Well today there were 77,000+ at Kyle, and its the smallest crowd I've seen this season.

They've already surpassed expectations that were made originally in this video and are one win away from bowl eligibility. honestly, that "in the future" stuff is so overdrawn. You have no way of telling who will want to play for your team in the future and honestly, with Texas owning the state's recruiting, Tech bringing all the good receivers for their system, and TCU bringing in all the good defensivemen, all A&M can hope for are sub-par players who play with heart. That's all they ever get, really. Although Kerry Franks and Jerrod Johnson are BEASTS. But I dont see them being a good team for a LONG time man.
To residentallen: the wins at Kyle field are already hard to come by. Almost every team that has come into Kyle this year has been smashed. The only team to beat the Ags at home this season so far was OSU and they were hanging on by a thread when they weren't losing. I don't know if you saw that game but I can't remember seeing a team get as desparate as OSU did in that game and they're one of the best teams in the nation. He's insane if he thinks Colorado and Baylor will by favorites to win.
Looks like 6-6 is still very viable. Hell, 7-5 is still viable and that's with them not beating Texas or OU. While I agree with your assessment of the D (its still sub-par at best), to say we have no backfield on offense shows lack of knowledge. Read something else next time besides a box score for the basis of your analysis. Ask Tech how our non-existent backfield looked in Lubbock last night.............

i think we will be maybe 6-6 to a bowl, I dislike sherman as coach, and slocum got fired after being 6-6 and he never had a losing season at a&m we should've kept him, Slocum was 123-47-2 with the Aggies, but only 29-23 in the last four seasons. The Aggies had lost three in a row to Texas. that 1 reason alone i think they fired him lol 3 losses to Texas in a row

I am a freshmen at Cy-Falls highschool in houston, and in the years 2012, 2013 i think we are going to state and going to win and after we graduate most of us want to go to A&M, and when some of us go that will change A&M alot. You might not beleive that but look into us and just see. so when those years come around the Texas A&M will come back. You probly wont even look into us but i think you should because we will make it diffrenet.

all though an impressive game for arkansas. Georgia's defense has had sub-par performances so far this year.
South carolina and Arkansas ran up a combined 950+/- yards on Georgia... not quite the SEC defense everyone had expected.
While A&M's offense is untested against a strong oponent, it certainly appears impressive at this point in time. this will certainly be a good chance for the young A&M team to show its strength (or lack) and play its first big game of the season.
we will win our first 3 arkansas is a toss up. ok st is a probable loss but a little tiny bit of a toss up because we are playing at kyle fld. k st. is a def. win they suck bad. tech is a toss up. iowa st is a def win. colorado is horrible this year, worse than we were last year. we lose to ou. baylor is overrated and we will beat them (kyle fld) and finally the game against ut, its a 50-50 toss up. With the young squad they have, if they stay healthy, will have a chance as early as 2010. Hey thanks for the 2009 football predictions. Im an aggie and would like to post my own thoughts. I would agree that last year the aggies did horrible going 4-8. My predictions before the first week of football was putting the aggies at 5-7. However, after watching Sam Bradford going down and seeing Colorado lose to Colorado State, I have bumped my prediction up to at least 6. Knowing what A&M has to prove I believe their fight alone will guarantee them at least 6 wins this year.
Oh and by the way, A&M 41-NM 6, and not to mention 5 sacks, 3 of them by Von Miller. Not only that, isnt Jarrod Johnson conference leader with 406 yard on an season opener? Oh, and one more thing BTHO t.u. and BTHO Arkansas!!

A couple of stuff u need to know. The OL is a lot better than u think. It's healthy and we have C. Gray at RB along with B. Stephens and Christine Michael who WILL see playing time in 09. In Defense watch for Von Miller who will get plenty sacks and the young and improved defensive back group. yea if you remember in 06 and 07 A&M had really good offensive lineman that's why we rushed for so many yards and in 08 we didn't have a good lineman group so we had to pass more this year I think we can even things out with passing TD's and using gray, stephens, michael, and guyton to get in the endzone
Every program has down years. But the way Sherman is recruiting the aggies will be a powerhouse again in 3-4 years. The aggies are going to be playing a bunch of fish and they dont have the depth needed at certain positions like O-line and D-line. Bottom line is they still wont be very good,but they shouldn't lose 8 games again. They will be 5-7 or 6-6. Best case cenario 7-5. Tech is winnable and Gaylor is grossly overrated. Baylor is Baylor and people are struggling to realize that.
A&M does have weapons on offense, I think he forgot about Cyrus Gray, Bradley Stephens, and incoming freshman, Christine Michael. At tight end, Jamie McCoy is a solid pass catching end. At wideout, A&M brings back Jeff Fuller, who is a pretty good receiver; Tannehill, as well asTerrence McCoy, who has improved over the summer; also I expect a freshman wideout to make an impact as well, maybe EZ or McNeal. The line has by far improved since this past season...I see A&M going 7-5

I think the only ones that are possibly winnable in the South are baylor and tech. Tech's in Lubbock though, so that makes it tougher. Baylor at home is the most winnable game

Because they return 4 of their top ten tacklers? Or because they have 3 different mediocre QBs? Or maybe their holy offensive line that gave up 30 sacks last season? There's a reason they made Missouri their homecoming game instead of A&M

1.K-State, you don't know much about them. Worst pass d in the big 12 last year and gave up 550 yards to the aggies. A&M lost to them the same way we lost to baylor. Turnovers and a beast of a quarterback.
Texas - Now in my normal prediction I'd have A&M losing to this band of misfits from Austin, but this guy's skeezy, snobby northern Texas accent just makes my blood boil. So of all the games that I THINK we lose, this is the one I cant wait to be proven wrong about. I also can't wait for "Cart" McCoy to fail in Aggieland....Again.
Baylor - W , Seriously, Baylor is the overrated mediocre team in the big 12. One good quarterback and a proven linebacker and safety just doesnt match up against Jerrod-Fuller & Associates, a better offensive line, Von, along with a decent group of D-backs. A&M was good in the 50's then Texas then A&M, each team will have a down decade or two, same thing happens with pretty much every team, it happened to OU, it happened to Texas, eventually A&M will be good again.

