Oh.. My.. GOD!! The 2007 inferno was a real sacrilege! How can this be avoided in the future? Perhaps the lands need to be irrigated extensively for the near future.. If there were enough surface water, fires could be stopped by this natural barrier. It would definitely do some good in Greece. The country is so dry! So, making the lands swampier would in fact provide more security and also diminish erosion and infertility..
