  • Thatactor must have just learned to play the fife , like, four minutes earlier. Lol.

  • why were english soldiers wearing spanish helmets

  • why was a pirate following themn playing the flute

  • thumbs up if HIS 131 brought you here......

  • It was UFO's!

  • It's history. What a beautiful area of NC it is too but it's fairly low country for miles on the mainland from Roanoke. It would be tough to survive back in those days and they obviously went somewhere. I'd hate to try to get through those woods and water today on foot. It's not up fairly high off the water like Jamestown....wetter land for sure.

  • It was Chuck Norris

  • oh...

  • @luvsComics I don't get it, what are you remarking?

  • god, this crap is so freakin GAY!

  • it wasent bigfoot it was the vampire beast

  • yay! now i can wach this without my teachers laptop spazing out.

  • i watched this in class and it is sad that this happened and i think all the islanders when to croatoan to survive and eat there was no remains of human bones or ashes if somoene attaked

  • Why are they wearing Spanish helmets and clothes?

  • Gotta love how they used the music played on a baby keyboard in this. Seriously, couldn't they at least use a piano?!? Instead of that crap.

  • It was Bigfoot.

  • I ALWAYS LOVED 'IN SEARCH OF' AS A KID...AND DR WHO

  • uh this video doesn't mention how the first group of English settlers in this area basically murdered entire tribes and the indian chief ..just because indians would not share food during the WInter. Boo hoo. That is why the indians were so hostile towards this next set of people who had no idea of those previous events. Still an interesting mystery.

  • @Caprican28 Yes they were hostile but they did not have the forces to fight with the Natives and they knew it. The first English settlers were the Roanoke Settlers. Thus they didn't kill the Indians but wanted to trade with them, knowing they were out numbered. But this is all speculation because we don't know what happened to them.

  • 7:20-7:35 That's "Greensleeves", isn't it?

  • well according to supernatural Satans minions released a virus called Croatoa as a test to see if it would wipe out humanity when the time came for the end of days

It was gonna work until Sam and Dean ruined his plans :P

  • @luvsComics lol..gotta love those hero's..But they also said alomsot the same thing on "The Event" a test to wipe out humanity by aliens...which we all know aliens are the Fallen one's and Satans army..the Nephilim have returned so its good to study all the past..Cause its upon us.

  • They ate each other. Then the last guy was eaten by a wild boar. The boar was then eaten by a native, then the native was eaten by a.........

  • Nice Casio keyboard at the start.

  • sorry old man but your daughter has disappeared and is having wild sex with a red man in the woods.

  • They were in hurricane country over three years time. It wouldn't take a strong hurricane to uplift those primitive structures and whipe them out. England didn't have knowledge of hurricanes back then, so any tree/growth destruction might have been overlooked. The storm surge on this island, wind, rain. The survivors leaving the area or all parishing and swept back out to sea. This seems to me to be the most probable explaination.

  • @pillowbugg Then why was the stockade still standing, smart guy?

  • @BossBass7o7 seems to me, because the stockade was the only thing really sunk into the ground. it probably wasn't in as good condition as it was depicted either

  • Nice 'stache Spock!

  • I am a descendant of the Colony. This story has been passed down through generations to an area called Free Union. 50 miles inlet. Whites, Indians and Blacks lived together and there were never any slaves. Free Union, Ange Town and Darden.

I look foward to telling this story after finishing my research.

    sstaten

  • @djmccoy18 Yeah, and I'm a 1/2 Vulcan Admiral in Star Fleet.

  • I loved these and wish they would put them on DVD.

  • It leaves quit a question who or what would build the fence could CRO be the clue to this mystery.what if they landed in thw wrong spot?.would the indians take them for showing them the ways to survive. What if they somhow moved the colony could the indians took the recorces from the colony.why would they send more for the jamestown colony.how would the remains just disappear it makes no sence.they had to land in the wrong place.mabye the indians/spanish build the walls to lure them into a ambush

  • @kkajlb But they were never ambushed.

