  • Gaelic.

  • What language was the first man speaking?

  • @LPnRockmusic Gaelic (or Irish to those that live in Ireland).

  • Best Ever!!! Lovely : ( don't wanna cry...

  • THAT IS THE REAL AUDIO?? NO WAY!!!!

WHERE IS IT !!!!!! ANYONE KNOWS IF THE SOUND OF THIS CONCERT IS CORRECT????

  • i flippin love the harmonies with the tin whistles in this song!!!one of my many favourites!!!would love to hear the Corrs and The Chieftans with a Planxty Irwin duet!!!

  • Can anybody tell me which event this is from ??

  • I'm chinese... but I always wanted to be an irish...

  • yea totally a playback...but why do they always do that? That sucks..plus you can tell by Caro's drum solo...and why are they gorillas onstage?

  • @ILuvCaroline These people are all perfectionists, & so their performances will be naturally be note-perfect. Therefore just because we hear them playing the same notes here as on a recording you may have, doesn't mean we're listening to one here. It's really a bit insulting to say this about such professionals. I have been to see them live & they're all most capable of playing their instruments to perfection, live.

  • @MustaffaCuppa Didnt mean to be disrespectful. I know that alot of times they mime in Europe so I figured that is what this was. But Caro's drum solo doesnt seem to follow. I agree with Vulcan. Doesnt mean I dont like The Corrs.

  • @MustaffaCuppa Absolutely agree. These aren't drugged-out millionaires, or simpering pseudo-adults who gained their fame via MTV. They're not motivated by fame, concerned about image, or any of that crap. They created what they have by going out and making a living playing their music to people....and of course they're damned good at it.

Amen, billyhunchback...and may good fortune carry me back to that beautiful island soon.

  • @ILuvCaroline The gorillas are from the Macnas Theatre Co. The perform in costumes like that.

  • I'm so sorry but I have to agree with some of the people here. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE The Corrs and The Chieftains...but to say that this ONE performance is purely not mimed, one must have not heard the recording of this same music in The Corrs' first album "Forgiven, Not Forgotten." This is the exact same recording played over while they are playing their instruments. Also, I hear electric guitars and kettle drums in the playback, yet those instruments are not on stage. Come on people, ge

  • @vulcan976 I believe every instrument we hear is actually being played live. There's a whole orchestra way behind them so all the kettle drums etc are being played back there.

  • since i discovered the corrs... i feel my heart irish.... i love andrea...love all of them... all the instruments...love their music

  • So obviously mimed. They aint playing.

  • Does this song also have another name? Because it sounds just like Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore.

  • @Wademedic63: Indeed...Words were added to the old tune to create "Shamrock Shore"...

  • @dagda54 Ah ok. Thanks very much for the reply

  • when I get married, I want to walk down the aisle to this song...it's gorgeous!

  • @Prov31112 I used this for my wedding and it was great. I like your screen name.

  • anyone know where this may be available on cd?

  • This song just makes me want to know Ireland, I've never been there.

  • This song is what my family to Irish music. What a wonderful composition. Does anyone know how far back this goes? Is new or old?

  • @CadJack This song is at least 200 years old. Our Irish band knows it as Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore. There are at least 7 or more verses which describe the pain of an Irish immigrant leaving the shores of Ireland, knowing they'll probably never see it again.

  • who's the speaker, I like him, he's actor also ,no?

    Who can tell me?

  • Gabriel Byrne

  • thank you!!! is he irish? I am french, and I saw him acting as a german character!

  • yes he is Irish. :)

  • he's an actor yes...michael something can't remember his last name...you've seen him in robin hood and the crow and many more of course

  • Of course the PROPER name of the tune should be Lough ERNE Shore as 'Erin' is a generic long used word for 'Ireland' - that said it is a grand, haunting tune.

  • The music is always beautiful, and when watching the video, you realize "that ain't all studio make-up. Them girls are beautiful too!" And, I am sure they would stay beautiful without the make-up, they just use it for the lighting!

  • The Chieftains don't DUB.. now drink a few in a a DUBLIN pub maybe.. but no the dub..

  • Why is bigfoot swaying behind the drummer at 4:01?

  • A symbolic reminder of our long past generations The celts I think

  • What is The Gathering? When and where was this filmed?

  • I dont care if this is dubbed or whatever, ITS great and beautiful and touches the heart. Long Live Ireland ,its music, its people and this vid. Thanks for posting!!(I hope it gets played at ma wake, lol) and Im a yank lol

  • amazing

  • And I thought that I was the only one in the world that fancied the Corrs!!

  • Andrea's my personal favourite.

That said, I can also think of few things sexier than a hot babe who plays drums.

    Bloody hell...

  • Sorry man - its got to be Sharon, those high cheekbones, full lips, deep eyes and the violin,

  • This seems Recorded it sounds exactly like the one on the Album!!! Corrs never do PLayback they are always live

  • No, I have seen an interview with the Corrs on UK telly, where they admit that they lip sing. So it must be playbacks...haven't you ever seen them sing and play and then all of a sudden the music stops? LOL....

  • great fake instrument playing by the old people. The guy @ 1:04 sitting by sharon is going 400 mph with his instrument. Then the clown @ 1:42 is playing his flute and moving his fingers so fast. Sharon and andrea are the only ones who are playing. the guy with the bodrum is playing live.

  • hold up u 4 starters tats my uncles band and trust me there one of the best. Can you do any better fool. playin his flute( its a thin whistle) and thats why he is one of the best in the world.CAN YOU DO BETTER? i dont think so!

