More than wow.I don t care about her time with tom whatever .I dont know her private life, dont give a shit. all I know is she's remarkable I'm in love all over again.Thank you for posting these great videos. If you're on this site,it must be because you feel like I do.

  • Kick ass song.

  • Ran into RLJ as i fully intended at a Shoreline Grateful Dead show at the height of their tour days 89-91, Rickey was performing on one of the 3stages that day and went just knowing somehow i would get the chance to meet her to tell her how special her music was . Walking about there came this small trenchcoated waif ith guitar in tow wending her way thru the crush unnoticed by the deaheads as she went . Signalled her to stop , spoke softly to her & got the chance there to say thank you girl!

  • Can someone please post more from this great album..Rodeo Girl and Atlas's Marker if anyone could please.

  • Absolutely stunning!

  • 2days music is filled with samplings, drum machines, voice fixing, watever happened to musicians playing real instruments...wat went wrong?

  • 2days music is filled with samplings, drum machines, watever happened to musicians playing real instruments...wat went wrong?

  • Always wanted to marry this woman, just because of the way she sang. Wish I could have met her just once.

  • sheesh she is 35 here and never looked better thank this. Perfect

  • My faveourite song of hers bar none (We Belong a close second) but this video is her worst, WTF?

  • Never lets us down!!!!!!!! Love her!

  • Sigh. I love her so much I named my cat after her.

  • i get kinda teary when the couple and the hawk, hair blowing, and the guitar, and the old man...

a wild wild one. sweet .

  • Oh PLEASE, can some kind person post ALL Ricki Lee Jone's ALBUMS...saw her in Melbourne, with Rob Wasserman, both brilliant, but 'live' doesn't 'translate' when it's Not Live, and I can't afford to keep replacing all my 'played to death', vinyl, and stolen R.L.J.

  • hot hot hot

  • I think if there were no other singers than Ricky Lee and Bonnie Raitt, I'd be perfectly satisfied! Ricky Lee's heart and soul is in every note.

  • Uhmm,,,,Just love it !

  • If ever a song didn't need a video - this is it.

    The music is sufficiently evocative.

  • .......ahhhh going to start searching out a vid that has no retarded ad in the bgnng so I can actually enjoy the song I wanted to hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is pure magic!

  • Manchester in July... woohoo!!!!! Can't wait

  • IT'S A DESERT BECAUSE IT'S A DESERT.

  • who is the man? Floyd Westermann?

  • When Rickie Lee Jones sings, we hear the unfiltered pain and joy that she so evidently knows well. And it is expressed so perfectly that one can't help but bleed a little right along with her.

  • @miuzu2u I have listened to Rickie Lee since her debut. I think is was about 15 then, I know her story, & I love her all the more for it. I have all of & her music, always have had...her pain, suffering, blood sweat & tears, got me through my own...pain/suffering/blood/sweat/tears.

  • @miuzu2u well said

  • Magic-

  • absolutely gorgeous.

  • re: Thirty Years -- I still choose to drink from my past -- torn and bloody, yeah -- but Wisdom always comes with a price -- well written, my friend --

  • When ya got it

ya use it. No brag, no shag, bo bread

    no bag.

Just Mojave clear, pureass vision as righteous as it gets

    daddy.

  • Thirty Years

    One day you wake up

    talking about your dreams

    then some reminds you

that over thirty years have past

and you are still holding on

to the wine in the glass

    poured over thirty years ago

    M.S.Morrison

  • A 30 Year Love Affair...

  • the chorus at 1:02 and 2:25

    we come to the river

we'll walk away from all this now

    come to the water

we'll walk away from all this now.

Those lines, that harmony, simple beauty, sung personally. Learned a lot about music and poetry from RL. She's more honest than I can be. Rickie Lee Sweet is right.

  • amo esta voz .a esta mujer

  • Flying Cowboys was the last good album she made - wtf happended next? RLJ died with the eighties. From there on there were just bad cover after bad cover. Drugs, alcohol and religion ruined her. Still her first 4 albums are classic and will hopefully always find an audience.

  • sorry about the spelling!

i use too much spell check. and then impact of course not a spelling error

but a typing error, their tho, thats spelling, and the last sentance doesnt

    make alot of sense.

well, this is a beautiful video for a beautiful song. Walter Becker on bass,

Peter Erskine on drums, Sal Bernardi on guitar....

  • I thought I saw you walking by the river....

  • What a talent!

One of my favorite artists of all time.

  • love u forever Leigh (ain't no better "mother" than u ...in all eternity)

  • Plainly stated............. a great tune to smoke a joint to. It grooves and Rikki Lee kicks all the modern female vocalists asses.

  • My favorite Ricky Lee Jones song. Absolutely brilliant. Never seen this video. Beautiful!

  • I always loved this woman!

    I have all her cds

  • @Kool2bbop

    Give them back !!!

  • my she is simply brilliant... amazing entertainer... so unique and fresh... even as she aged... she stayed "real" and "herself" it seems... she always had something deep and interesting to say

  • Rickie Lee Sweet.

  • God is science!

  • @jeffdeanable God is music!

  • Rickie Lee Jones, how great it is to have respectable women like her in the music field. She's so cool. Love that guitar, those country-like single string notes.

  • NEW MEXICO?

  • sheryl crow wishes she could sing on her caliber.

  • @angelsrherenow VERY well said :) !!

  • @angelsrherenow Understatement. Most all of them wish they could. Not just the voice. The songs.

  • @angelsrherenow No need to try to put Crow down, even if they weren't completely different singers.

  • A great tune to smoke one to.

  • This is a a great cd!!!

  • i love this video. anyone know who directed it?

  • when pirates came out in 81. my nieghbor got it. she let me sit on her step and listen to it as she went to do errands. she said when i was done to lock the door. she came home about 4hrs later and i was still listening. she just shock her head and said i was wacked.

  • Where is Rickie anyway. I miss her!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love this album. Hate this video.

  • Wow... that's from the heart. God truly speaks to us through the artists He places here.

  • @Huntersolson420 Don't bring god into this. Rickie Lee Jones made this song, not god.

  • @nicck I bet that's not what Rickie would say... you should ask her sometime.

  • @Huntersolson420 I don't really care. I don't want her to be simplified into a vehicle for some invisible fictional man's speech. Her and other artists are, to me, much more important than any perceived god because they're the ones actually saying something.

  • @nicck and when she'd dead and gone who'll give two fucks in 50-100 years about her and what she said and what you thought of her...nobody.

  • @milesmuhldoon1 Same goes for you and your comment.

  • @nicck shit, too! at this very moment their is a sculptor had at work chiseling my likeness out of a slab for all to bow down and worship for a thousand years and then some. I Have Spoken!

  • miles, you never know what history decides matters.

who would imagine the Doors would ever be discussed,

or that sinatra would be less known that tony bennett.

jones had a great impace on her time, and how people sing, and

while people are not often acknowledged in their time, especially if thier

work is not contemporary, later they are understood. ,

but yes, who cares, when she's dead, people talking about her or not,

she will still be as dead as anyone Ceasar.

  • @MrBusterfoot Buster, watch for errors in your spelling.

  • Oh my god, it's VEVO!! OUCH! What have they done to this video? It's all out of sync & looked much better when originally on You Tube. . . before the "takeover" began.

She's so talented & soulful. The lyrics are brilliant.

  • Love you Rickie. What a clip. XXXXX
