@aMammoth There is absolutely no risk of this glass exploding, because it has a gigantic hole on top lol.
When the gas ignites it expands and energy from the combustion reaction is released, and all of it flies out of the opening. If it was completely sealed and then ignited, it might be a risk. The only way this glass would explode would be if he were to do this a million times, get it very hot, and then drop it in cold water.
Not entirely true. If the rate of expansion of the burning gasses is greater than what's escaping through the nozzle it'll apply pressure to the walls of the chamber. If the pressure gets too high, it explodes. If you carefully filled that thing with the right ratio of fuel/oxygen, you could probably make it detonate. That said, isopropyl alcohol and air are extremely unlikely the cause it explode.
@iamnull0 There is such a small ratio of fuel to oxygen that would even provide a combustion reaction that it's completely irrelevant to say " with the right ratio of fuel/oxygen, you could probably make it detonate."
There is no way you could make this glass explode with isopropy alcohol and a hole that big. Mythbusters couldn't make an incredibly condensed propane tank explode with the safety valve (which is about 200% smaller than this hole here). It's just not possible with any ratio.
dam it... i was waiting for his hands to get burn.... dam alcohols....

I don't think I have any Iso-alcohol-y thingy though.

I'd do it with plastic. Its not about it melting, its just plastic has a tendency not to explode as violently.

@cyberslick18 I feel like comparing a steel tank to a glass container is a poor comparison.
Which episode of mythbusters?

@Samfox100 The alcohol burns clean but may leave some residue on the glass that can be cleaned off.
