  • 1:53 explains why this is so awesome

  • I could have sex with that fish. Jeezuz

  • Ive gone out fishing for these for two years basically every day. Everyone I bring out with gets one while I'm out fishing every day. The one day they want to come they get a 48incher. Pissed me off soo freaking much.

  • Sick Fish dude going muskie fishing this weekend cant wait!

  • Holy shit.

  • Man I wish I was north enough to fish musky. They look like a helluva fish to reel in.

  • Dear Nate, what a whopper. I have never seen a musky that big. And you said you had wished you had a mate with you. I can see that now. You missed the trill of sharing.

Thats why i almost never fish alone. Great fish. Thanks for uploading this catch.

    Grtzzzz

Pim Busker from The Netherlands. ( my channel?)

  • He had to release the fish because Lac Suel is a no kill lake for muskies.

  • good job wow

  • He just said how long it was

  • Lac Suel is an awesome lake, but I go up north to Silver Water Wheel Lodge. awesome fish,

  • How long was it?

  • Nice dude thanks for sharing

  • ticks & leeches!! nice fish

  • Dude that things a beast!!!

  • What type of line do you use for musky. I have 50lb braid and was wondering if the fish are spooked by it. Nice fish by the way.

  • @YouCatchMyDrift The generally accepted minimum line is 65lb braid, and a lot of people use up to 100. I use 80 personally. To answer your question, the fish will not be spooked by it.

  • tool ! great music ! :-)

  • Good job dude!! What a pig!

  • I caught one just like it but I gut it and sent it floaten...hahahahah

  • WOW, what a monster fish great catch man...i just started to fish musky i usually just go after trophy pike....all i throw is musky killers sooner or later u think i would catch a big musky? lol

  • How in the blazes did you land that fish in the boat? I had a hard time with a 20 pound musky 3 months ago by myself. Kudos to you man and way to show your excitement. Too many people try to act cool and collective.

  • gratz man true fish of a lifetime. Lost mine in the Chrystal river had to of been 50'' least it broke water seen the tiger stripes. truly amazing fish. pure power house

  • I like you already. Your not a cocky fisherman, and you actually act excited about those monsters, unlike people that say they catch that size of musky everytime. I like you.

  • that makes me wanna fish! :D

  • what type of bucktail???

  • That shows true class to release such a monster. Thank you

  • good catch ! but you better stop drinking during fishing musky !!!! You damage the fish when you handling like this !!! or go to the gym !!!!

  • YOU SHOULD HAVE PUT IT IN MASTER ANGLER AWARD!

  • who would eat a muskie? nobody eats those..that'd be like eating a baby dolphin

  • Good for you. Catch and release makes me respect you even more.

  • nice fish i have 110% respect to u!u catch the fish of ur life and u let it go great job man what lake is that at lac suel or fishing of the woods

  • nice job!!!!!!:)

  • Did you replica mount that beauty?

  • nice job. released.

  • oh yeah and the Bull Dawg is gold

  • I have never muskie fished but i am trying it sometime with my dad probably in cave run lake, ky. I have a 9" Bull Dawg lure and another one that is wood and green and has a yellow and orange belly and a black strip down its back and red eyes and twotreble hooks on it. Can someone tell me if they are any good?

  • Nice fish!

  • K trying not to be cocky but i went ice fishing and cut a 7in. hole and I got a catfish so big it wouldnt fit through the hole but again that is HUGE man Thats INCREDIBLE i SHIT my pants when i sa that

  • Did it die? It didn't look like it had much energy left. Nice fish!!

  • @MrFourTwentyForLife Where the fuck are you gettin Northerner`s bigger than that Muskie...Have to call bullshit on that one. That fish is pushin 55-57inches for sure, an the biggest pike, at least around here(Northern Ontario) barely push 48inch..maybe the odd bigger.

  • @chiggz the far northern border of manitoba, about 100 miles west of the hudson bay

  • haha obviously if you were alone you added a couple inches man, you cant lie about that to people who know their stuff. ive caught pike bigger than that, that didnt weigh near 50lbs or 57". Never trust a fisherman, too many Tall Tales of fish that get bigger everytime you tell the story

  • Comment removed

  • @ @MrFourTwentyForLife You're a total dumbass if you expect people to believe that you've caught Pike bigger than this beast. I live on Cave Run Lake in Ky and our state record is 54'' and over 47 pounds and this fish is considerably bigger than our state records. Congrats on the pig!

  • I know the video does not do this fish justice.

Congrats, that thing is a fuckin' PIG.

    Many more....

  • Mine was a 60" and its on my wall right now! <3

  • should be a record!!!! its sure alot more of a catch then all the old records that were caught on suckers and shot with rifles.

