@ILuvCaroline These people are all perfectionists, & so their performances will be naturally be note-perfect. Therefore just because we hear them playing the same notes here as on a recording you may have, doesn't mean we're listening to one here. It's really a bit insulting to say this about such professionals. I have been to see them live & they're all most capable of playing their instruments to perfection, live.
@MustaffaCuppa Didnt mean to be disrespectful. I know that alot of times they mime in Europe so I figured that is what this was. But Caro's drum solo doesnt seem to follow. I agree with Vulcan. Doesnt mean I dont like The Corrs.
@MustaffaCuppa Absolutely agree. These aren't drugged-out millionaires, or simpering pseudo-adults who gained their fame via MTV. They're not motivated by fame, concerned about image, or any of that crap. They created what they have by going out and making a living playing their music to people....and of course they're damned good at it.
Amen, billyhunchback...and may good fortune carry me back to that beautiful island soon.
I'm so sorry but I have to agree with some of the people here. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE The Corrs and The Chieftains...but to say that this ONE performance is purely not mimed, one must have not heard the recording of this same music in The Corrs' first album "Forgiven, Not Forgotten." This is the exact same recording played over while they are playing their instruments. Also, I hear electric guitars and kettle drums in the playback, yet those instruments are not on stage. Come on people, ge
@vulcan976 I believe every instrument we hear is actually being played live. There's a whole orchestra way behind them so all the kettle drums etc are being played back there.
@CadJack This song is at least 200 years old. Our Irish band knows it as Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore. There are at least 7 or more verses which describe the pain of an Irish immigrant leaving the shores of Ireland, knowing they'll probably never see it again.
Of course the PROPER name of the tune should be Lough ERNE Shore as 'Erin' is a generic long used word for 'Ireland' - that said it is a grand, haunting tune.
The music is always beautiful, and when watching the video, you realize "that ain't all studio make-up. Them girls are beautiful too!" And, I am sure they would stay beautiful without the make-up, they just use it for the lighting!
I dont care if this is dubbed or whatever, ITS great and beautiful and touches the heart. Long Live Ireland ,its music, its people and this vid. Thanks for posting!!(I hope it gets played at ma wake, lol) and Im a yank lol
No, I have seen an interview with the Corrs on UK telly, where they admit that they lip sing. So it must be playbacks...haven't you ever seen them sing and play and then all of a sudden the music stops? LOL....
great fake instrument playing by the old people. The guy @ 1:04 sitting by sharon is going 400 mph with his instrument. Then the clown @ 1:42 is playing his flute and moving his fingers so fast. Sharon and andrea are the only ones who are playing. the guy with the bodrum is playing live.
hold up u 4 starters tats my uncles band and trust me there one of the best. Can you do any better fool. playin his flute( its a thin whistle) and thats why he is one of the best in the world.CAN YOU DO BETTER? i dont think so!
You obvously don't play music, do you? The fingers are vibrating to get a tremolo effect. Like a vibrato. Same with both instruments. Like a hammer-on when playing guitar, and shaking of the hand with a finger on a note. Same effect.
lol this is so a recording of their original cd version....the voices chords at the end are exactly the same as the cd version, and then they use the exact same music as the credits role HAHA they so dodged this, which isnt like them at all, atleast we know they can really play the music if they have to :D
sorry to be so picky, but I think you're trying to say she's an angel (with which I agree) - the reason I am correcting you is that to suggest that she is an angle is to suggest that she is "anglo" or english/british - which is most insulting to many Gaels from Ireland. She is an angelic Irish girl, but not the other type.
@STEPcoach There are lots of Irish Gaels who were born and grew up in Britain (like me). And most English/British people have Gaelic or Celtic ancestry somewhere along the line. But I sympathise with your comment. I always get intensely annoyed whenever someone asks me "are you English?" just because I have an "English" way of speaking. It's better to ask "are you British?", because less people will feel insulted.
Im sorry but its just bad sync. I looked at one of the other videos uploaded by this person and the audio is out of sync to the video. Or it got messed up while uploading it.
If you have a trained musical ear you can pick out every part so no it's NOT some background recording to which the musicians are miming. The picture is slightly out of sync but that happens - so what? I'm enjoying it for the music!
No buddy, you do not need musical ears to realize that this a recorded version playing in the background, just a fan of The Corrs. If you were, you would know that this is the exact CD version from their Forgiven, Not Forgotten album. I've listened enough to know.
That can't be the version that was heard at the concert, no question there. Anyone got the original version, where you can actually HEAR the Cheftains?
But:
Who was that attractive irish female beside Gabriel Byrne?
what was she playing? If it was the tin whistle it's Andrea Corr, if it was the violin it's Sharon, if it was something else I don't who you are talking about.
Yeah, I have to throw my voice in with the rest - this video is simply overlaid with the album version of "Erin Shore." I'm not sure where you got the file from, but I recommend removing this until you can find the original audio track.
