 1 of few people in life I feel so close to when it comes to music,he is up there with the Greats,it is just so sad we cant see the end of what he started......RIP Phil Xxxxxxxx

  • everybody was so beautifull in the 80's

  • who the hell is disliking this???

  • Fact that he actually says "Orla" not "Ola" :D

  • @IRISHFELLA2010 Ye quality man

  • God, I miss Dublin.

  • Too bad they died too young. Hendrix would have loved Lynott, and I am sure Lynott also had some great songs left in him when he passed. I hope that people will listen to musicians like Hendrix, Lynott and Moore for much longer than they were able to hear themselves, and that they will inspire people who are suffering to keep fighting.

  • any1 see the doc about him on rte the other nite,he was a fuckin legend

  • How I wish the IRISH♣ROCK♣LEGEND PHIL♣LYNOTT could stroll down Grafton St again, just like back then, because the OLD TOWN of DUBLIN still LOVES YOU. Sadly & sorely MISSED BY ALL YOUR FANS at home in Dublin and all around the globe. Remembering you especially today Phil - GOD BLESS YOU PHIL, LOVE YOU AND WE ALWAYS WILL! xxx

p.s. Rock♣Legend♣Phil♣Lynott sure was one cOOl lOOking rock star - he even had the lOOk of a legend!!!

  • Rest in Peace Phillo. 26 years gone but not forgotten... Dublin legend.

  • I actually remember Saturday afternoons roaming the record and colthes shops of the Dublin of that video. Chicory coffee with big haired girls. It's actually come to the stage where I remember "de rare aul times"

  • Phil is the coolest frontman ever, wish i looked as cool as he did back then

  • Great song.

  • Love Ireland and I love Phil xxxxx

  • its a bit too colorful for my liking

  • Brilliant video and track, could anybody tell which pub is the Great man singing in towards the end, is it The Long Hall, The Baily, The Stags Head, Davy Byrnes............... Where

  • @zolaman1000 its the long hall, im sure of it ! haha!

  • Fuck those rockers with afros... what we need is more artists like Philo with heart, a sense of place and a song writing genius...

  • The problem with the Irish is that we are too good at politics (ask America and Australia) but, like sane people everywhere, most Irish people are too sane to bother with that shit (we like to be friendly with our neighbours but we don't want them ringing us about zebra crossings etc). Hence we left the incompetent, thieving arseholes in charge of our own state, which left us where we are now. There endeth the lesson.

  • phil was cracking up no doubt about it .but he left us with fantastic memories r i p phil .

  • very creative song!!!!!

  • Phil was a true original. Miss the man!

  • Why are people disrespecting this amazing song by discussing politics under it? Sit back and enjoy some fucking culture....

  • Philo is Awesome this track & video blows my mind so great

  • im a massive Lizzy fan but this video of Philo still gets me everytime. who cares if the video was a bit suspect. all 80's videos were like that. its the music and lyrics that count. Philos first major hit after Lizzy. still cry when i see him walk down the pier at the end looking very vunerable :/ who knew one of the greatest songwriters/muscicans/poet would soon be taken from us, Phil RIP :( thank you for the music :)

God Phil, you are sorely missed xx

  • yup correct..long hall pub..hasnt changed a bit and the staff are cunts

  • He was Hotttttttttt,ANd apparently not half Brazillian as many think,He was half guyanese ;) very close tough

  • What type of potato was this filmed with?

  • @MrGuitarShit - A record.

  • @MrGuitarShit go away & listen to your Lady GaGa downloads.

  • Great track. The demo version is unbearable for me, though.

  • The bloody essence of coolness walking up Grafton Street during yet another Irish economic depression.Ireland should rejoin the UK.They are totally incompetent on economic issues. They belong with their Celtic family in Scotland and Wales.

  • @yumorules Ireland should never join the UK, were in a mess now, but its a learning curve were still realitivly a new state with alot more learning to do. All countries at some stage get burnt by a property boom some on several occasions ie the UK. All we need to do is make sure it doesn't happen again and in a few years we'll be back on the up swing. Look at how succesful we've been, we are the most desirable place in europe for foreign investment, alot more than the say the UK.

  • What bar was he sitting in does anyone know?

  • @pinfolder

looks a bit like the Stags Head - anyone care to confirm?

  • @pinfolder it looks like the Longstone bar on Georges street.it still looks the same to this day.

  • The bould Philo.. A Dublin Legend....

  • HA !!!!!Cork the capital i think not.The quitter county could never be the capital.

and im goin to put that old story that Dublin was the last place in the republic to lower the butchers apron. It was spike island which is located where?

