I admit to looking up David here to get the news on his DUI arrest yesterday and then found this video. Then I watched it and remembered how much I loved this song and it reminded me of what I was doing back in the day and who I was with. I then got really melancholy listening to this and wished I could go back in time. Lots of emotions and forgotten feelings. Thank you, David.

This sounds a bit like Alias, who had a couple of hits around the same time. This is a good song, but supposedly while it was climbing the charts in late 1990, his record company went belly up and all promotional efforts ended and the song just died at about #27 or so on the billboard charts. It could have been a huge comeback for him.
