  • i got a civilian motorola t8500 i use for paintball and every time i press ptt the radio

reset itself i cant chage the qt only on and off i dide every thing i cold what can i do to fix it

  • is there a way tp program it to hear it like a police radio

  • were you buy the radio

  • ALL these old Motorola radios are SHIT ! belive me, they are heavy, and have a crap range.. get an intek MT5050 then do the 2 minuite mod.. ( cut the wire !

  • HELP ME!!!! i want a radio for my airsoft military bravo type c 1 pin headset(its compatible with motorolla talkabout radios). its a 1 pin headset so yeah... like idk what the difference is between a 2 way radio and a regular radio but i want a 1 pin radio that will be compatible with my headset, look good with my gear, and have a removable antenna so i could buy longer antennas. also i want it to look like the box looking radios(like the ones you have in your video like the MT6000e)

  • don't you get in trouble pressing the help button (orange 1)

  • @officerwolf1997 lol. no.

  • @benatkin815 thanks alot i appreciate it :)

  • do you think the motorola tlkr t5 would work with the motorola xtni?

  • @hizip123 Yes they will be compatable. If the radios are classed as PMR446 (Which these both are) they will work together - even differant brands.

Most of the "free" to use radios are PMR446.

  • @benatkin815 But not legal

  • Good video! Can you tell me where to get a manual for the MT6000E? Thanks!

  • i want to buy one, how much

  • Does your XTN and the MT6000e work together?

  • @POLICEINTERCEPTORS1 Yes they can -and will transmit on th 446 range - However mine has been disabled from transmitting on 446 as its illegal here in the UK to transmit more than 0.5 watt on those frequancies

  • nvm i sawthe micaphone and does police still use it?

  • can u talk with em or not ?

  • Are these on a PMR446 band, licenced, CB, or what?

Have they been modified in any way?

  • Did the Police used to use PMR446 or what?

I know they use Tetra encrypted type nowadays.

  • Ex Police?

It looks like an 8 channel PMR446 style, Did the Police use these then?

  • @Maxsdiscos These cannot go on PMR446, they would have been programmed to frequencies owned by the police authorities (like MetRadio, WMPLink) and can have up to 35 Channels.

  • @CHANNELMICHAEL Clearly - Michael here has never owned an MT6000e, a GP900-99 or Even programmed a radio using RSS...

These Radios work on the UHF frequancy band, and YES they can be programmed to operate on 446, However, doing so is a big no no and you risk a hefty fine. the ones in the video ARE programmed on 446, but TX is prohibited on those channels so they can only receive - but if i wanted to i can take the restriction off and transmit @ 5W.

    The MT6000e requires a license.

  • @benatkin815 No, I meant you can't use them on the PMR446 as A) Their max out power is over .5w (5 I think) and they have removable antennas. Obviously you can programme in the frequencies but it's not strictly kosher.

  • @CHANNELMICHAEL ahh yea, legally its not allowed but is possible.

  • @benatkin815 what kind of realistic range dose the mt6000e have?

i go hiking alot and im using a pair of Cobra PMR MT975 446 radio's, but the range anit so good.. was thinking of getting a pair of mt6000's instead.. could i use the MT6000 and the Codra's together ?

  • @GoGetDaGimp in short No.

The MT6000e Transmit 5 Watts of power where as a PMR446 is only 0.5 Watt.

You could consider getting MT6000e's but you would need a license which is around £75 for 3 years in the UK.

Not sure the rules in others countries!

  • is this the united kindom walkie talkie

  • @metalbloodworlf Yes, Both of these walkie talkies are UK variations.

  • Guys, please can you help me? I've got a few of these but want to know what the buttons on the side are for. I know the middle one opens up the squelch, but what do the other two do? Also, has anyone checked with an ammeter how much current they draw? I'm still waiting for some new batterys for mine.

  • @Funkymonkeytoss It all depends on programming. Mine the blue one opens up the light on the monitor and the single dot opens the TSG Channel zone (all All Ex-Met (NE, SE, NW, SW, N, W, S and E TSG areas [X[X]_TSG on the screen].

Oddly I've managed to find out most of mine came from Kentish Town CID and

  • @CHANNELMICHAEL yea, mine are ex suffolk traffic radios

  • I own 2 MT6000e Radios, A PTX1200 (No info on that one) and an MTH800. All are pretty good.

  • @CHANNELMICHAEL You cannot go wrong with the MT6000e's. I've had mine for over 3 years. god knows how old they were before i got them as they are ex police radios... im guessing anything upto 10 and not a single issue

  • Yea, the Police got them (well the Met and West Midlands) in Early 1997. They are great. I have since found out my PTX1200 is the American version of the MT6000e.

  • @CHANNELMICHAEL Nice!

  • wer has the sound gone??

  • hay man nice radios i have the motorola cp100. Where did you get the radios from.

  • A Local radio recycling firm

  • Very nice radios. You have very good taste. Keep i up.

