He's more like *screw the world for the sake of one* , he doesn't care what happens to anyone as long as he can protect one person, he heartlesly does anything to anybody else, but when he had a chance to fight and kill Hitsugaya (in the name of protecting himself) he retreated because it meant he would have to harm Matsumoto if he continued. And later on, when he would happily slice people in half, he faked killing Matsumoto to Aizen, instead hiding her beneath a Kido to erase her presence.
SPOILER Basically, he was willing to become the bad guy, betray the bad guys, kill and maim others, anything as long as it brought him closer towards gaining the ultimate power, which would allow him to protect her from anything (as he put it to Matsumoto as a child, "I want to change things, so Rangiku will never have to cry again") He's like Itachi of Naruto, the ultimate deceiver with a heart of gold who in the end dies for that persons sake (He dies in her arms after failing to kill Aizen)

@vc180191 I dont think GIN is dead. In manga chapter 424 rangiku says "hes moving on" "you left without leaving a memento". from this i draw that gin jut disappeared again but will make an appearance later on. Hopefully, he loses an arm and become one of thos kick ass one hand swrdsman.

Gin isn't a redeemable character. He just isn't. He does things in the interest of himself and himself only, despite the fact that he may or may not have feelings for Rangiku. If he does they are secondary to himself. I see Aizen disposing of him when he's not needed anymore, and that's all. I don't think Gin is gonna pull a Darth Vader in the end and be liked again. That said, he's still an interesting character and one of Kubo's more intriguing creations because he's so unpredictable.

@temarrie19 His bankai is the same thing as his shikai only much longer, and his retraction and extension is very fast. He claims that his zanpakuto is not the longest but the fastest. Also the ability is to stab through someone and then he leaves a piece of his weapon in his victim then he says "Kill, Kamishini no Yari" and it makes the victim disintegrate from inside out on a cellular level. He is very badass indeed. =]

@nella0910 Yeah, Rangiku will likely stand in his way again at some point - and he'll come to realise he cares for her more than he does for this whole plot.. she already directly stood in his way twice, and he didn't do anything about it even though he could just brush her away without even doing her any harm - instead he just plainly submitted both times.

is after the first season.when aizen writes a death message to hinamori -which is fake- and tells that Hitsugaya wants to take the power from the weapon that rukia will be executed with.And of course Aizen tells that Hitsugaya is the one who killed Aizen.-though Aizen is still alive-..wait until 48 episode of bleach!

In my theory.. he is actually able to see through the eyelits.

@temarrie19 His bankai is the same thing as his shikai only much longer, and his retraction and extension is very fast. He claims that his zanpakuto is not the longest but the fastest. Also the ability is to stab through someone and then he leaves a piece of his weapon in his victim then he says "Kill, Kamishini no Yari" and it makes the victim disintegrate from inside out on a cellular level. He is very badass indeed. =]

@nella0910 Yeah, Rangiku will likely stand in his way again at some point - and he'll come to realise he cares for her more than he does for this whole plot.. she already directly stood in his way twice, and he didn't do anything about it even though he could just brush her away without even doing her any harm - instead he just plainly submitted both times.
