  • thank you for posting. Now I have Eddie playing my backing track for when I practice the leads!

  • Wow this is cool... I thought I had EVERYTHING from Halen's unreleased stuff... apparently not. :) Thanks!

  • the begining sounds like "women in love" from VH II

  • Wants some, get some! This is one of those foundation songs that bridge punk, metal & sex into one delicious cocktail. Sort of like Jumping Jack Flash, but 20+ years later.

  • 1)why does van halen have the most demo songs out of any band

    2) why do they kick so much ass the final pressings are great but these demos are something special

  • @mattyp3400 because they were constantly jammin', that was the beauty of it

  • not tough to rank:Zeppelin, AC DC, Van Halen..others should be mentioned but not Sabbath

  • @lulu97764 although I partially agree with buddy's comment on ranking

  • the intro appeared also in a score by eddie in Wildlife from 1984.

  • Rank these bands in order: Zeppelin * Sabbath * Halen? Pretty damn tough huh?

  • @eliizme 1halen, 2zep, 3sabbath. not that tough!

  • @eliizme you don't rank bands , you listen to them and enjoy them ,,,they are all different can't say one is better or not

  • 8 people like Justin Bieber

  • i gave up asking a long time ago. this dude has some ties some where. my headphones broke down, some piece of shit i picked up at the recycling center. i'm like ed, i found some old ear pieces laying on the floor. i'm back in order babe.

  • Very nice demo. Love the intro here but the one on the album version seems more fitting. It's much more menacing sounding which WACF and Fair Warning were a bit known for. My favorite Van Halen albums.

  • where did you get the footage at the three min mark never seen it before

  • id kill to get this sound...

  • Love how Eddie starts off with "Women in Love" intro! Thanx. What a killer find!

  • I love all these VH rarities. Thought I had most of them, but I guess I was wrong.

  • Wow !! Where did u get these ??? Does EVH know u have them ? Vvery vert cool !!!! Thanks for posting !!!!

  • diss go diss way, diss go dat way, diss go in yo mouth

  • Everytime I hear this song so be it the album version, I get taken back to the 80's comedy Better Off Dead. The scene where the kid is tripping at the burger joint while making hamburgers was hilarious.

  • god i love the intro so fuckin much

  • That was "Women in Love" played as regular chords instead of tapped harmonics.

  • this goes this way this goes that way this goes in your mouth EVERYBODY WANTS SOME!!!!!!!

  • great alternate lyrics!!!!!! They rock - thanks!!!!!!!!

  • Very cool. Thanks for posting this.

  • EVERYBODY WANTS SOME I WANT SOME TO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the intro later on became the intro to "women in love"

  • @EVHguitarz nope because women came out in on =vh=2 in 1979 and this was in 1980

  • @VanHalenWorshiper

Perhaps it's possible that it was recorded for VH II and didn't make it. Ed is such an inspiring musician. He was writing 7 songs at once !

And Wolfie looks like Alex ! : ))

  • @EVHguitarz and "Take Me Back (Deja Vu)" from Balance

  • @jhop5150 true

  • omgtsia

  • 2:54 pmsl

  • and zombieland RULEZ!!!

  • and zombieland RULEZ!!!

  • van halen is THE best band ever!!!!!

  • i recognize the intro from somewhere.

  • @BigTroubles sounds like panama to me

  • i recognize the intro from somewhere.

  • this is suhweet!

  • how can i buy this song

  • this is great thx for posting

  • "Dis go in yo mouth".....??

  • lol

  • @tmwnat hes talking about sex in this song so if youre a minor dont listent this song

  • @eddiehalenvan Go suck a cats penis ill isten to what i want homo

  • What Ed is playing at the beginning is the opening of Women in love.

  • everybody "NEED" some.......LMAO I love it RAW and FUCKING REAL

  • Thanks johnnybeane!

..and thanks 5150EVH5150 for posting this-very cool!

  • That riff from the beginning...did Ed use that on "The Wild Life"?

  • yes

  • Yea, theres a reason why this is the demo version and not the album version lol....

  • one of the best songs ever made.

