It sounds difficult breathing but is it physically difficult? Like someones sitting on your stomach or something? Im pretty fascinated by pilots but I have this total fear of not being able to breath because of an accident when I was a kid haha...
@tantorecords thats part of it but they are also clenching just about every core muscle in their body to force the blood to their brain and to breathe while doing that is damn hard without letting up too much.
i tip my hat off to him. i was lucky enough to ride in a mig in russia (it cost a pretty penny) and those g forces kicked my ass. but it was so much fucking fun.
can someone explain to me... more g = more pressure on the body... HOW would this feel in words.. going from 1.4 to 9 in like.. 1 / 2 seconds.. that's INSANE
@district37nl basically as a jet turns sharply on its belly the g forces created will push alot of your blood to the lower limbs, hence depriving the brain of oxygen. in other words when you go into g-loc, your vision will tunnel and start to get dark kind of like fainting. pilots do these exercises to flex different areas of the body so that the blood can be retained in the head and upper limbs/torso.
@tread64eight You fell like your on a roller coaster. It makes your belly feel sort of heavy at the bottom but when you get the hang of it its less pressure that you feel.
@ForDoverUSA they make his body weight 9 times bigger, the blood begins to go down to the feet and far from the brain making most of the untrained ppl faint instantly, so the pilots train breaths and squising leg techiniques to maintain the blood inside their heads preventing fainting. It's harder tha it looks like, normal pll may faint at 6Gs and mostly at 7Gs, then above this only trained pll can handle.
@Vicilu Thanks for the response. Are they moving in a centrifuge? Hard to tell since you can't see any bgd? I think it's great because I don't know what you do if a pilot passed out in real flight...
@ForDoverUSA yes he is, it's very well closed to be safe. If a pilot GLOC (faint due to G force) in the air normaly the pressure on the manuver stick will reduce, reducing G force, letting the pilot to go back to nomal, but the airplane will be incontrolable at this time and chances of not crash the airplane will be variable by altitude, speed and position
@Vicilu Thanks! I have seen many a vid where the pilot is fine and he is laughing at his partner in the back who just passed out. Crazy stuff - I would love to try it though. :) Serious balls these people have and they have 100% of my respect. Thanks for getting back - in another life, I would love to be a fighter pilot...
@ForDoverUSA hes practicing a technique where pilots flex there muscles to increase blood flow to brain and practicing breathing frequency to maximize the oxygen brought to the brain.
@entoris476 He has to flex pretty much every muscle in his body so that it keeps all blood wherever it is so he doesnt pass out. all the centrifugal force also effects the blood. like when u go on the ride that shoots up really fast. all ur blood goes down. but uf tighten ur muscles right u kan keep it from going down.. same principle here. just times ten or fifteen. lol . that shits extreme. some pilots kan handle 12 G's . i think nasa shuttle take off's produce around 9 g's also. not sure
@mlgprox1 It's not gravity... you're totally wrong, it's the effect of what gravity would be like as a multiple of your weight in either x,y or z... aka It's association of acceleration relative to free fall... it's not gravity it's relative TO gravity. Learn your shit or shut the fuck up.
@mlgprox1 Actually, dip shit, it's inertia. The force is measured in units of gravity. A high bank turn 90 degrees to the horizon imparts only one 1g of gravity while the radius and speed of the turn imparts it's own changing force. Science is your friend.
Basically your sitting in a can that spins really fast, the force you experience is based on this equation F = m*(v^2/r) F for force, m for mass, v for velocity and r for radius (how far you are from the center) .
@MrMetalhead9182 It's a centrifuge buddy, type it into google, it rotates sideways so the pilot is on his side then spins around a enclosed area at high speed, generating an acceleration through the vehicles y-axis.
I gotta remember these techniques. It coud help me and in fact, it did! I one time pulled some G's on a small plane and I got dizzy and a major headace. When I pulled some G's again, I did this technique and it kinda helped! Although I wish I remembered it sooner because I got so dizzy my head was spinning!
@mckricks1 "so what does 9G mean what is happening to him?" G = Earth gravity, 9G = nine times normal Earth gravity, so his body weighs as much as a small car. The blood is trying to rush to his feet, and he's fighting to keep it in his brain so he doesn't pass out.
@mckricks1 I'm not totally sure if this is right but I think it means he has the equivalent of 9 gravities, so if he weighs 100kg he now weighs 980kg. But he has to tense up and keep blood in places like his brain so he doesn't pass out.
Chuck Norris would snap in half at 9G and be crying for mama.. He would take a greater kicking than the one Bruce Lee gave him. lol Who is this Chuck "fucking" Norris?? 5G would eat Chuckle for breakfast and make him throw it all back up.
Can anyone tell me how does it feel when this guy is in this training? I understand this is trying to simulate the pressure a pilot will face when flying a fighter jet, but I don't understand how does it feel. Any breathing difficulties? He seemed to feel very very unwell..
@MrQuackism What they basically do is tense up their body like they are going to the bathroom is the best way i can explain it.... (pooping obviously) that way it keeps the blood circulating
@MrQuackism "He seemed to feel very very unwell.."
Well, if he normally weighs 175 pounds, he now weighs 1575 pounds, three quarters of a ton. His head alone weighs over 100 pounds. So I imagine it feels like being crushed. Not to mention that he would pass out instantly if he wasn't working his ass off to force blood up into his brain.
@MrQuackism I've seen videos where people pass out and their neck snaps down really hard (most people can't handle 9Gs). Not sure if anybody gets injured from that.
Fuck from 1.4 to 9g's in 2 seconds!!! Picture yourself launched on top of a SAM missile. This is just sick. You can clearly hear the anti-g suit's pants inflating very rapidly. Even with them, I just can't imagine withstanding 9g in 2 seconds without fainting.
