  • Those were certainly Dr. Seuss' creatures I have saw.

  • Ha-ha, images from this episodes are appearing in Marvin Gaye's song "I Heard It Through the Grapevine"

  • i heard claude cats voice as well

  • This is my favorite snafu short because it scares me so friggin much, these rumors haunt my nightmares

  • For the too young to remember crowd, the word "SNAFU" is Army slang for Situation Normal All F&%$#@ Up. Mel Blanc did the voice for the gullible private. These films were shown in Army camps as a means of instruction. There were posters all over America warning about giving out TMI and spreading rumors. Loose Lips Sink Ships.

  • This is the creepiest and most disturbing cartoon ever.

  • 4:06 Snafu is having fun with his weiner!

  • I find that the anime movie End of Evangelion has an even BIGGER "acid trip" scene.

  • This is where nightmares come from

  • :: Haha I love this cartoon, make me smile ::

  • Here's a rumor for you doesn't Snafu look a little like the guy who just gave those secrets to Wikileaks? It would explain a lot if they were related.

  • Theodore Geiesel, best known as Dr. Seuss, contributed much input to thesse pictures. The designs of many of the rumor-beat, esp. at 3:01 and 3:13, look like some of Seuss' storybook creatures in hell....

  • That was one giant WTH moment.

  • From 1:22 to 1:38 the music and animation just flows together.

If anyone doesn't know it's Powerhouse. One of the best damn instrumentals ever made by man.

  • i did hear a few years ago they found old WWII jap subs off the coast of california. i dont remeber where i herd it from tho.

  • Just look at all the way funny shit that old people had. Balloon juice, now go shoot off your face. This is the funniest cartoon I have ever seen next to some south park shit. XD

  • Daffy Duck @ 3:40

  • @Clapnot It's actually the same guy for all the voices.

  • Oh man, I loved that! XD Especially the end, where they have a guy running a meat grinder like it's one of those old-fashioned hand-cranked cameras! Didn't see it coming!

  • ahaha the rumours are a bunch of Baloney

  • Friz Freling is listed as director. He was a Warner Bros. man. These are the voices of Mel Blanc.

  • "Nice day for a bombing."?

What is he? A suicide bomber?

  • This is one big acid trip.

  • It's allll over....we lost the war...

  • SNAFU = Situation Normal All Fucked Up

  • Or, to be more polite, 'Situation Normal, All *Fouled* up. But, this term being military in origin, what you said is considered more correct.

  • let's not be polite, that ruins all the fun

  • 'Paratroops RIGHT on the Whirehouse lawn!'

  • 3:42 - Daffy Duck's laugh LMAO

  • @PatrickRsGhost

    THATH DETHPICABLE!!!

  • best line:

"and further more, the Japs are in california!"

    dear god...I live in california

  • ohshi-

  • Reminds me to 1984: "Ignorance is Strength!"

  • i like the representation of the press at the end slicing up the rumor sausage: sees, hears, knows nothing.

    awsome show!

  • "...And furthermore, the Japs are in California! Eheh!"

    5/5

  • war on terror may scare you out of your freedoms.. but not me.

  • ???

  • it goes to show you even in todays society that we shouldn't listen to/spread rumors

  • This cartoon was written by Theodore Geisel, better known as "Dr. Seuss".

  • That's true. Just listen to some of the rhyming in the narration. Sound familiar?

  • This series of cartoons were very popular with US troops. Also, since these were officially "military training films", they were exempt from the Hayes Office film codes, allowing a certain "saltiness" to the dialog (You can hear the occasional "Hell" and "Damn" in other Private Snafu cartoons).

  • hmmmmmmmm i bet our military would be more effceint if we watch these kind of cartoons

  • Ah, yes. The adult "Looney Tunes".

  • Sounds like Sen. Harry Reid, when he said that the "War (on terror) has been lost". Perhaps he saw this video and that's why he opened his fat mouth. My name is Mark Fisher and I live in Reno, Nv. Harry (Pinky the pinko) Reid's home state.