  • album version is beter

  • Classic Roth buffoonery.."Dis go in yo MOUTH!"

  • zombieland ftw!! this music was perfect in the movie

  • wow!!! I like this raw version better than the LP version. This is like when the song was being born. Awesome rough sound!!! Like they're at band practice or something. Love it!!! Classic VH rules!!!

  • wow how cool. amazing how much better the song became. great stuff !!!

  • Eddie used the first 17 seconds of this song for the score he did in "The Wild Life". Thanks for the post.

  • And if I can recall...it was the score as they were looking at the aftermath of the party in the condo. I don't hear "Women in Love" at all in this. Close, but not really. Cheers and Peace....

  • Hello swassontelus, is there anywhere I can download that guitar from the beginning of The Wild Life? The song on the soundtrack is something else. Thanks!

  • wow...I wish I could help you. 15 years ago, I found an LP in the dark corner of a campus radio station...but couldn't keep it. I ended doing the pre-digital method of playing the entire movie while recording it on audio tape...so I can listen to it when I drive...word for word, note for note. I wouldn't know how to upload it to save my life...and the tape is packed away somewhere. You may just have to rent the movie and record it that way....the score is incredible. Peace fellow fan.

  • This reminded me of last night when I was watching back to the future and Marty started to play Van Halen

  • nut up or shut up

  • What did you say pissfuck? lol

  • burn in hell

  • what did i say wrong?

  • @RaIphLauren Alright threre, Tallahassee...

  • Dis go dis way, dis go dat way, dis go in YO MOUF! I love it! More shenanigans please!

  • I love the FUCK outta this song!

  • haha zombieland=best movie ever!!

  • ...sleepin in the movie seat? lol...i love it!

  • I am so happy this is only the demo. But it's still Van Halen, so it's still good.

  • The first 25 seconds prove that Eddie is an amazing melodic player.

  • Those first seconds are what would become "Women In Love'.

  • but women in love was on VH 2 in 1979 and this is from 1980 ....?????

  • my bad...I should have just said the first seconds were from the song "Women in Love".

  • Comment removed

  • Well its a chord progression that he used alot.. it also sounds like Secrets for example.

  • actually those first few seconds isnt women in love, as it was already released 1 year before woman and children first.

  • Right...sounds like he just was playing "women in love before" playing "everybody want's some"

  • It had 2 start sumwhere.....bow down!

  • Mikeys a beast!!

  • Mike is Van Halen!!!!

  • WAS!!! & I think I like it better this way. Good luck Woof.......

  • :-)

  • Man these demos are rough but I love hearing them. It's amazing what Templeman did to turn these songs into classics. How well do you think they would have done with a lousy producer?

What's amazing to me is what he got out of Eddie. His solos on the albums are magic, the ones on these demos are just so-so.

  • thats old age

  • thats cancer ... alcoholism ... stress ... and being a musical genius

  • He still has both ears though

  • Thanks for putting this up. I love hearing unreleased demo stuff, no matter how rough. Cool vid too!

  • this is cool

-sound is dullish and boy did alex and

mikeman mess up the middle8 but

    they were airborne...i liked it

one of my faves from them...

  • Yeah, the audio is a demo and yeah it's sounds like $#@!

Most people are concerned with video, not audio, and for music videos that sucks no? I haven't heard 1 poor-source video yet that somone took the time to fix up and enhance, and nowadays software and a cheap soundcard will do everything for you.

I promise if I start contributing to this site, the sound will be of the best quality that can be expected for ultra-compressed digital. Meanwhile, I'm throwing on my WACF cd.

  • It's a demo...

  • thanks for sharing this!

  • I saw them on this tour!!! they kicked ass in Hartford, CT

  • Dave sounds like Sammy Hagar where he says,i just gotta get some too babe but nobody could ever sound better than Dave on these classics. They should have added these parts in on the studio track and i personally like this raw version better.

  • Cool. Where did you get this?

  • This is great... I love hearing Dave's handclaps before the solo part... could throw this on a "Bonfire"-style box set.

  • This is the VH that I know, well before they knew that they would have the impact that they now have. This is before the silly 1984 business. This is hard rock at it finest.