  • I was actually at his grave recently. It's touching to see all the appreciation everyone shows for him. Rip phil

  • Philo, your grave is the only one in St. Finbars that's allowed to have stuff placed above ground level. Isn't that cool old friend? They should just put your face on the money and be done with it. God speed, bud. I should be a few plots up from ye. See ya soon X

  • in the middle of the song is phil in a bar witch one is it, i remeber it bu i cant make out wich one it is

  • @LarssaLarsson its The Long Hall bar on South Great Georges street, i went on january 4th this year on the mans 25th anniversary and sat at the same place beside the bar with a pint of guinness to salute the man before i headed on to the vibe for philo, its an old fashioned bar and it was nice place to have a pint in,magic nite all round

  • @Owie1878

ok, i was at the vibe this year an run around thetown and visited alot of bars i might been in it. If i havent i will check it out next time im in Ireland. Not bad! the vibe was pretty good too bad what happen under robbos consert..

  • The bit where Phil gives a nod to the camera at the end and walks up the pier gets me every time man.God bless you Phil Lynott you really were one of a kind.

  • Me too...

  • Hah...good ol' Dublin!

  • oul philo....roisn dubh....miss you man. sleep well x

  • We had the genus of Phil Lynott and Rory Gallagher etc. No we have hermaphrodite-Jedward, Dr Ronan Keating, Dr Dr, Dame Louis Walsh, and Westlife and finally, a national treasure, Nicky Byrne!! Guys, yea have some neck, here's music. My, haven't the sewer rats come out and poisoned music in Ireland. Dame Walsh, shame on you

  • Phil will always be missed. Thin Lizzy had the ability to cross over and were the best rock / pop band ever in my opinion. A band who could continually place singles high in the pop charts without alienating their core rick fan base. That's no mean feat. So talented.

  • Artists like Phil are missed everyday. Without doubt Thin Lizzy were the best crossover rock band ever. They didn't lose their edge but they had a pop sensibility that enabled them to continually chart in the main pop charts, without alienating their rock fans. That's no mean feat. There will never be anyone like Phil again.

  • We had the genus of Phil Lynott and Rory Gallagher. No we have Jedward, 'Professor' Ronan Keating and Westlife!! Guys, yea have some neck, here's music.

  • We had the genus of Phil Lynott and Rory Gallagher. No we have Jedward, 'Professor' Ronan Keating and Westlife!! Guys, yea have some neck, here's music.

  • What a genius I miss you Rosin Dubh!

  • Exactly right, you meet a chick and then you take her to your favorite places that you like, and you spend so much quality time together, but then when its over those same places you loved before, seems cold and empty, hence the lyrics, "Not the same honey, when you're not around... this old town"....

  • great video !!!

  • Fuckin fab !

  • The Ole Covent Garden, I remember only too well...

  • Video never fails to bring a tear…huge loss, huge talent.

    RIP Phil

  • What u=is the meaning of this song? Is it about two people or about Dublin?

  • What an ... Influence even kids like this man...

my sister sarah seatch for sarah and she found a song called sarah with Phil and she got hooked by Phil, now she got poosters all over her wall.

This is an old story she told me, now she is 27 and work and lissens to Philip Somtimes

  • @elisabethdecadt Phil Lynott - *Philip Lynott album*

  • If this song was a movie it would be Taffin

  • Thanks guys :) xx

  • Wow, how Dublin has changed!

The pub = The Long Hall on George's Street

The park = Herbert Park in Ballsbridge (look at the shape of the pond!)

The street = I'm 99% sure it's Grafton St (yes, that place where the Molly Malone statue is technically Grafton St, not College Green) as I think he walks past the Fur shop which is still there.

Phil was the quintessential Dub (forget that clown Bono). RIP

  • What pubs he in? What streets it on?

  • @kaza4gj

Id say the pub is Mulligans on Poolbeg Street, the streets look like westmorland street He is playing the horn in St Stephens Green.

  • i saw that jacket yesterday at the exhibition in dublin!!

Thats how i met her .....so proud :) And ya she does live in Dublin, forgotten where again, but its near philips house.

  • @kaza4gj nice one bud ; ]

  • I know that the start is at the ha'penny bridge, but what street is he on at 1:00 does anyone know?

its mad to see how different people looked back then, the fashion, the surroundings, the city. I can really feel his presense everytime I walk across the bridge!! its magic!

  • Classic

  • reat tune by Philip Lynott I remember what his mother said if you lisen to the song this boy is cracking up this boy is breaking down she says she neaver used to lisen until now and to what the words really ment if you lisen you'll get what philiomeana said about the song it's self it's so sad to see one of the greatest rock stars passed away he's sadley missed and is a loss to the rock and roal world really is a shame that Philip Lynott has passed away.

  • @helraiser666painkil its the same for I Got to Give it Up......she said she only started listening to it properly when he died.
