lololo low settings with the lowest resolution is the only way you could pull something like this off with a low/entry level PC. There are legit physic/explosion videos where the graphics and res are set to DX10 and normal resolution is used.

Also to get slo-mo properly just type in time_scale 0.1 and it slows the time right down

I get about 400 fps with a 500 barrel explosion when the timescale is as low as that (i have to speed it up after)
