  • One word to describe this video. Beautiful.

  • Quelqu'un pourrait-il me donner le nom d'une musique ressemblante a celle-ci qui serait aussi "reposante" !? merci

  • @ZzReevons Of course: listen to "Sicut cervus" by Palestrina, especially in the performance by the same Westminster Choir; or the "Ave verum corpus" by Mozart...

  • @Anormalista89 Merci bien..

  • Was the choir member at the far right of the photo :30-35 in the Kings College Choir at one time? He looks familar.

  • Indeed one of the better performances of this. Thank you.

  • Un parfait équilibre des timbres, des aigus purs, un tempo merveilleusement révélateur, ça fait du bien !

  • My god this is me!

  • @grrrr1. It is not a myth. The last of the castrati of the Sistine Choir can be heard on a CD by Opal/Pearl called The Last Castrato. This piece was written by one of the tenors in the 1600s. However, the modern version heard here wasn't around until the 1930s, I believe. The castrati existed from about 1650 through 1870, after which only a few remained and even fewer were recorded.

  • Truly one of the better performed top brass performance !

  • Excellent quality on this video. The Miserere is one of my all-time favorites, and best of all to me is to hear it performed by a world-class choir of boys and men like Westminster. Thanks for posting this one.

  • I love this miserere mei deus. I always listens to this...

  • This version is actually two version one atop the other. The original was quite different- not the least of which is because the Sistine Chapel choir was the only one to have the score AND the choir consisted of roughly 16 castrati through about 1850 which was notorious for it's alubementi.

  • @Nathan1097

Weren't children specifically castrated to keep their voices throughout life? I don't know if that is just a myth, but it seems very sad.

  • That is so cute at :50 - the little boy on the orange box!

This version is actually two version on top of each other. The original was much different and, when the Sistine chapel choir performed it, not only did they put in alubementi, but they had castrati on soprano and contralto!

  • I love this song!!!! so beutiful and peaceful. I wish I knew what the words ment....

  • @JunzaGal

is the psalm 50 or in the western bible 51 - the one that starts with "have mercy on me"