  • haha doesnt it suck when u catch a monster when no 1 is around to see it? lucky u had a camera watch a monster fish man!! congrats i would dream to catch a fish of that size....i fish pike tho keep the vids coming nj!

  • beautiful fish!! awesome job releasing it too!!!

  • You are one awesome angler.

You spend all the time and effort to catch that trophy muskie, but you've still got the dignity to release it and protect their population.

    Congrats, man.

  • makes me smile every time i watch this i cant wait to get out and start pounding the water

  • maybe 35lbs

  • real monster

  • Nice Fish! When I went to Lake of the Woods, I caught a 43 in. Muskie and that was extremely fun to reel in. I couldn't even imagine how fun yours would be to reel in. What lake did you go to?

  • @JDPublicEnemyNo1 this fish was on lac suel but fishing lake of the woods alot now

  • Awesome fish.

  • That's legit... Nice catch, beautiful fish! Props for catch and release to help maintain the amazing sport of musky fishing!!!!

  • NOW THAT"S A MUSKY!

  • DAAAAAAAAAAMN

  • I use fish like that for bait

  • Beauty fish man, i personally have never fish Muskie YET! but im at school in Lindsay Ont, and have a buddie thats a muskie nut if i catch something 40+ ill be happy for sure, unlike that beast unreal. Good luck in the future with your fishing and just remember you still have a chance at a bigger one (I know there rare that big) but fishing is all about dreaming to

  • HUGE MAN HUGE NICE 1

  • what a beautiful fish, im still waitin to even see a fish that big my biggest is 34" when i was 13 and im 22 now

  • waiiitt... are you sure thats not a shark ?

  • That weighs more than my dog!

  • To anyone doubting the legitimacy of this catch/size/weight, I'll have you know that I was working at the camp Nate was fishing out of (Lac Seul Outposts) when this fish was caught. He was buzzing with excitement when he got back to camp.Truly the fish of a lifetime!

Hey Nate, best of luck in the coming season.

    Eric.

  • Love the enthusiasm! Now that's a nice size musky, the musky is very long. Great to see you guys release him. Hopefully he'll grow to become bigger!

  • Wow....you lucky bastard

  • On a bucktail!!! Thats fucking nice dude, I don't know what the record is where you live but I woulda tried to enter that beast

  • Kudos to you for the release!!! A few measurements and a quick pic will give you a replica of a lifetime!!! Not too many people have achieved such a catch as you have!

    You rock Muskynate!!!

  • When it started flapping in his hands I thought that it was going to eat him.

  • I dont know what to say but that things huge! thanks for releasing!

  • hell of a fish all the respect for releasing that thing got me excited already for musky season

  • Awesome catch, Nate. What's even better is that you released her. When I watch this video I wonder how many fisherman in the past, before the era of handheld electronics and mobiles, caught fish even bigger than yours. Imagine all the fisherman who didn't have anyone in the boat with them, just like you in this video, but had no way of proving their stories. Makes you wonder about all those "records."

  • Wow, what a fish. And to all of the nay sayers....this fish was not improperly handled. I'm guessing despite the size the fight was shorter than most would imagine. As for the time outa the water, it was fine. As for the "way it swam off" also fine. These fish put a lot into a short fight, they get tired. Not to mention most muskies seem to sense when they are "controlled" and don't fight the resistance during release like a trout or something.

  • 42" is max for muskie

  • @Jakjak841 HA!

  • @Jakjak841 haha ya ok

  • I think he is happy..

  • Respect for the release and I just got off the boat with you dude. Awesome solo catch ..... wooooohhhooooooo!!!!!

  • Gatooooor!!

  • brilliant, you got all my respect for letting her go,i,m made up for you, only if there were more people like you in fishing,i love my pike fishing in england,on those dawg's,they love them..

  • easy EEEH! fifty pounder!

  • honestly the fish looked like it was not fully recovered at the end of the video, did it live? awesome muskie!! it always seems you get the big one's when your out by yourself and no body around to get a picture of you and your fish,

  • Sweet! My best so far is only a 45" 27.5 pounder. You must have been so pumped to land that beast! Good job handling it, good release. People are so surprised that you would release a fish like that, but they don't understand Muskie fishing. My brother got a 50" 30 pounder on 6 lb test mono unexpectedly. We almost killed the fish because we didn't know how to handle these monsters then, but thankfully we learned. Muskie fishing is the best!

  • Amazing fish man and that takes a true man to let such a nice fish go don't know if I could've lol but congrats

  • I already can't wait for summer than I go an watch this, I need a monster like this. But great job man. Nice catch and release.

  • @civicrocker1991 lol thanks i'm dieing to get on the water too

  • My god watching this video was a mistake. I cannot wait for June.

  • @LayEmOut60 lol same with me same with me

  • I have fished lac suel 5 time on a week long trip each time and never caught a musky. But that lake is sweet caught alot of big pike still waiting for my first musky. sweet fish dude!

