  • turn it up and make your ears bleed.

  • you do know the song is actually called The Real Me dont you?

  • @Candyflozza yes. i titled it "Can you see the Real Me?" cause it was a slideshow for Keith moon and he had all different sides of his personality. so i thought it was fitting. Can you see the real side of him is what i was aiming for.

  • @foreverWHOfan kool

  • @foreverWHOfan There was no "real" Keith Moon, at least according to Alice Coooper.

  • To whoever put this up, THANKS. Great collection of pic`s,for real. Im a big Moon/Who fan. Not many motels would take Keith, they were afraid he would blow up there toilets w/dynamite. Or maybe drive his car off into the pool. I would give 5 years off my life to go back and hang out with all them. Fu@%K#n Awesome ! cause we all know you cant have fun like that today.

  • When I hit the lottery, I'm going to buy me Pictures of Lily drum kit. Seriously, before I even think of getting a Ferrari.

  • @SherriannMiller

That's because people in Austin still appreciate good music.

LIVE MUSIC CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!

  • One of the most ass-kickingest songs ever produced...

  • I got pulled over by a cop for cranking up this song loud & proud.

  • @bucky468 Wow! I crank up the music all the time in Austin, TX while driving down the street... and have never been stopped!

  • One of my 20 all time favorite songs and u wanna know why ? John Entwhistle, that's why !! THE best bass player who ever lived ! The bass licks in this song are off the charts of anything I've ever heard. Enjoy your peace and bliss John, I'm sure you and Lennon, along with Morrison, Moon, and Hendrix got one hell of a band somewhere up there. Long may you thrive John !

  • This is one of the best Who songs ever. EVER.

  • so good a song

  • Possibly the most underrated Who song

  • Bassgasm!

Just thought I'd point that out...

  • They should have gone like Zeppelin and broken up. It's not The Who without Keith. They were going for solo careers anyway.

  • keith moon was started to get bad towards there later albums the drugs and alcohol took away what made keith moon keith moon

  • @malice1337 Actually towards the extreme end, he was getting better acording to the rest of the band. He was actually trying to turn around his life, considering he died of an overdose on a drug that was supposed to get rid of alcohol withdrawl.

  • one of my top 5 favorite bass tracks.

  • MOTHER PREACHER

    WANT SOME CHICKEN//////

  • Real WHO?

    /watch?v=Sj4zj5p3lM8

  • Keith mon never practiced, weird at first but, you cant teach this shit, even this to yourself !! XD whaaataa legend

  • Keith Moon....Best Drummer ever....Any questions?

  • People can tallk all the shit they want about him being out of control and lack of discipline but this song has just about my favorite drum work from any rock song from any era. Been some great guys to sit behind the kid (Pert, Hakim et. al.) But Moon flat out tore the shit out of this song. Since I was in jr. high in the 70s this song has been good for a straight up adrenelin rush & still is! Toss in The Ox, one of the most talented musicians rock has produced & just say let it rip!

  • Nobody is sexier than Keith Moon! He is a drum God.

  • Keith and John together are a concert! Add Roger's vocals, and you're on a feakin' amazing ride!!!

  • Keith Moon is the finest drummer that has ever graced this planet. He is a genious on this track. The most amazing drumming that I have had the privilage to listen to.

  • THE BEST

  • DL the audio from this track at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • if i could live one day like keith moon did, i could die a happy man.........

  • keith you will be missed

  • Entwistle's bass line is like an extended solo through the entire song!

  • @johnstephenalbert hes on fire !!

  • @johnstephenalbert I actually dropped down to make the same comment you did...and you already said it ... so thumbs up brother....

  • John Entwhistle como siempre tocando 20165461020234 notas por segundo... <3

  • God bring them back

  • Pete actually always referred to this song as "Can you see the real me" so I find that to be the more fitting title.

  • People say you aren't born with talent but I know for a fact John Entwhistle is not a 1000 years old. and that alone proves that saying wrong! The man, nay the legend may have passed but will never be forgotten! RIP OX

  • "Behind his crazy, drugtaking image Keith was a deep philosophical man with a highly interesting view on life." - Cynthia Lennon

  • foreverWHOfan : Thanks You

  • could very well be the greatest rock and roll song of all time

  • Who hates tThe Who? Go kill yourself if you said "I Do!!"