  • I wish Eddie would put a wig on and wear the wacf invasion jump suite blue.

  • sure wish these guys still got along, who is out there that is still rockin!!!

  • They just did a 89 million dollar world tour!

  • This is some good shit. I like it when they improv and mix other tid bits of songs in there.

  • Naw, Dave wasn't bi or anything, but he was "campy"-- look it up on wikipedia. I think there might be a link to it on his page on wiki.

  • I don't think he was gay. Just a brilliant showman. Diamond Dave.

  • Interesting intro. Bits of "Women in Love", then I thought it was going into the main riff in "Little Guitars" but instead went into "Everybody wants Some".

  • yeah it does doesn't it?

  • wow!!! this is great

  • Have to remember the era. Dave certainly wasn't gay(remember he was the first to get paternity insurance), just a very charismatic and bombastic front man. A rare breed.

  • "This go this way, this go that way, this go in your mouth"

  • Timeless!

  • loud

  • good song to play load and air guitar your room to total destruction

  • I love 1980. perfect van halen cd wacf.

  • Hey, Anyboby know the name of the tune where Eddie tells Dave to give me a break?? I forgot it. Thanks,Lori

  • Unchained, but that wasnt eddie, it was their producer or something

  • yeah ted templeman the producer

  • I was never big on W&CF I really only liked Take your whiskey home and Everybody wants some. I think VH,VH2,and Fair warning are their best albums.Just one mans opinon :)

  • i hic i hic also want some hiccup cure too

  • the intro was from the soundtrack to the wild life

  • to me it sounds like "women in love"

  • "this goes this way, that goes that way, this goes in your mouth" Wonder what that means?

  • Great stuff, thanks for posting. Ugg boots invented in New Zealand actually, Notoriouszig! But look best on Dave!

  • Awesome. 2 questions:

1 - Was this done before VH2? Its got the intro to Women In Love. Weird.

2 - What is that video footage around the 3 minute mark? With that chick's eyes? What video is that???

Thanks for posting these. Love hearing demos of great bands. It's cool to hear how they worked the song up.

  • 1. Don't know, does sound like Women in Love. Although believe he tapped that part instead of playing straight up.

    2. Its from the Tora, Tora, Tora/Loss of Control video.

  • Thanks. I had no idea there was a video for Loss of Control?!?!? Rad.

  • thats not woman in love.

  • whompus i knwo why it makes you think of a hamburger cause that showed in better off dead

  • interesting version!

  • why does this song remind me of a dancing hamburger and french fries diving into hot oil? Hmmmm, just dont know

  • I KNEW Dave invented Ugg Boots and this video PROVES it!

  • JC...if your up there bring these mofo's back to where they belong...TOP OF THE WORLD

  • fukin shit i can't go to a single place and say one thing without people thinking either i like rap or im black or im racist jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez lol

  • lol ...... me too but AREN'T you gay?

  • lol no i mean usually people have those evil eye looks most of the time

  • You'd smile too if you had his money.

  • why does eddie smile so much? STOP SMILING!!!!

  • Of all things to criticize him for! Little too much time on your hands, Superhero? Maybe he really enjoys the music, ya' think?

  • That is pretty stupid to criticize somebody for smiling. You must like gangsta rap!!!

  • On the Eighth day, God said "Let there be Eddie". and so it was done. The 9th wonder of the world.

  • very coooooooooooooooooooooooooolll

  • Love vanhalen and anything that comes with it. The dave era is the best.

  • Awsome pics that was the best van halen cd wacf i love that cd listen to it almost every day gotta love it.

  • That was sweet. I am glad they used the one that they did on the album and not this one, although it was cool. It was missing the big guitar riff in the middle!

  • yo man do have any more stuff from the women and children first outakes?

  • awesome man thanks for posting it

  • I just recently began playing music again, and these clips you put up have been really inspirational to me as a musician to try and recapture what was so cool about rock n' roll in the first place... thanks man...

  • haha i love these vids with the different lyrics

  • That intro sounds pretty close to "Women In Love". All in all, pretty good stuff...

  • Awesome! Love the different lyrics!!!!!!!!
