  • the only thing the chip does that anything else cannot do to the psp, is to prevent it from bricking or unbrick.

    custom firmwares is just as good this days.

    just a waste of money's if your psp isn't wasted.

Any way, the epsilon is real, I just downloaded it today, now I just have to wait for my U.P., they ran out and I have to wait for next shipment. Does it really matter if I own a DS (which you probably didn't know)? It's all about the games, not the companies or the systems.

  • this is just a BIOS that will run on the modchip. in othr words you hav 2 solder in the chip nad then lash this BIOS into it. and it still hasnt been released so pray the final one will be this good (apparently its a bit buggy so far :S)

  • Epsilon Bios is not a modchip. Undiluted Platinum is the required mod chip. BIOS stands for Built In Operating System, which is basically a little program run from a chip inside the system. The Epsilon Bios is on the modchip, and you can still have the sony PSP Bios on the PSP board.

  • Soldering is easy, you can always try and find someone to help you do it too. Go to any electronics store and ask them about some simple starter kits and go from there.

    Btw astroz0 your still wrong. People pirate games because they get them for nothing. Erradicating piracy doesn't mean these people will buy the games.

  • Wrong! People who pirate games will have never bought the product. Hence pirates are not to be considered "lost" customers. You can't push prices up becuase people pirate you game, these people where never going to buy it anyway. Hence your game must suck to not achieve sufficient profit.

  • acutally they can and did boost prices because of said "lost" customers. obviously the game was good enough to make roms. so the problem must not lie in the game's quality. If the games were not available on the internet the said person would have most likely paid for it. also when people pirate the developers have to gain some of their lost profit back. most developers hardley break even as it is without being robbed.

  • Nearly every game is rommed. Rom makers buy up libraries and port them all. It has nothing to do with quality. Developers are allowed to cite whatever reason they want for raising prices. The fact of the matter is that the industry is shrinking, and pirating is just one factor that has already been ruled out as a cause, at least in the american market anyways... I think the pirating movement is stronger in the asias.

  • What studies? Yes it is true that by erradicating piracy some people would not buy the games, but some will. Having the game out there to download for free takes that slight chance that the person may buy the game and hacks it to bits. Why buy when youo can get it for free. My answer to that would be purchase games so that developers continue making them.
