Its perfectly legal to discriminate against 'sex offenders' They cant even live where they want. They have no civil rights, yet no one is fighting for their rights like they do for blacks, women and gays. People don't even pay attention to sex offender registries anymore, they are useless. in my state the ones who are evaluated to be a risk to reoffend are committed indefinitely until they prove to the doctors and such that they are rehabilitated.

Ive know people on the sex offender registry for marrying someone under age,consensual teenage sex and even public nudity. The registry is simply a public shaming vehicle,you can hardly find the real molestors and rapists!! Shame on the legislators for ruining this service!!

i have a good friend named joe, he gets drunk and goes home with a girl from the bar, turns out she's 2 weeks away from being 17 (the legal age in illinois). her parents flip out and now hes a registered sex offender.

In your comments you say REAL sex offenders . I dont understand? It does`nt matter what the details of your crime are, when the state drops the gavel and convicts you as a "sex offender" you are thrown into one big group.And you are a REAL sex offender. My victum was 16, 7 days from being 17 . I was 25 . I am now 34 . I am now and until the day I die I will have to register as a REAL sex offender. Its damn REAL to me. I didnt get life in jail but I did get life in shame not only me my family too
