By the way, the sloka is not sung in Raga Durga - it is Mohana or Bhoop

@saurabhusbondre i might be wrong.. bt i believe this is in raag durga... no surprises it being confused with Bhoop... coz if you take Durga and start the scale from Ma you get Bhupali, furthermore, if you take Durga and start the scale from Dha, you get Malkauns... this is Murchhana or Graha Bhedam (Carnatic)... it depends on your "Sa".... Identification of this rag in lighter songs is sometimes or shud i say almost difficult... :)

definitely one of the better songs from coke studio india..the western arrangement done in the beginning doesnt do full justice to raag durga being sung by bombay jayashree as the chord progression leans towards charukeshi a bit more.when ustad rashid khans part kicks in the arrangement sounds more aligned to his set of notes.still,its great to see the real classical talent of india showcased on this platform.it was high time after all the bollywood stuff..

The house band did a poor job in coke studio india and leslie lewis was never the person for this job. i wont mind if CSI produces better music than CSP, for it me it just means more great songs on my playlist, but im not that confident that much will change under lewis. he is just an overrated, media savy, confused musician who took the word fusion for literally fusion.
