Thanks, awesome playing. Although I enjoy the live version more than the studio.
Oh, btw (if I haven't missed it), i'd love to see a rendition of I Can See For Miles! John's playing on it is amazing, which is often hard to hear, I first noticed the groundbreaking bass on a jukebox in a pub. Doesn't sound the same on my Sell Out-cd or on the PC. Weird huh?
It is good live I agree, but there's just something about this version - where Pete's voice cracks and the tempo changes - the atmosphere of it is fantastic IMHO :-)
Not done that one yet, as you say the bass is hard to hear... I'll put it on my list!
MAN this is my favorite who song...Ever. Good call.

this is my favorite song, not this version, but this is really good playing. do you learn by ear?
and where did you get that bass?
that's just like one John would have used around 75

Yeah, all by ear...quickest way for me! I got the bass from NY, it was on eBay and I had to have it!
Thanks for the comment!

who makes it?
ManiacDrummer1212 3 years ago
It's an Alembic, same guys that made John's in the 70's.

If you can find the BBC sessions version of it the bass track is mixed in much more prominently.

Yeah, i've got the BBC Sessions, it is also included on the bootleg "High Numbered". The bass is just so badass on it.
