There are two versions of the Microwave 1. The first version of the Microwave 1 is blue and has the Curtis CEM3389 analog lowpass filter chip, which is the most dirty/noisy/analog sounding of all Microwaves.
The second version of the Microwave 1 is grey and has the CEM3387 analog lowpass filter chip. There is also a limited "mean green machine" edition of the second Microwave 1 version.
I've got the orange Microwave XT, but to my taste the very first version of the Microwave 1 (with the CEM3389 chip) sounds the most interesting of all MWs.
I rather like the bass. I have a 1A. Haven't had it sound like that yet. Nice work.

I dig the sound. I have a Pulse and now I want a Microwave!
What's making the snare sound?

The difference between the Microwave 1 and Microwave 2 (or XT / XTkeys) is that the former has analog filters and the latter is completely digital.
