I've taken Kermits quote when I get annoyed with someone being dumb(like saying Michael Jackson was innocent),I yell "THATS A BALD FACED LIE!I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT!"
I love Piggy, and her being herself is what makes her really awesome, but every now and then, she needs to be put in her place. And really, how long did Piggy expect Kermit to put up with her stunts?
There was a time that Kermit was fed up with Miss Piggy karate chopping him on occasion and so the only way was to fire her after she pulled such as stunt only to unofficially be replaced by Loretta Swit. It was then the Loretta struggled to tell Kermit how important Miss Piggy was to the show and that the show would not survive without her presence. (Indeed, it probably wouldn't considering the fact that Kermit and Miss Piggy were key muppets on the show over Fozzie, Gonzo and Rowlf.)
I found this awesome Miss Piggy ringtone! If you love the pig-frog romance, this is for you. Hit up amazon and search for "Deblume Miss Piggy"or type "Miss Piggy Deblume" into itunes ringtones on your iPhone.
@musiclover77able Actually, Walt Disney himself was a wizard at catering to both kids and adults back in his prime. The really early works catered ESPECIALLY to adult needs, Disney's "3 Little Pigs" actually symbolized what to do during the Depression! When he died, THAT is when his company began to go for mainly children. Without their genius fathers, both Mickey Mouse and Kermit the Frog are just two lost souls in the highway of children's entertainment.
Ha! It's about TIME Kermit fired that PIG! She has had her way for FAR too long! It's sad that it took something like this to make Kermit SO angry he did this, but SHE DESERVES IT!!
@PadawanLinea Kermit saying WHAT?! is exactly the same reaction British Sci-Fi Hero Doctor Who says when disaster hits him >;)P Except when Doctor Who does it, His reaction is lot Funnier
@LATEXDOLLTOMBOY While I love Doctor Who, not everything is comparable. "What?" is a perfectly normal reaction. And If you're referring to 10, who is quite adorable, he was doing it about 25 years *after* this was filmed. And any fan should know, he's "The Doctor," not "Doctor Who."
@steadfasttinrobot Which DOCTOR WHO are you referring to? Was the muppet Show on USA tv during early 1970's at same time Tom Bakers 4TH Doctor Who was on? He is the earlyest Doctor Who I have heard use that WHAaaaaaT? exclamation in such a way, loooong before, not after Kermit used it when hearing he was *aledgedly married* to Miss Piggy
@LATEXDOLLTOMBOY or was it the 1960's 2ND DOCTOR WHO (Patrick Troughton) that was the earlyest DOCTOR WHO that made that WHAaaaaaT?! catchphrase The DOCTOR is so well known for,...which there was no Muppet Show since The 2nd Doctor Who was filmed in 1960? Many DOCTOR WHO fans knows that the BBC had destroyed much of those vintage and classic DOCTOR WHO footage and the tapes during those early episodes
@LATEXDOLLTOMBOY "What?" can't be a catchphrase. It's one very common word. Jim Henson didn't steal anything. There is no need to be so defensive. I said *if* you were referring to 10, not "since 10 is the only one you could possibly be referring to." Also, I would ask what the destruction of the early footage had to do with *anything,* but I would prefer not to sully this clip with any more arguing. You're right. Jim Henson so totally stole the word 'what.' How presumptuous of him!
@steadfasttinrobot Dont see why not / or how that What? couldnt be used as catch phrase,Look at how The Simpsons Homer uses his D'oHH!! whenever somethings happens to him, ;-)To answer your question what the destruction of the early footage of those Early Doctor Who films has to do with anything,All of those early films that was on tapes many collectors would love to have instead of having to rely on ordering through the internet todays cheaply made, easily scratched Anti-copy proofed DVD
@musiclover77able And let's not forget all the movies that happened in 1977 like "Annie Hall", "Raggady Ann & Andy", "The Rescuers", "Saturday Night Fever", "The Good Bye Girl", "The Deep", "Smokey & The Bandit", "The Spy Who Loved Me", "Julia", "Black Sunday", "Cinderella", "The Hobbit", "MacArthur", "Pete's Dragon", "Rollercoaster", "Network", "Kingdom of the Spiders", "Star Wars", "Close Encounters", etc.
@musiclover77able WOW! It's nice to see I'm not the only one! This proves that the Muppet Show really did touch a generation of fans Xers and Yers. If you were a kid, like I was, back in 1981, '82, '83, you weren't ready for Match Game. You weren't even ready for The Benny Hill Show. THE MUPPET SHOW WAS KING! Even Family Feud surveyed Kermit and Piggy as top of the list for the question of 'Name your favorite muppet.' Sadly, Rowlf the dog didn't make the list.
