Ran into RLJ as i fully intended at a Shoreline Grateful Dead show at the height of their tour days 89-91, Rickey was performing on one of the 3stages that day and went just knowing somehow i would get the chance to meet her to tell her how special her music was . Walking about there came this small trenchcoated waif ith guitar in tow wending her way thru the crush unnoticed by the deaheads as she went . Signalled her to stop , spoke softly to her & got the chance there to say thank you girl!

Flying Cowboys was the last good album she made - wtf happended next? RLJ died with the eighties. From there on there were just bad cover after bad cover. Drugs, alcohol and religion ruined her. Still her first 4 albums are classic and will hopefully always find an audience.
