  • where can i go to buy tickets for this band..heard them recently..pretty awesome

  • Can't wait till January 7, I get to see these guys at the metro. gonna be sick as hell

  • I'm callin it second best on EP redness in the west is where it is fucking at.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=xPYBsEv5hCo

  • this is one of there greatest songs!!!!

  • best song on the ep for sure

  • only punk band to excite me recently, and, they are from ma home town to make it even better, chi-town represent!

  • calling this band "the larry arms" makes you hipster... die

    -surly b. drinkin'

  • @pizzabike86 what about the larry limbs?

  • @burningbackhome Maybe my language was too harsh... I didn't mean that I disliked this EP. The typical energy and sincerity are still there, which is great. And I'm very pleased to discover that Chris and Brendan are still splitting vocals. The point I'm trying to make is that while this material is classic Lawrence Arms, it doesn't sound new, and that disappoints me. Maybe I just hold them to a higher standard because they're my favorite band, but I really wish they'd be a bit more innovative.

  • If you guys have any music suggestions feel free to ask.

  • Best Song <3

  • As a die-hard Lawrence Arms fan, I'm kind of disappointed with this EP. This material, particularly this song, sounds like it could belong on "The Greatest Story Ever Told." That album gets five out of five stars in my book, but it's seven years old by now. I hope their next full-length is a bit more genre-bending... I would really hate to see my favorite band grow stagnant and thus irrelevant.

  • @terryfoor really? yes it would be better in the greatest story ever told but, it's better they aren't "stagnant" at all since i've seen so many bands begin to really suck as they tried to change to the different crap thats out...gawd i miss the good 90's music...now people think that all-american rejects are good *shudder* PS the guitar is super fun to play on this cuz just listen, all those bends and stuff :D

  • @terryfoor as a "die-hard Larry Arms fan" you'd know what makes the band stand apart from other musical shit is the duality of the songs that has persisted throughout their records. i loved "oh! calcutta" but there was TOO much "falcon" in that record and it removed the bipolar/collaborative/balance that is the arms. the songs on this EP might sound like they'd fit in line with "greatest story..." but the songwriting and composition is beyond 7 years post. stagnant is "social d"

  • hahaha these guys have al the perfect combos, they have the most fitting drum and guitar fersure...but uh his voiced fits it perfectly too u know its not all pretty boy or smoker...one reason why they RULE

  • great stuff!

  • i saw them in san diego. i got a piece of glass in my foot and got punched in the face by a girl... but amazing!

  • Really pleasant.

  • Man im addicted to the lawrence arms now =P they be kickars!

  • I love the shit out of this song.

  • Fair enough. Different strokes for different strokes though eh?. I personally didn't really like Ghost stories.

Its all good, Its all Larry Arms, at least I ain't listening to Simple Plan :p

One of the best gigs I ever went to was Sundowner (Chris) with Mike Park from the Chinkies in a tiny pub in Camden.

  • Damn, I'm not gonna get burned at the steak AGAIN am I?

Thats just my opinion. I still think The Greatest Story Evver Told is their best work but to be honest, I haven't found somethingI don't like by them.

  • I'd say its actually better than both. I know thats saying a lot but theres more variety on this ep than both of the those.

I knew something epic was on its way when they put "The Rabbit and the Rooster" out and they sure lived up to the expectations

If this is what they've reached now, I'm betting their new album is going to blow everything else out of the water.

  • i dont think they have made a bad song.

  • I Concur!

  • What a fuckin fantastic song

  • Amazing! I think this EP is some of their best work. And this song is one of their best songs. Can't stop listening to it. It's so good to see a band that actually improve, and they've been great from the start. There's not a lot of bands like the Lawrence Arms.

  • Exactly my thoughts. That's why they're my favorite band ever.

  • @Laffe13

I agree totally! I love the Lawrence Arms. They are my favorite hidden pocket band and I am just waiting for them to get big like Alkaline Trio or Rise Against (fellow Chicago band mates).

  • nooo i want them to stay small-time, A3 rock though... :) X

  • Yeah, when it comes to some bands, I just don't see why they're not bigger, cuz they should be (just like Lawrence Arms). But when you think about it, it seems that the bigger bands get, the more they start to change or suck. Lawrence Arms does everything their own way, and I don't think they'll let anyone change that for any price. But even though ALK3 and RE have gotten pretty big, and maybe changed some, they're still great, and they're still among my fav bands.

  • RA* sorry

  • @Laffe13

RE refers to??? I just was thinking the same today, ALK3 and lawrence were two related bands but now I see alkaline trio as another band, Lawrenc are still the same punk rock band.

  • I was refering to RA (Rise Against), just typed wrong letter. And I was replying to what Opivy29 said.

But yeah, I feel just the same way. I love ALK3, (in fact they're still one of my fav. bands,) but I don't think they'll ever gonna be what they used to be, even though their last album had SOME of the old sound. Yet I don't think it was nearly close enough to the old trio.

Lawrence Arms on the other hand: They'll never change, only improve. That's the way I see it. :)

  • @Laffe13 hahhaa totally and like my other comments for these guys, alk3 rules but, then theres the bald dude who has that wheezer voice but, matt skiba's fits but, the lawrence arms they have everything perfect voice/guitar/bass/drum u know not like any dragonforce crap where singley they're stuff takes some skill but, they dont know how to put it together

    i used but 3 times :D

  • @TheRandumbPhantom the bald guy's name is dan and he is a fucking asshole, A3 use to be a good band but they sold the fuck out and every album they make keeps sounding worse and worse they should have never kicked glen out of the band

  • @thelivingfire

    Who owns Epitaph again?

  • @superfastmonkeys Brett Gurewitz from Bad Religion

  • @thelivingfire

Is the "Dan's a dickhead" remark based on you knowing him personally, or is it conjecture ala "ran into him at Zaxby's chicken and he was grumpy"? Curious

  • @thelivingfire yeah, i finally did my research on the band cuz i can only do that on good ones haha anyways chris, brendan, and neil are prolly the best so far

  • Comment removed

  • I have a man crush on chris

  • lol dont we all

  • @0o0oo0o I've got the same kind of crush on Brendan Kelly

  • This new EP is fuckin awsome! All of the songs are great!

  • I agree, best song on the EP. Great EP!

  • they're all great tracks.

  • best song on the ep?