  • @todd291022 i just searched Keith Moon, The Who, etc etc. it as a while ago...but to get some of them you have to go to like page 20 or something when you search in google or another search engine, you know?

  • @foreverWHOfan do you know how many photos you uploaded?

  • @jbuck594 no. but you can count them. ;P

  • @foreverWHOfan I think it was 35 or 36. I tried keeping count the whole time, which i did, but i forgot if the number was 35 or 36 at the end. I think it is 36. lulz

  • awesome. i love it. XD where did u find all the great pics?

  • Yeah yeah, Keith, but this song is totally JOHN.

  • from Douglas Sutherland's 'Debretts English Gentleman " - jobs for a gentleman's son ...drummer in a rock band ...

  • bass pwnage.

  • Love those Keith pics! <3

  • I am a forever WHO man as welll---rock on..

  • QUADROPHENIA!! :)

  • the drumroll at :16 is epic.

  • Nobody fills me with more emotion through music than the Who. Nobody can scream like Roger. If it wasn't for the Beatles the Who would easily be the best band ever in my opinion.

  • @duffenstein They would have been the Greatest of the 60's too if it also weren't for the Stones. They're still top six of all Rock history.

  • R.I.P. Keith Moon, no one can tell me otherwise, he may not have been the best drummer, but he certainly had the most unique personality & aura about him, just like Ringo Starr!

  • epic on quadropheina

  • the song that makes it happen,so cool...

  • Can you see the REAL me?

  • The tracks between the paving stones like rivers of flowing veins, strange people peepin' from behind every window pane, the girl I used to love lives in this yellow house yesterday she pased me by she doesn't wanna kow me now...

  • The finest drummer that has, and ever will, grace this planet.

  • If you guys like this song, please check out our new Who tribute band:

    The Who Revue!

We've got some new live clips up on YouTube, including The Real Me. Let us know what you think!

  • MODS

  • The best bass player and drummer of their generation

  • @shovelthumbs78

You might like Gypsy and Sunrise by the "original" Uriah Heep. Some one up loaded some vids here on you tube and used the studio version of the songs. Gary Thain was right up there with Ox.

  • @isodude1 will do, thanks mate

  • @shovelthumbs78 nah...greatest of all time

  • @shovelthumbs78 they both have styles that are impossible to play like you can fake it but you cant make it its not like john paul jones btw who is underrated hes a classic bass player and bonham alot of drummers have tried using his style with their own like john theodore mars volta

  • I could watch that vid over and over. Great on all counts.

  • I can't think of many Who songs that showcase Keith's drumming and John's bass more than this one, but Quadrophenia was great for that!! Think of it, 3 instruments and one vocal!!!

  • @MrCrosstiewalker Four instruments - don't forget Townshend's keyboard plaing.

  • Did Townshend and Moon really write this amazing bass part? I don't think so... The credits say Townshend/Moon but the bass line is what really makes this song and it's got ENTWISTLE written all over it!

  • @sqwuade

According to Wikipedia the bass line wasn't really planned to be like this, Entwistle "joked around" (!) on the first take and they decided to keep it.

  • When you're a Jet your the top cat in town the heavy weight kid with the gold metal crown...

  • @farshorestrade

Where's that line from? Somewhat fits...

  • @TheAbbeyroadfan I know. i made it Can You see the Real Me? cause of all the different pictures where he was a drummer and then the home life or whatever. and its supposed to be like can you see his true personality...you know?

  • @foreverWHOfan According to the Wikipedia article about this song:

"Townshend has always referred to it as "Can You See the Real Me", rather than the more accepted abbreviated title."

  • @TheAbbeyroadfan wanker...

  • @marcchainb fuck you asshole. he screwed up the title.

  • @TheAbbeyroadfan Why the fuck would you care about that? He only added a few words. By the way, The Who were rock n rollers, not teachers, FUCKING WANKER!

  • @marcchainb don't fucking call me a wanker.

  • @TheAbbeyroadfan WANKER, WANKER, WANKER!

  • @marcchainb your all fucking wankers

  • @chris26ww2 Actually Chris, I think you´r right.

