He's making fun of all the sync'd video makers who think you can merge their art together and come up with some enlightened bullshit....hahahaha....I love it. The enlightenment is in the song as it's recorded.....get a search engine and don't be a freakin tool.....just listen and say "that phrase sounds out of place" or "I've never heard THAT term before...I think i'll look it up".....there might be a clue in this song that correlates to another song but sync'ing to find "hidden" tracks is BS..
For those of you not familiar with the work of Carl Gustav Jung, (Tools song 46 & 2, "Shadow" is an attribute of consciousness, the barrier between waking conscious, and the subconscious) He was a Psychologist who became famous, world wide, for his concepts. Our subconscious directly effects our waking consciousness. C. G. Jung; "What we Resist Persists" And that's what Maynard is doing protesting before his own shows. A good example, the war on drugs. Now more drugs, and people using ,.!..gov.
It's not Maynard. It's the two members of Uncle Scratch's Gospel Revival (look, it even says it right there in the description!). They were the opening band for Puscifer in their Fall 09 tour.
@SummernlightningUSA And he's way too tall. You do realize that Maynard's like 5'7 right? If it was Maynard then everyone at that show was really short
He did this at the San Antonio show. People were offended and obviously unaware it was him but my friend and I knew it. It was an awesome beginning to a great show. He heckled me for a second and I think I said something in a strange mumbling (HOLY FUCK MAYNARD'S TALKING TO ME) shock.
yes that is maynard !! he walks around in the crowd at all of his concerts TOOL A PERFECT CIRCLE AND PUSCIFER !! i met him in the crowd at a tool concert in charlotte north carolina
I've seen all 3 people together on numerous occasions. If you've been to a Puscifer show you know USGR will sometimes come onstage during MJK's set. At the Houston show last Nov, they crashed the stage in protest, but after MJK offered them cheese(?) & wine, they picnic'd up there 'til the end.
The next night, in San Antonio, I met both Brothers while Maynard was onstage singing Humbling River.
I still say it's Maynard (or MJK some of the time); it's perfectly inline with something he'd do. I saw the show in San Antonio; it's pretty easy to discern that it's MJK because of his height, shape of face, and his nose. Sounds just like him too (listen to @Excel325). There aren't many pics of Uncle Scratch's drummer where his face ISN'T obscured. The nose is a dead-giveaway. Just because they have a web site doesn't mean it's not him.
I'm pretty sure that Maynard would risk it, plus, if you listen to the Rev. Maynard bit on Undertow (the very last track on the album), it sounds a lot like what he was doing on the street here and when I saw them in Minneapolis.
Tool will be in my neck of the woods Thursday night and I will attempt to intercede and pray away the demons residing in Maynard James. If I can just get Maynard to look me in the eyes, I will channel divine healing powers straight into him and banish the evil Puscifer Tool devil consuming this Great Man of God.! Shout Glory!
if I'm not mistaken these two are the duo from a band( name escaping me now) which Maynard has worked with and named dropped occasional. Their thing is comedy through imitation of general bible-belt fanatics.
Did you? haha I was there too. And OMG! That was the best performance/stage show/ & the cool, trippy sounds, I've been to many, many Tool concerts, but I have never been this close to Maynard as I was at this show!! But... do you know if the other guy (who looks like Maynard, Is Maynard?.... I have to know. He looks sooo much like him!
@allwillsuffer At first I thought he was MJK but after doing some research I found that it wasn't him but sure the hell did look like him... I have to agree that it was one of the best live performances that anyone will ever see... If you want to know more about the guys protesting just look up uncle scratch's gospel revival...
I was going to say 'I bet that's Maynard in disguise!' and then I realized it is. I love him.

I think it is Maynard, but i wouldn't know.
Either way, it seems to be some sort of pseudo-promotion or a least a bit of entertainment for the people waiting in line.
One things for sure though, thees guys are not being serious.

It's NOT Maynard, it's the megaphone usage.

Quit arguing; enjoy the Revival! GATES OF HELL!

@CommonStereotype Plus, USGR has been around for years. I think they formed in 2005, but I could be wrong.
Do a Youtube search of them with the word "snakes"... it's worth it.