@musiclover77able Actually, my favorite muppet was Rowlf the dog (believe me, I always had a crush of him). In this episode however, he is seldom, if not rarely, seen. In the European version, he is seen with a cast of muppets preparing to sing "Auld Lang Syne" for Miss Piggy but was edited out in the states. Still, without Piggy & Kermit, there wouldn't be a Muppet Show or something like that. But I still agree, Piggy fits all of that criteria: charisma, glamour, style, etc .
@musiclover77able Actually, my favorite muppet was Rowlf the dog (believe me, I always had a crush of him). In this episode however, he is seldom, if not rarely, seen. Still, without Piggy & Kermit, there wouldn't be a Muppet Show or something like that.
@musiclover77able Believe me, she was huge back then and in my opinion, should have had her own series as she deserved to have one like kermit had here. She had the talent, charisma, and charm but Jim Henson didn't see it that way as he was more interested in producing the absymal Fraggle Rock ( I didn't get HBO back then). Still, it would have been fun to see her in those parodies on a weekly basis as she did in the special ( I was 7 years old then and was a HUGE Muppet Show fan as well).
@musiclover77able Do you recall a special Miss Piggy was on back in 1982 shortly after The Muppet Show got cancelled. It was called "The Fabulous World of Miss Piggy" and featured guest stars John Ritter and Andy Kaufman. At one point she wanted this to be a permament series for the 1982-83 series but network executives said it was only a special. And she went irate and completely destroyed the set at the end. That's how defiant she can become when she dosen't get her way.
@musiclover77able and because of this, they were eventually married after The Muppet Show was cancelled. Their proposal was seen at the end of the movie 'The Muppets Take Manhattan'. Still, I don't know how Kermit could handle/stand Miss Piggy's hi-yah karate smacks. That's usually the lowest part of the show but pale in compasion in any entire episode.
This came from in my opinion the most irritating episode of the muppet show of all time!!! Kermit should have replaced and fired miss piggy years and years ago and replaced her with, uh, that purple lady from the Valentine's Day special.
Ah, a very dim memory from my childhood - the episode where Kermit was speaking French. If I recollect it rightly, he was whispering smth to Miss Piggy in her ear in French and her reaction was so hilarious as far as I remember - she just was shivering with passion with her lips parted as she couldn’t undersaned just a word but she was completely charmed, smth like that. I’m so eager to find it! Does anyone remember this one?
You ever see our favorite Lean, Green, usually Serene Director go NOVA before?! Nah! My boy was PISSED at that Pig, and just not HAVING it no more! I half expected straight CUSSING to fly! You could SEE he wanted to cuss!
"B-but...you can't fire me! I'm the STAR--"
"YOU can be REPLACED!"
DIS-MISSAL, boy! See y he's incharge? THAT is y K-Frog is TOP DOG, people!
Ladies, take a Facebook note: Don't EVER do THAT kinda shit to your man!
I'm surprised to see that Kermit was finally the one wearing the pants in the relationship in this scene! Piggy hardly put up a fight like you'd expect her to.
Whoa, I was sure Kermit was going to suffer some serious physical harm there. Hel-lo! Piggy is dangerous! Has it taken him this long to figure that out?
The reason why Kermit is so scary when he gets angry or full blown pissed off is because we never see him full blown pissed off. Until now, I never thought it was possible.
I never liked Miss Piggy. No, I always thought of Lady Gaga whenever I saw her, and nothing pisses me off more than ego maniacs like her. She was using Kermit, and that's wrong. But to turn a negative story to a positive one..

ROLF! This is the world's most funniest Muppet Show sketch! I saw this on "Jim Henson's Muppet Video: The Kermit and Piggy Story", distributed by Playhouse Video, and I think Kermit wants a divorce from Miss Piggy. I didn't think it would happen so soon, you know.
Dang Miss. Piggy looked real scary back in 'th day.

When Kermit says "I am not kidding!" at 1:21, he sounds like my best friend Neal.

Whoa! Kermit has got guts! He had the nerve to yell at Miss Piggy for something she did behind his back! Shouldnt saw that coming!

I said "I disagree completely" because I don't think Gonzo's that scary to me.
finnishminnow 2 years ago
Yeah, Gonzo may be a thrill-seeking whackjob, but he's not scary.

Me too.

I have never seen Kermit the Frog get so angry with Miss Piggy before. Usually it's Miss Piggy who's mad at Kermit.

I think it's one of my favorite (and hillarious) moments of Kermit & Miss Piggy too, man.
finnishminnow 2 years ago
But Miss Piggy is one of the stars of the show, what'll they do without her.