  • Thank you

  • Well yea, but these are MT6000e

  • i think hes referring to the XTS1500/2500/3000/5000 series of radios. and their use on the P25 system.

  • any for sale?

  • wot's the rang on the MT6000e?

  • pmr08 ??

  • Yes, There are 8 PMR446 channels in the UK

  • conect 08 pmr 6:00pm tuesday ?'

  • ex police uhf go great on the new pmr frequencies, Loadsa power means loadsa range in built up areas and good penetration in large buildings, Not to mention using them as mobile cb when out and about!

  • cud anyone program my radio for me

  • Tetra Based ?

  • i dont know if this is true but can u limit the pwer to say 0.5mW and then programme the radioto pmr446 then use the mic as you have written

  • you can if you look at the schematics and ajust the rotory pot accordingly

  • is that what you did?

  • sound doesnt work after you say "ex police radio" - from there on, no sound

  • yea, i noticed.. oh well. Yo0u get a good look at it anyway!

  • I recently got one to from ebay. How can I program the channels for PMR like you did?

  • you'll need a cable. If they have a key pad on the front enter frequencies on that.

  • hi all

i resently bought a uhf motorola mt6000e of ebay, but not sure if i need a licence for it??? also i cant find out how to program it either?any help will be greatly appreciated

    thanks

(im scared to press the big red button lol :)

  • do police use VHF band or UHF band?

  • Neither, Was UHF... Now Digital TeTRa

  • well it depends were u are my area they are digital but some areas that are less funded uses UHF

  • TETRA is UHF. Just encrypted and trunked. Not sure if it's actually 'digital' or not.

  • VHF

  • I like ur video n also i have a set of like walkie talkie(2 way radios range)

Visit n see my video here ..see my video there..n leave a commment..have a nice day.

  • damb stright! but not 500 cops its 500 members of the sas! lol

  • I have heard the red button being used for emergency signalling, but opening the mic, thats excellent. Great idea, and perfect for emergency, any normal person wouldn't realise, especially if you had a headset or mic attached

  • we have them for our fire dept. and the emergency button sends a tone that triggers a alert at dispatch and opens your mike for 10 seconds

  • i wish the police still used those, i miss been able to switch on my uniden scanner and catching the action, awful tetra.

  • I Couldn't agree more... Me and the old man spent many evenings doing such...

  • The Uniden BCD-396T will scan tetra and the LCD will read "tetra encrypted" along with beeping like censoring which is the encryption so can't listen. I seem to scan other stuff though such as security guards, local buses, trains occasionally, taxis, some businesses and they can be fairly interesting. I do sometimes hear police sounding transmissions so they must still have an analogue link with some service or third party. Courier firms have moved into the old police bands fair bit.

  • dont some of these police radios have a button that calls for backup or something i saw it on COPS or some other show wildest police chases maybe

  • Yea, Thats what the Orange/Red button on the top does. But the radio needs tyo be linked to a dispatcher system...

  • what is transmitted when u hit that button does it play a prerecorded message like "backup requested by unit 12" or whatever

  • No, its setup to send a pacific data code to the control center it then keeps the mic on the radio open so that the control center can hear whats going on, theres a few setting it can have...

  • oh thats cool, the cop hits that button and then the crook is on the radio lol like you are listening to police radio network (trying to make it sound like a radio station lol)

  • oi pome. send one down to australia eh mate.

  • were cood i buy 1 of thos i need a ht 1250 rele bad help lol

  • PMR? like in those cheap radios on 446MHz?

    Anyways, very nice radios!

  • Did you say "hacked police radios?"

  • Absolutly not. These are recycled radios, as the UK police now use TETRA radios, they dont use these UHF ones.

  • Ah, okay. They are really nice radios, by the way.

  • made in malaysian ;)

  • wyborne :D

  • can u send me on of those?

  • Are any for sale?

  • Best bet is E-Bay

  • definatly agree with you, only motorolas for me :D

  • u would'nt mind making

    another video the same

    as this but with sound.

    please. because i would like

to get to know that radio a bit more

    the mt6000e

  • nice but you really need the masc encryption version to see how good the 6000e is

  • I bought a Motorola and it went wrong after a year and they would not repair it, the kenwwod ones can be repaired to component level and this is far better.

  • cool I have tons of those cheap Motorola talkabouts but I also have 7 motorola spirit mu21cv radios, and 2 radius p200 and 3 radius p110 Motorola commercial radios.

  • so how did u get a x police

    radio that's cool

  • Managed to purchase it from a recycling firm, It weas wiped of frequancies when i got it, but its now on UK General

  • i got the same radio as u the

    motorola xtn 446.

but i don't know how to change

the channels could u make a video

of how to use it please

    thak you.

    cobrastriking

  • do you still not no how?

  • whats the model number of that shoulder mic you showed? thats a pretty cool accessory. i just have the square type(the model number and the mic have seemed to escape me for the moment lol)

  • I beleive it is NMN6241B.
