In defence of all the artists and the production: they had only a very short time to rehearse. I can't recall he exact time, but I was shocked with how short it was! And there were more ways in which they're rehearsals were made more difficult. So considering all that: they did a fanastic job!

And I do think that the 'squeak' as it's called, is in the right place here, since this is supposed to be a young Evita, about 15 or 16 years old.

Too slow, too boring. This should make for an incredible dance no, but all that was managed in the whole dance break was some tango walking and a few twirls...BORING. Wher are the lifts, kicks, where's the wow? Fosse is the wrong approch for this number. :(

I say what I think. I think Evita is the most beautiful shows.

BUT do not think Eva Peron deserved such an honor, because it was not a political but an exploitative, deceitful, who was part of a great pact of deception and manipulation to an entire people ignorant and disappointed.

I don't agree with many political stuff of Peron, but no one can accept that he did a lot for the lower clases of Argentina..

To Broadway/West End purists, she wasn't even close.

But she does merit some respect for her performance, and I can easily see the mass appeal, as the movie version is a much watered down, pop music version for the public.

I agree about Madonna being better, but I disagree with liking her voice. She's too... squeaky, you need a little.. grunt to do the part, and this girl squeaks instead, if that makes any sense at all.

I don't agree with that. Young Eva should be squeaky. She's new, diffrent. Then, suddenly grows up. That's where her voice should get deeper, when things go wrong for the first time... and, I think some people played who played her (patti lupone) Made her sound too..... manish...
