  • need to get a wheel lift faster

  • What's up with all the Dodge repo's?

  • in your hole career as being a repo dude have you ever had to reposes a semi stuck?

  • time for a more heavy duty truck bud keep up the good work!

  • u should get some new vids up with the new dully i would realy like to see some i have a 88 chevy dully and im thinking about making it a repo truck so put some up so i can see a dully doin some repos

  • U should get a dodge ram 3500

  • Needs a heavier duty truck.

  • i dnt see how you guys use tht sling. it just takes to long to hook and book i cn be in and out in less thn 30 sec., with my dynamic. but ill give u props u make it work. i aint got mnay vids but check thm out

  • the truck you got has leaf in the rear they have a support brace supposed to make for a nicer and more stable ride check um out on the tube they are Roadmaster Active Suspension Kits.

  • I used a chevy wheel llift with an electric pick up and hated it,it was way too slow.I like my Dynamic hyrdolic much better.Stay safe bro

  • What ever pays the bills right . And have some fun in between .

  • I towed for years with a set up like yours and dot never stop me and I go by the scale houses all the time . I would still be using it but I have tow trucks now . Everyones got to start out with what they have or can afford .

  • DOT would have a field day with your ass here in Northern VA.

  • Operation repo is just as shady as what your doing. I watched that show once. I did laugh when that big no neck "bad ass" got dropped for steeping out of line.

I know its nothing new THATS THE PROBLEM! this is not nor has it ever been safe. AND YES THE DOT ABSOLUTELY DOES GOVERN THIS!!! your using your truck as a commercial vehicle and you at MIN fall under the federal guidelines for safe towing.

  • But I will give you partial credit for at least using drag lights on SOME of your tows but the lack of safety's to supplement the primary securement also bothers me. but their are bigger safety issues than that.

  • The law reads you need two lights after you secure the repo from the scene, not while stealing it. So many things are a bit different as you comment about them from normal towing to repo towing and yes in many states as well. It is noted how you feel and everything you have brought up and the lord knows I appreciate it as well as everybody else who happens to see it. Hopefully we can keep it on a positive note because the negatives in life are not good for anybody! Take it easy my friend!!

  • I got your back there.. Op repo is all staged from beginning to end! I am not shady or staged. But man it is DPS that covers us here not DOT for repo or straight towing or impounds. I am not arguing with you one bit. And I have always towed every vehicle safely! You drive in the rain different than when it is sunny right? And street signs tell you slow around a curve or slippery when wet right? Safely and safety is the bottom line no matter what! I do that!

    RR

  • Nothing wrong with a sling tow. WHEN YOU STAY WITHIN the ratings. which that unit you have is rated for 4K max. your far and above that.

Even if you were just going over the ratings by a bit that wouldn't bother me. What your doing is unsafe PERIOD. I will personally give you $500 cash if you can get a DOT officer to sign off on you towing a 1 ton DRW with that rig. Even with the BEST those brakes could be their no where NEAR enough to be SAFE.

  • Not exact on the ratings for the lifting and the towing right this second but since you are that is fine. I don't want your cash and it isn't DOT that governs us. If it bothers you so much just don't watch it. Go back to Operation Repo and forget what really happens in the field. I like you cause you seem to know your stuff but this is nothing new in this industry. It isn't being shown every day but it is happening out there. Anyway got others to get to for a bit alright?!

    RR

  • That's just plane careless and dangerous. A single rear wheel F-350 has NO BUISNESS lifting and towing ANY 3/4 ton or larger Pickup or truck. IM VERY VERY glad I live far away from your operation

  • My operation huh? LOL. I guess I am glad also but you know what? What ever state you are in there are probably agents running around repoing with 3/4 ton repo trucks!! Just like we all used to do! Then the requirements change as it needs to to a 1 ton, thern to a dually 1 ton. It is legal here and in a lot of states you just don't see em. I show my vids and you get to see the real deal. Cracks me up! But hey thanks for watching and the comment too! RR

  • I assure you its NOT legal OR SAFE. For one you have effectively unloaded MORE than 50% of your static front axle weight. Second im also more than positive that you have severely overloaded your rear (drive) axle. The old school slings have their place in the industry but towing anything bigger than a single cab half ton IS NOT There place.

God help you when something goes wrong and you get in a wreck because im sure your insurance company will leave you high and dry.

  • I have controlled my loads for many many years with the same insurance company each and every year. And that is with a physical and a mechanical inspection signoff by their local rep each year too. As well as with Dept Of Public Safety. Believe me I drive totally different with a heavy load versus not, comes with experience. You are right about a lot of it but not all. Same as if you loaded a pallet of blocks in the back of a half ton truck to do your wall at home.. you compensate.

    RR

  • "Same as if you loaded a pallet of blocks in the back of a half ton truck to do your wall at home.. you compensate"

Actually I use a truck up to the task at hand.

I'm not saying the factory ratings are gospel. What im saying is that's Unsafe at ANY SPEED. with that much negative camber change I would bet there is less than 25% of your static weight on the front end. When you go to stop hard the front end is unloaded even more leaving you with ZERO steering or brakes on that end.

  • Compensating would be if you were properly loaded then you would keep a greater following distance and safe speeds.

you cannot compensate for a complete lack of steering or brakes. Don't think that you can use the pathetic stock drum brakes on that rear end to stop 12,000lbs when your front end is off the ground.

I'm sure you do pass the insurance inspections for towing compact CARS.

Feel free to post a vid of you truck attempting a "panic stop" while towing a 1 Ton dually.

