i got the Xbox 360 version but it's got lots of things that just made me rage quit.being one of the four fighting games that came out in 2009 i like Street Fighter 4 and BlazBlue:Calamity Trigger better. i never played King of Fighters XII but it looks like shit compared to the other KOF games.

Great video, I love Tekken. I've been playing it since the first one. I have all of them, except the first one. Unfortunately, my copy of Tekken 1 broke, but I'll get again. I already have this game, but I'll hit the arcades for it, and get it on PSP.

@XShaolinCowboyX90 If you have all the tekkens except the first then you have the first. . . how you may ask. . .well the PS2 port of tekken 5 has arcade perfect copys of tekken 1,2,and 3 on it

You got a point there, b/c since #5 has 1, 2, and 3, but I prefer to have the console version of the games b/c you can adjust the controls and the boss characters aren't so cheap (which annoys people), while it still keeps the challenge satisfying. Then again, I like the original Tekken b/c that was my first game on the playstation. Even though it's an old game, but it's also what started its popularity.

Its quite simple. There are plenty of times in the game when you put in a comand the exact same way and two sepwret actions will happen. Its actualy a falt of over development. It just shows how many posibilitys there are in the game.

Can you tell me an example? Which commands? I never had this problem before.

simple. take Alisa. You hold back to block, and you press both punch and kick to do a throw. however if your blocking an attack and comand for a throw she will taunt, and then you get hit. Now i know what your thinking, "get over it you noob" ha ha, but the thing is, arcade games are a diferent bread of game then home games. and the fact is 90 percent of play on an arcade game is by a noob.  like i said, its just a falt of over development. In many ways its a good thing. 4 out of 5 is still good

Er, that's not Alisa's taunt. Every taunt in the game is used by pressing 3 attack buttons, so you don't taunt by accident and eat a big move. back+punch+kick is Alisa's high punch parry. If you use that move right when you are about to be hit by a high punch or anything similar, Alisa deflects the attack and counters.

Um. . . mabe they changed the controls for the console. but  i the machine we were reviewing had that comand for a taunt. she sticks jher toung out and laughs. If you dont beleve me i will be more then happy to make a video and send it to you.

I've been playing Tekken since I was 6 years old. The first one I played was Tekken 2 on the Sony PlayStation. I always played as P. Jack, Kuma, Heihachi, Yoshimitsu, or Kazuya. I think it's cool that your making new reviews. I agree that this game gets a 5 out of 5!

nah. its a play style thats common here in Indy. Basicly you keep your hands moving but you are hitting only one buton (or two if needed) at a time. Its masking simple movement with movement. Im sure it seems silly, but thats how we play here :)

Not really. VR may have came first, but VR is all about counters and has one of the most complicated fighing engines in any fighting game. Tekken is the polar opposite, its a game that is known for being a button masher, and having a very simple fight engine.

Unlike Tekken, all the characters in Virtua Fighter are are fresh and as interesting as they where back in 1993. Tekken characters like Julia, Yoshimistsu are getting boring. Also the characters in Tekken looked like they have been pumped full of steroids where Virtua Fighter characters look more natural.

Whatever dude..Virtua Fighter sucks! The fighting methid is way to slow and boring. And the caracters are generic. In every fighting game you have recurrent caracters... So yeah maybe Julia and Yoshimitsu are the same but in Tekken 5 & 6 they added a lot a new caracters.

In the end all I know is that people who like VR usually don't like other kinds of fighting games!!

Oh and FYI the VR machine at my arcade doesn't make any money..The only reason it stil there is because that stupid machine can't be converted.

I heard somewhere that Tekken was originally supposed to be a over the top parody of VF. When you look at the original Tekken that might not be far off.

I'm kidding but an excellent review, you sort of sold me on Tekken 6, I was pretty content just playing Tekken 5 at home but I think I'll stop by a few lasting arcades around here in NJ to see if I can find Tekken 6.

Like there is a sheep stage were you kick the sheep around like rag dolls. and the Character Bob is funny as hell. Its little things like this (of witch there are many) that makes me call the visuals "humorous"

Excellent review, certainly one of the best yet.

The only thing that really sucks is that Namco wants $14k for one of these cabinets which is why it's so hard to find at arcades since few can afford that on one title.

Last I checked for a real cabinet (which is the best thing to play it on), that was the asking price. Maybe they have come down a little bit in a month or two but not much. Perhaps with the console version finally coming out it will drop considerably.

If you do want to save a buck by buying just the hardware, it will still set you back a few thousand dollars. Namco doesn't understand the concept of affordability sadly.
