To give you a better understanding of why they are called natives here is the definition of the word.

What surprises me is that you used two of the many Indian tribes and nations to describe the entire population. If you look at the native Americans overall they were far more peaceful and less savage then the Europeans.

It is well documented that the North American tribes were always at war with each other. Brutality is a human overall characteristic and Europeans / whites do not have a monopoly on it.