  • You obvously don't play music, do you? The fingers are vibrating to get a tremolo effect. Like a vibrato. Same with both instruments. Like a hammer-on when playing guitar, and shaking of the hand with a finger on a note. Same effect.

  • This tune actually has gaelic words to it, but it is always done as an instrumental piece for some strange reason.

  • Not always - you have it sung on the Chieftains' Another Country. But it's called Paddy's green shamrock shore. It's in english though...

  • I have to agree, it sounds exactly like the album version!!

  • lol this is so a recording of their original cd version....the voices chords at the end are exactly the same as the cd version, and then they use the exact same music as the credits role HAHA they so dodged this, which isnt like them at all, atleast we know they can really play the music if they have to :D

  • I LOVE THE CORRS!!!

  • lol it's Gabriel Byrne! love this song btw. thanx for posting!!!

  • why didn't they just play it live??

  • CAN'T SEE A BEAUTIFUL WOMEN.,, i HEAR A BEAUTIFUL SONG

  • impresionante

  • this is live performance. know someone who was there..

  • ooo the singer is the most beautiful woman in the world !!!

wow !! so talented musicians !

  • There....is no singer, do u mean Andrea Corr ??

  • yes :)

  • Lough erin shore makes me happy and optimistic for some kind of reason...

does anyone know of similar Irish instrumentals by the chieftains or the corrs?

similar meaning calm and peaceful. (not toss the feathers like)

  • rebel heart by the corrs

  • for OiM27 - it's not instrumental, but if you like this music try Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore. You might recognize the music!

  • why can't hear carolines drum......=(

  • Beautiful song. So well played. I love the Chieftans. RIP Derrek Bell.

  • this is my song n the only one..,

  • She is a true angle. close yur eyes and open yur ears.

  • sorry to be so picky, but I think you're trying to say she's an angel (with which I agree) - the reason I am correcting you is that to suggest that she is an angle is to suggest that she is "anglo" or english/british - which is most insulting to many Gaels from Ireland. She is an angelic Irish girl, but not the other type.

  • erm, I dont think so, I think it was just a misspelling of angel and nothing to do with Anglo!!!

  • @STEPcoach There are lots of Irish Gaels who were born and grew up in Britain (like me). And most English/British people have Gaelic or Celtic ancestry somewhere along the line. But I sympathise with your comment. I always get intensely annoyed whenever someone asks me "are you English?" just because I have an "English" way of speaking. It's better to ask "are you British?", because less people will feel insulted.

  • @STEPcoach I mean "fewer" people ... sorry :-)

  • Im sorry but its just bad sync. I looked at one of the other videos uploaded by this person and the audio is out of sync to the video. Or it got messed up while uploading it.

  • If you have a trained musical ear you can pick out every part so no it's NOT some background recording to which the musicians are miming. The picture is slightly out of sync but that happens - so what? I'm enjoying it for the music!

  • No buddy, you do not need musical ears to realize that this a recorded version playing in the background, just a fan of The Corrs. If you were, you would know that this is the exact CD version from their Forgiven, Not Forgotten album. I've listened enough to know.

  • What a bulshit...

  • This version sound good en is...socialer then the corrs version :P

  • I love this song!!!

  • That can't be the version that was heard at the concert, no question there. Anyone got the original version, where you can actually HEAR the Cheftains?

    But:

Who was that attractive irish female beside Gabriel Byrne?

  • what was she playing? If it was the tin whistle it's Andrea Corr, if it was the violin it's Sharon, if it was something else I don't who you are talking about.

  • Non of the Corr sisters (though their attractivity needn't be disdussed).

I meant the woman who translated Byrne's Irish words just in the beginning. She is an actress, but I can't remember which movies I know her from...

  • In reply it was Ms. Jean Butler. She was the original Riverdancer from 1994.

  • I love this music,it's so beautiful.

  • great music. frances where you from?

  • They preformed it with playback, it's obvious.

Still, I don't blame them, I don't believe they wanted to play it that way and it's a great song !

  • I doubt they would performed it with playback, they all are too great musicians.

  • "Obvious" ????

Just because the audio is not in sync with the image ??

"They did not want to play it that way" ???

They are a bunch of great musicians who are open minded enough to like a change now and then.

    You 'obviously' do not !

  • Mitico

  • Vero?! **

  • The Chieftans and The Corrs, a beautiful piece of music. What more can you ask for?

  • Yeah, I have to throw my voice in with the rest - this video is simply overlaid with the album version of "Erin Shore." I'm not sure where you got the file from, but I recommend removing this until you can find the original audio track.

  • watch for sharon also!!!!

  • This is how it looked! Live from my cd! Bravo!!!!

  • I love to see Caroline whaling away on the drums - you go, girl!

  • I'm spanish,and i love irish music

  • I think that the song being played is Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore, not Louch Erne's Shore.

  • Loch Erin Shore is the name of the song

  • this was played to a cd. if you listen to forgiven not forgotten, it is exactly the same. and cazzy didnt play that drum solo. but i do like the monsters on the stage.

  • Yeah, you may be right. But they're playing with The Chieftains, they can't just be mimicking.

  • i agree with jrcoolgrl... it is EXACTLY the smae as the Forgiven, Not Forgotten version

  • @jrcoolgrl Are you serious, this is as live as it gets,

  • @jrcoolgrl Really? It's not the X-Factor asshole.Irish people can actually play their own instruments. The rest is just pure shite.Hope that helps.

  • @jrcoolgrl This is the real audio??????? that not make sense!!!

  • Many thanks for the wonderful video!

  • Irish music forever!
