no, u can use yell0snow and jailbreak/unlock ur iphone 3g and then use an sim card/service on it. :)

Yes!!! THis is true! Also, if you havnt heard, you can unlock the iPhone 3G now with the yellowsn0w app that you can get once you have jailbroken your iPhone! That means you can use any SIm card and not have to pay for the AT&T service which is EXPENSIVE!!!