  • It is quite funny when you actually think of all the years trucks have been towing (less than a one ton that is) and with a sling probably more years than you are alive. And even to this day (aside from little ol me). I have never had to do a panic stop with a heavy vehicle or a lighter vehicle because I know what I am doing and my limits. We could go back and forth all night but end up the same way. Just keep it safe out there man!!

    RR

  • I didn't mean specifically towing block I meant "in general" as many folks do on a daily basis. Again you learn to control your truck with whatever load on it. Heck it get hairly when you drive a normal little car with worn out brakes so heavy duty 1 ton brakes always changed really prevent a lot of problems on my end.

    RR

  • Hey Rich. Is there good money to be made in this type of business? You put in long hour days?

  • Sure Adrian there is good money in repoing as long as you get the vehicles. And it is long long hours, day and mostly night, especially owning and running your own. Thanks for posting up!

    RR

  • man I love the Truck Built Ford Tough, always drive a ford man!

  • Plan on it for my next dually as well!!

    RR

  • looks like the majority of repos you do are dodge...lol

  • A lot have been! I'll grab whatever there is to grab!

    RR

  • Hey Rich! Out of curiosity, how come they majority of the vehicles you key don't stay running... even the older ones?

  • Hi spickens.. well most vehs take transponder keys or other security type keys. If you are referring to the various pics (I have worked alone without a driver so all were always towed) CG does a lot if runners.. Thanks for the comment my friend!

    RR

  • You have a great truck! Never stops repoing! Great video, thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks funny.. like the energizer bunny "keeps going and going"! Thanks for watching!

    RR

  • looks like you need a bigger truck

  • Coming by Jan 2010! This one works for another year! thanks for watching mike!!

    RR

  • Great video RR! Thanks for sharing.

  • no sweat zapata!! Long time no talk to. hope all is well with you!! Hey more on the way.. Lets get this show on the road uh??

    RR

  • Hey Rich every time I come to You Tube I see you got some more great videos. I see all your videos and it is making me curious as to how many repos you actually do a month.

    Take it easy!

  • nice Rich, Plenty of squatting goin on there...later..Jeff

  • Oh yes it was... ripped my lights apart when making a right turn too! Too long for the cord. Anyway no orders for another of them yet! WHEW.. If one comes though I'll get it! Good talking to you Jeff! Be safe man,

    RR

  • WOAH! You re-poped a mini bus with that thing? That must have been one hairy ride. Looks like fun though. Keep up the good work Rich.

  • It wasn't so big when I was stealing it from their driveway in broad daylight! I had to go once I raised up the front end and saw it didn't snap my boom.... so popped the linkage and rolled all the way home.

  • you picked up a dodge sprinter with that truck??! you are determined

  • It was sweet! Hooked to the front in the driveway and popped the linkage and split the nbrhood!! I took it slow going home but no sweat!!

  • check out the new tundras. Cant go wrong with a toyota. Nothing personal, but i absoutly HATE ford

  • Yeah thats okay Flyno.. I like Tundras have repo'd a few but they do not have a big enough truck to legally tow with!! To each their own... Have a great day man,

    RR

  • Hey Rich kick ass videos man! That old ford is squatin big time with them big ass trucks on there. Built Ford Tough is right!

  • Right on!!!!

  • Sneaky bastid, trying to hide his dodge back in there.

I can't even imagine the dumb things people try to do to protect their cars when they know they're wrong.

  • Rich,

F350 rear springs on your truck may help the "squat", if you don't have them already.

I agree, the F250 is a great truck. My 87 is still running after all these years(227k)

  • Nice.. even the old Fords are built FORD TOUGH!! Thanks Bob..

    RR

  • dude i was sitting in a alabama state troopers vehichle "dont ask" a day ago.

the brand name of the radar unit up on the dash was stalker]z. reminded me of somethin couldnt figure out what the hell it was.

    I remember now.

  • Bomb... what the Heck! I won't ask haa haa. yes now you remember where huh. Works man!

Stay out of trouble now you hear!!

    RR

  • Hey RR, great video once again...surprised your truck can lift a large dually and that bus (1:06).

  • Oh and i wanted too add...i know you have a dangerous job, but how much do you make on average?

  • All depends on clients, number of accounts, areas, and if special investigation work is needed but roughly 3-5 a repo. Been paid up to 1250 before but on real expensive vehs.

What ever the fee is, if one goes totally wrong and we are hurt bad or even worse, there is no money worth it. You know?!?

    RR

  • Oh yeah... that is a Dodge Sprinter! that is the biggest I have gotten so far. Towed it fine just drove slower than most and it was so long it pulled my drag cord right out of the socket, been using my spare set since then.

    Have agood one G0dyo!

    RR

  • hey, interesting pics. was going to watch the rest of the clips from last night and i was suprised to see more videos, since you put them up about once a week. excellent!

  • Hey boi!! Surprise huh? I still have so many to import, capture edit and load it is crazy! I'll get to em.. And more pics of repos on my other puters so will put together something on those soon. Fun learning all this editing stuff, makes a huge difference.

    Enjoy my friend,

    RR

  • Hey RepoRich,

what do you after you repo a vehicle? Does it belong to you? Do you auction it off, and keep the profit? Do the owners pay to get them back....and lastly why don't you get another truck?

    Albert

  • Albert, Many things happen to the repos. Some go to local auctions in Az, some go to auctions in Ca, some go to the lienholder, some have bids placed on them and sold and some are redeemed back to the debtor. By 1/2010 I will need a dually. My truck is older just rolled over 205K miles, it maneuvers better than other trucks due to wheelbase and length. I can turn on a dime and back into a tight spots with posts on the sides, some apts/trailers have long skinny carports, duallys do not fit! RR