  • If they were taken by any one {Indian or Spanish} why remove all the buildings? If they letf theyd have no room to take all the buildings. So it leaves a good question. Where are there possessions? If they died or were killed where are there remians?

  • No one knows what happened to them. They came back one year, and everyone was gone. A lot of people think they were taken in by one of the Indian tribes further inland, to help them make it through the harsh winter.

  • This legend is woven into the Stephen King film " Storm of the Century " , pretty good movie , set on Roanake. I didnt know it was a true legend until i watched this

  • I"m sure I'm not the first to mention this, but maybe they were "beamed up" to the Starship Enterprise. get it? ha ha

  • Greensleeves was all my joy! Greensleeves was my divine!

  • The damn Indians probably killed sweet little Virginia Dare. Savages!

  • @FaganRoberts Those bloody heathens! :)

  • This episode along with the Bigfoot and Amityville Horror eps were great. There hasn't been a program quite like In Search Of for a long time.

Sightings came close but lacked the "X" factor which in In Search Ofs' case was Leonard Nimoy and the fantastic music.

  • Thanks for posting this. I love episodes like this which have total mysteries. They really get me going.

  • North Carolina!!! yeah!!! woohoo!!!

  • I didn't know about this place until I was in the area and driving on my way to the outer banks. My friend was telling me about their disappearance and I got an overwhelming sense of it because it was very early in the morning, pitch black. And we didn't pass a car for a little over 2 hours. Not one person. It really put it into perspective. We stopped at a rest stop and hung around there, we had the place to ourselves for a while...could have been all night.

  • im learning about this in school

  • Spock with the Porn Mustache

  • I remember this event from an episode of Supernatural. Eventually the whole city was "cleansed". I highly doubt this happened here, but this is a pretty interesting episode. I like these "outside the usual suspects" of topics for shows.

    Kudos, beautystruck!

  • Resion being for a florishing and then rapidly dieing community is resorces. Once there gone the community is gone.

  • @Peter4101

    No bodies?

    No traces?

Not the most likely conclusion to this particular case.

Others such as Easter island, yes, but probably not in this one.

  • Pt.2 To clarify,if it matters,it seems that they didn't rapidly die off- they disappeared. The question is,what happened? Did they die off, were they assimilated, or were they killed? Probably some combination. I'm just saying that they didn't rapidly die off there. They left no carcasses- they left indication that they were re-locating What happened next remains a mystery but it was probably not the lack of resources that directly killed them off- yet still a prime part of the cause Peace, -g
  • @jetpoweredgriffin Assemalated makes a good amount of sence. No resorces, no way to survive. Might as well take drastic mesures. XD Theroy put out there, ahhh the wonders of the internet. I wonder if scientist & archologist will look into it.

  • @Peter4101

They have been trying and trying for some time but the case is a wee bit cold.

  • Melissa De La Cruz Created an amazing story and it was sprung by this story . If it wasnt for that storie i would have never known about this.

  • What is that tune? It's very familiar.

  • its greensleaves..

  • Thanks very much.

  • they went to kmart, I was there I know

  • They went to Croatoan. search myth of the lost colony right here on youtube

  • When I die I may not go to heaven

I don't know if they let cowboys in

If they don't just let me go to Texas, Boy!

Texas is as close as I've been.

  • What's with the spanish moss? I grew up in the tidewater area, there is no spanish moss there.

  • @nokomarie1963 U need to get out more !! Dismal Swamp ring a bell ??

  • I miss this show. Wish it was still on TV.

  • The ISO music people must have learned the music at 1:00 from Indian snake charmers!

  • this "music" ...arrrrghh

  • Thanks for taking me back Beauty...This part of our history in America is not so much a mystery but a part of our beginnings as a nation.

  • Thank you very much for posting the entire show in full, beautystruck

  • Maybe some virus went through the coloney. That or some government cover up, aliens, some supernatural event. LOL.

  • thank you for this, i grew up watching these in re-runs durning the 90's and have missed them so!
