At first I thought the beginning was mythbusters and then I thought harder and realized where I heard it from, it's the song from my schools announcement video theme news thingy... I know, bro, it's a pretty damn cool story!
do you know wich aluminium you used to make the targets ? And did you bend the standing feets of the poppers when the aluminium was cold ? Or was it heated to melt temperature ? And do you know if all aluminium is bendable in cold form?
sorry for the many questions, but I thought aluminium will break when you try to bend.
@dionjulien P.S. In hindsight I would go with a heavier gauge steel so the bbs don't pit the metal so much. With these targets & need to hammer out the dings and repaint every so often.
they have different option for shipping - regular ground, express, 2-3 days, overnight, etc. If I remember right it took about 5-7 days for it to come in.
I think that is a great description of what may be done to shoot at home. I think you put the cart before the horse though. 22g should mangle that target with every hit of the bb. The CQB goes arounfd 300 fps. Please show the tests on these targets. That way someone can evaluate whether this would be the best way to go. I would recomend a much thicker metal and use steel.
Thats some great advice - I will do some tests and post what happens. I will probably either get some thicker steel and make targets or one specifically for airsoft practice.
Man that is just neato, can't wait for the pistol review. Combine some of this pistol airsoft training with a Liberty Training Rifle or AR15 22lr you'll have all your bases covered until ammo prices go back down next election.
Mr.M-F has a good point, if you take a spent shotgun shell and knock out the primer- you can get a piece of twine with a good sized knot at the end of the length, feed it through the primer hole and hang from the ceiling or whatever. You will not have to reset it and you might get a decent enough swing for a moving target.
Yes you can use old sg shells and they would work great. I have lots of stuff I could shoot at in the garage but there is a method to my madness.
;)
It will keep me focused on human sized and competition type targets - I am hoping to practice using these & if there are any uspsa, ipsc or similar competitions locally, I can easily transition without a lot of frustration.

@dionjulien Actually I think it was thin steel galvanized steel sheets. Easy enough to cut with tin snips and bend by hand.

Hey Steve. On a scale of 1-10 how good do you think Airsoft is as a training platform.
airsoftmasta102 1 year ago
@airsoftmasta102 1-10 with 1 being the best.
I would say the best #1 is real firearms & ammo training; #10 would be dry fire practice, so airsoft IMO would rate about a 4.

Damn it, now you got me seriously looking in to airsoft guns lol.
It seems to me like a real good idea provided they shoot straight.
Looking forward to seeing it in action!

Check out the unboxing vids I just posted - the CQB looks pretty slick.

Steve, these are just knock down targets?

Tho the idea of a swinging target is a cool idea.

I foresee bb's all over the house and one angry wife:)

Not quite cause the wife already said I can only play in the garage.
If I play in the house I lose my allowance.