  • @TheAbbeyroadfan Townshend refers to the song as 'Can You see the real me' and he wrote it so i think he should know

  • @jbassman666 oh yeah, i guess

  • @TheAbbeyroadfan actually I recall reading somewhere that Townshend himself always referred to the song as "Can You See the Real Me," so it's really just whether you feel like calling it how it appears on the album or how Pete called it.

  • kieth moon best fucking rock drummer all time hands down..'

  • @vaneglorius oh ginger baker(creams drummer) would give moon a run for his money but it would be close

  • The bass is RIPPING on this! I knew Entwhistle was incredible, but DAMNIT! Moon is, let's face, absolutely destroying his kit right here - and it sounds AWESOME! Let's not forget Roger, here. His voice is as solid as ever, and Townshend is awesome as always. This song is truly a song that needs to be heard much, much more.

  • Anyone know of a live Who video of this song with Keith playing drums??

  • The....................Who???!!!!

  • the best i never heard!

  • R.I.P moon the loon R.I.P

  • Thanks for the memories! I loved the vid.

  • WHOOOOAA DOCTAAAA!!!

  • LoveLoveLove the wild rebelious feel of this song.... and the insane bass line too, of course. Each member of the band seems to be really "going all out," but that bass is truely from another planet.

The guitar, esp at the beginning, seems to me to be a prototype punk riff...did The Who help start punk? Can anyone with more musical knowledge than me comment on this?

While I'm at it, who is the woman with Keith from 0:26 to 0:29? Love to have a bird like that in my nest.

  • @radtech21 Absolutely. Many people credit the Who as being an inspiration for punk, esp songs like My Generation. The Sex Pistols even covered Substitute. Green Day also credited Quadrophenia as being one of their inspirations for doing concept albums recently.

  • Bloody Amazeing!

  • greatest bassline in history.

  • Keith Moon is fucking man! One of the best drummers by far!

  • That bass is fucking awsome even today. Truely the best album The Who everr created.

  • That opening bassline

best rhythm section in the univers !

  • 2:22. that, my friends, is rock and roll.

  • Brass by John, I think

  • Is it me or is john entwistles tone like a mother fucking lightsaber :)

  • perfect!

  • John Entwistle is indeed the greatest bass player of all time. This song proves it.

  • Love John Entwhistle's bass line on this

  • Fucking great song, real nice bass

  • Pure Bass and Drums

  • the WHO FOREVER!

  • to mookie1968: I never heard it said so eloquently before, but that really says it, doesn't it? RIP Keith and John...

  • Quadrophenia has to be one of the greatest pieces of art ever created. . .

  • @eveningtsar agreed. one of the best rock albums ever, in my opinion!

  • XCELLENT

  • I have this LP!

  • Ketih and John were not the greatest rhythm section on the planet, because they were from another world.

  • @mookie1968 They were not the Greatest Rythm Section - They were Soloists.

  • @CentraCross I read Roger saying essentially that.

  • RIP Keith and John!!!

  • is that color in the start blue or purple?

  • its purple.

  • John Entwistle at his best

  • Why dont people write songs like this. If you think about it, todays bands cant touch the who. In this song an about every song of the who, it has kicks ass drumming, singing, bass playing, and guitar playing.

  • word!

  • les meilleurs dans le domaine !!!! ;)

  • god's hand @ the wheel, don't care if Who is driving the bus in that case

  • Kieth Moon..... a complete and total drumming genius! .... nobody can ever match him.!

  • RIP Keith!

glad I got to see you go mad a few times!

  • quality, without a doubt

  • A Who classic, I just wish I got to see Moon perform in my lifetime. What about Entwistle' performance on this song? Those are some of the most insane bass lines ever, they totally make the song! W.A.S.P did a really good cover of the song.

  • Keith reminds me of a 60s Charlie Chaplin in many ways.

  • Great stuff!

  • I've listened to this song for so many years, and have been knocked out by Entwistle's bassline to it. Years later, I read an interview with John and he said he was just fooling around with it...he was surprised that it made it on to the album!

  • "Can you see the real me, can you? The cracks between the paving stones Look like rivers of flowing veins. Strange people who know me Peeping from behind every window pane. The girl I used to love Lives in this yellow house. Yesterday she passed me by, She doesn't want to know me now. Can you see the real me, can you?" Who's who?