  • @tate68321 thanks yeah seul is really sweet love it there. try using a top raider they love them there.

  • Catch and release. Nice.

  • No the 69 lbs record got called back

  • Awesome fish man, things a crazy nice size, must have been fun to bring in by yourself haha

  • congrats dude awesome

  • Congrats Nate on your fish of a lifetime. Fantastic! Great job handling the fish & release while alone in the boat. 5*****

Never mind the armchair "experts" out there who live with a mouse in their hand but never a musky rod, fuck 'em, they are just jealous.

Never an end to their B.S. "not 57", "not 50 lbs" blah blah blah

They're just sorry they were born with pinkie size peckers and that's really all there is to it.

  • @WorldRecordLies thanks man all comments are good though everyone has there owe oppion.

  • @WorldRecordLies i dont think they are that big

i think they are the sze of a tictac

  • @WorldRecordLies hahahah thanks

  • does any one think it would be ok to keep a fish that size for a mount? i know many muskie fishermen would not kill one if their lives depended on it. but maybe a 37 incher at least? would that be ok?

  • That's a world record no joke record now is 56.4 pounds

  • @fisher5824 the record is 69 pounds 11 ounces from 1949.

  • Hey you caught my fish. Give it back to mother nature.

  • holy crap!!!!!!!!!!

  • Superbe poisson !

  • catch and release, i got respect for you man.

  • @carrotstixfishing thanks

  • You are truely a fisherman. You caught a beast of a fish and still you let it go. I have all the respect in the world for you.

  • @wrexttboy ya thats really cool to see.

  • @wrexttboy thanks

  • I have a cabin about 12 miles south of Lac Suel. The main body is almost 100 miles long running from Ear Falls on the west end to Sioux Lookout on the east end.

Wonderful, very beautiful lake and the fishing is every bit as good as Lake of the Woods. Can always accommodate a couple of serious fisherman.

  • Apparently 11 people don't like monster musky.

  • Comment removed

  • @gladheateher4now yeah a cowgirl

  • My biggest last year was 52, I didn't have my camra,, this year it's been great fishing, one day I caught 5 muskie all were 40+,, my biggest this year was 48,, well about that,, so I quess you can call it a fish story,, I didn't measure it other than by my red marks that mark 42 inch,, I don't like bringing these monsters into my caneo. thrash you to death you know,, you were great,, exsitment in your voice Peace

  • --->NO KILL<--- RESPECT^^

  • thats a freakin' gator dude!!!

    Nice Catch.

  • dude your great for releasing that. hopefully more anglers will be like you. nice catch.

  • very cool that you let him go. now someone else can catch him :)

  • What does it take to get a 50+ lber you ask?? Well if this fish was, in fact, a 57 incher, it would need to have a 27"+ girth to reach the 50lb class. This fish does not have a 27" girth. Judging by the vid. I'd say the girth is right around 23 to 25 inches....My guess would be mid 40 lb. class....VERY NICE FISH as I said before, but again NO 50 lber.

  • @ShutUpNFish1 - Just do what your name says

  • Damn.... That fish is still in there, and its probably at least 60 inches now... :O

  • 10 that dislike this WTF this is the best!!! great catch man!!

  • Nice catch, sorry that some people are jealous and have to make rediculous comments, you know can't catch a crappie,,, ha ha ha Love muskie fishing,,,get that 70 that is there my biggest tigar was last year 52 inch but I average 40,,,, peace to you and your love of fishing the big ones

  • vet nep

  • catch and release is great but that fish is being ruffed up alot. i dont know

  • dude that's the baddest fish i've ever seen. Kudo's for the release. Wow what a monster.

  • @jkunz7 the fish is not fake you dumbass...you are an idiot..the fish wasnt swimming in the water because it didnt have air for a while and he has to be able to breath in the water and it takes a couple minutes to get flow back to its gills

  • @jkunz7 the fish is not fake you dumbass...you are an idiot

  • The fish is like "wtf... it isn't eating me, and it is screaming at me."

Nice catch, I would be so proud if I caught that haha

  • Is this fish even LEGAL TO BE IN A LAKE!?!?!?

  • the fucking fish is rubber its a lie he is a loser

  • That a boy nice catech and release!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW good job...that is one bad ass muskie bro

  • nice catch man.... very nice

  • Nice fish for sure! No 50 lber however.

  • @ShutUpNFish1 What the hell does it take to make a 50 pounder then...?

  • That thing looks like it swallowed a small dog or something... gawd!!! I wouldn not want to meet that thing in the water alone.

  • 1:15 lol

  • Best part of video is the Tool song in the background!

  • What's the name of the lake you are at

  • @jwats1100 lac suel
