This is narrated by the English painter...he unravels the story of zamindar as much as he heard ... so it seems that the story is not well-made or round one, but it is a fragment of lifestyle of a zaminder family,,

It's a shame that the writer of subtitles misheard far too many words in the english narration throughout the film, which has essentially changed the script and the storyline. Viewers should be aware of this calamity.

I was surprised to see the dull landlord going after the wife, even in the frame of those days he would be going for the sculptor, who behaved in an unprofessional way. When you get paid you have to do the job,and any sort of excuse like this will be appriciated.

Well, in the end it is narrated that "no one heard anything of the sculptor anymore". That seems to suggest that the sculptor has been killed..

Sculptor and Yashomati did not have an affair. But they definitely had tremendous attraction between them. Sculptor seem to have fallen in love with her, thought of her all the time and fantasised about her. Therefore he ended up sculpting face like hers.

A good movie , i think we still have some frustrated people in our soceity who wither posses very qrong understanding of the religion or twist the religious beliefs in to their own made rituals for the sake of so called religious title they possess or just for other material benefits. And its not about hindus only i belive people like the pandist in this movie are present in every religion.

i think this movie just have it's own specialty...... it is able to attracted u to watch from the 1st to the last episodes. the story also show that in this world, we focus too much to what others says rather than God himself just like the master was focusing too much to the brahims and didn't bother to think about the logic of stuff that he was ask to do.... at the end of the day he loose everything that is precious to him. I heard a story from my grandmother where one of her friends actually tried something like this. She was in her early twenties and already married to an old man who had 2 other wives. she fell in love with a young man in the family and actually ran away and I do believe for a very good reason.
