  • he used to play in my home towns junior a hockey team and he was a beast

  • love how he says Fedotenko! lol

  • Sorry US hockey fans, but I've attempted to listen to your commentating. It's second rate at best, even these guys. The CBC call of this goal is far superior.

  • @canuck2xtreme can you find the clip?

  • i wish these guys got into the games in nhl 11. they're so fucking boring in nhl 11

  • @Hardcoresum41fan wouldn't that be nice,

  • Gary Thorne made was pre lockout 1990s hockey.

  • both emrick and gary thorne are awesome announcers

  • any call by this guy is great. Need these announcers back.

Look at game 6 flyers for lightning. This guy really puts that signature moment on a big goal.

  • The sole reason Tampa Bay won this game.

  • Doc Emrick FEARS Gary Thorne!!!

  • Even though it was a good shot, i think the reason he scored was cause of the man who ran passed kipper before the shot, at :47 you see the goal and then you see kipper look at his teammate who skated right past him and blocked his view... and he kind nods, showing he was like talking to him...

but im a tampa fan, i dont care... go lightning.

  • This is one Gary Thorne call I'm not impressed with. Bob Cole's was FAR better.

I mean Thorne didn't even sound phased at all by what Lecavalier did in the corner there. Like there was no excitement until the goal.

  • CBC call was better. I feel bad for you Americans. Arguing about who's better, Thorne, Clement, Emrick... unfortunately, they're all second rate to CBCs announcers, or TSNs, or Sportsnet. If you can get those channels, I highly recommend you watch them, much much better. I can't stomach watching games on VS or NBC. Great goal, Tampa deserved to win.

  • @dancergirl2000 as an american let me just say i love Gord Miller and Jim Hughson

  • @dancergirl2000 and btw CBC's call was awful no emotion in whatsoever. The announcer's "oh baby" was completely flat and rehearsed

  • @andyreidsweight well bob cole is for one a canada native so you can tell he was rooting a little big inside for calgary and he's over 70 he's getting pretty old, he's a legend though

  • @andyreidsweight I think maybe you should watch the CBC call again. No emotion? Are you nuts?

  • @andyreidsweight Oh and also, Cole had the buildup while describing Lecaveliers spectacular puckhandling out of the corner and then setting up Fedotenko. This call however? Nothing. Talk about no emotion. Nothing until the puck goes in. Flat and rehearsed? If you're talking about this feed, then I agree. But CBCs call was brilliant.

  • Its been 6 years and I still get goosebumps every time I watch this. Lecavalier absolutely embarrassed Steve Montador. This is without a doubt the single most important play in Lightning history aside from St. Louis' Game 6 winner just a few nights before. How appropriate that both moments came by the two greatest to ever wear the black and white. Long live our captain Vincent Lecavalier. Long live our heart and soul Martin St. Louis.

  • FEDO-TENKOOOOOOO!!!! Gary Thorne is the man

  • THE SET UP FROM VINNY LECAVALIER!! ... HE'S GOT ANOTHER ONE!!! FEDOTENKOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

  • 2004 !!!!! great year i wasw a senior in high school back then

the economy was still good then

  • that was one epic night man Go BOLTS

  • Yes, no one does hockey like Thorne. The NHLPA held out just long enough to lose their contract with ESPN. They also ended up with a salary cap. So those sad, sad players did nothing for the sport except put it years behind of where it could 've been here in the US. Thank God for the Olympic showdown between Cananda and the US. It sounded like some non-hockey fans might start to tune in thanks to that!

  • i like gary thorne doing hockey... miss espn doing hockey

  • Good call by Thorne, only problem is this is how he called a go ahead goal in the 2nd period of a game from the first week of the season.

  • VS and NBC need to sign Gary Thorne and Bill Clement..Emrick is good, but NOBODY can call a hockey game like gary thorne

  • maybe Jim Hughson hes pretty good

  • agreed!

  • I agree. I like Emrick tho but I'll take Thorne

  • who scored the goal for Calgary?

  • Craig Conroy

  • Conroy on the power play.

  • if fedetenko scores pittsburgh is winning for sure its gonna give them so much confidence

  • They gotta get Thorne and ESPN back: "He's got another one...FEDOTENKOOOOOO!" So awesome

  • man, i hope he does this tomorrow for pittsburgh!

  • Awesome, best Playoffs I've ever watched.

  • Actually, THIS year's playoffs may have been the best ever. 04 was good but not like this year.

  • I attach special significance to 04 because my team won. Though, Penguins are another favorite of mine so....

  • "He's got another one...FEDOTENKO!"

  • Not only was it sold out but there was at least 20,000 people outside the aena as well... idiot. Must be a Flames fan

  • First of all I'm from Tampa (Go Bucs), and I lived there during that season. Second of all, I'm a SHARKS fan, so there's no fucking way that I'm a Flames fan, and we sell out EVERY GAME. We aren't band wagon fans like the Lightning fans. Third of all, just because a bunch of people were standing outside the arena doesn't mean that the game sold out.

  • @psx2514 it was sold out dude...i was there and i had friends working at the place of the time that confirmed it to me that it was 100% sold out so whoever told you that is dead wrong

  • I miss gary thorne and bill clement calling the finals......Bring them back!

  • It was.

  • loll seriously i agree they suck now. 4 years ago they won the cup and now they cant play loll

  • weird how tampa bay 4 years ago won the cup and now sucks like shit

  • same with carolina and the ducks, its a curse!!

  • same with the teams that lose at the stanley cup finals like ottawa aint doing to good but now there stringing together some wins

  • yep look at pittsburgh, struggling to make the playoffs

  • I wouldn't say they're struggling anymore. If they take care of business they may get home ice against Philly or Carolina in round 1.

  • Speak for your own team dude. Calgary has consistently made the playoffs EVERY single year after this final. Yes, that includes 2006, 2007, 2008 and looks to be 2009 too.

  • yea but that really doesnt mean anyting unless u win the cup

  • I'd rather be them than Edmonton right now - Edmonton hasn't made the playoffs since they went to Game 7 in 2006. Calgary at the very least gets to the playoffs - the last three years they've played Anaheim, Detroit and SJ in the first round, two of which have won Cups this decade. All very tough draws.

  • except its not happening with the wings...

  • Man, you guys are forgetting that CALGARY has made the playoffs every single year since the 2004 run. There are only 5 teams right now that have made the playoffs consistently since 2004 (pre-lockout). Calgary is one of them so there is no Curse for the team that wins the cup or loses in the final. Calgary has proven that. Get over yourselves. :P

  • And they may very well challenge for it all THIS year. Jokinen and Leopold give them even more firepower than they had before the deadline (and they had a lot already). If they get everyone back healthy before the playoffs they will be lethal out West.

  • Ruslan scored both Tampa goals this game!!
