You should NEVER hold your breathe while scuba diving because air under water becomes more dence. so if you acend with a full breathe of air you can get 4 different lung injerys.

this scuba diver is not holding her breath you can clearly see in small bursts she is exhaling through her noes which is the small bubbles coming out from under her mask.