CU is another toss up but not sure because they should be good but hope they don't fall apart like they have the last 2 years

Kansas State - Understand this, I have no love for CU, OU or Mizzou, but the team I hate the most in the Big 12 is K-State. That said, Snyder is back on their sidelines and he scares the hell out of me. If you lost to a Ron Prince coached team last year, I doubt you beat them with Snyder.
As far as Baylor, they have 16 starters back, you lost to them last year and Griffin is awesome. Briles is turning BU around.
I understand your K-State reasoning, but last year Josh Freeman gave us a beating that made Rihanna jealous. I doubt Coffman does the same. Snyder's a fantastic coach, yes, but he's also been out of the loop. A&M-KState will be a pretty good one, and I think the Aggies CAN win it. Will they? Who knows
And with Baylor, our team was -5 in turnovers in that game. That is a VERY surprising differential, no matter who the opponent is. Playing in Kyle Field will help, and not having to get by Jason Smith will ALSO be a plus. A&M's getting better too. Outside of the Texas, Baylor, and OU debacles, the team progressed throughout the year. If A&M can keep Griffin from going batshit crazy on them, this game can be won.
I'm a Husker alum and fan, and I'm with you 200% on the Colorado prediction, man. I really do think, as much as I hate them as a Husker fan, that they're going to make a move this year. They should have won the Nebraska game last year in our house and here's the thing about Colorado - they get THREE Big 12 North home games this year. A HUGE advantage. I look for them to be tied for second in the N with KU at 5-3. And yes, they will beat A&M.

Here's what I think - A&M will improve. I know that's a simple statement, but I think this team has another year in a system that was completely different from the 07 Fran system, and the offense will show signs of life. You talk about the team's lack of RB's. Cyrus Gray was a solid RB (4.8 Yards per carry, 363 yards) but didn't get many touches. Christine Michael is a five-star recruit who could be powerful enough to gain yards despite our below-average defensive line. Bradley Stephens is ok
Jerrod's improvements will hinge on the offensive line's steps forward. Matt Allen is an LSU transfer who should be decent. Shumard and Matthews are fair OL who were hurt last year). Patterson's a question mark after moving from DL, and Lee Grimes... I must admit, I have no clue. Tannehill is Kerry Meier with more speed. Good hands, good grit, but he's not really a game-changer by any means. Fuller's the best talent at WR, and he pulled in 9 TD despite having the drops all year.He should improve
The defense hinges on the improvements Joe Kines can make with this team. The athleticism is WAY up from last year (hence all the new LBs) which should help them recover from more mistakes, but that youth could lead to more miscues than 08. Miller, Hunter and Pugh are the D playmakers. If the LB core can be an average national corp, then the Ags could have a pretty fair defense. It can't get much worse, can it? ha.
6-6 is possible Baylor lost their best two linemen and they will lose some protection. Tceh is very winnable also No Graham harrel no crabtree behind the secondary. Also Colorado will not be any good. Dan Hawkins is pretty terrible. idk much about Arkansas but they werent very good last year and you can only improve so much. Other than those games i pretty much agree. Mike sherman is getting good recruits so a&m should be good in a couple of years. also dont forget about christine michael at rb.

Arkansas did beat A&M badly, and you said the Aggies would lose at Kansas State- beatdown of biblical proportions.
But you were wrong on the Tech game in Lubbock, the Colorado game, and Iowa State being a close game.

oh this is priceless. dave campbell got the prediction right and this longhorns fan predicted a&m would have the same record as last year. when was the last time A&M had two losing regular seasons in a row? that was a good one. you claimed we hadnt improved. offense improved. it is second only to Texas in the Big 12. it would be even better if our defense got some turnovers to give the o better field position. we scored 9 on yall last year. and 39 on yall this year. thats a 30 point improvement

Eh Aggies got disenchanted with Franchioni. Sherman has built a helluva a team thus far. Beating Tech was huge this year, we blasted them this year convincingly. Well today there were 77,000+ at Kyle, and its the smallest crowd I've seen this season.

Maximum capacity at Kyle Field is 82,000 and the crowds at Kyle Field have been close to that threshold in EVERY game at home this season so far.

Should have worded this better, I see. What I meant was the original insinuation that the boosters weren't giving money and that Kyle isn't attracting fans, etc. "Collapsing under its own weight" as in its an empty shell that just eventually caves in on itself. Not that we don't have lots of folks at games. So yes, sell-out games are cool, but even if we don't have them, I'll take wins in front of 75,000 Aggies. All I was trying to say. honestly, that "in the future" stuff is so overdrawn. You have no way of telling who will want to play for your team in the future and honestly, with Texas owning the state's recruiting, Tech bringing all the good receivers for their system, and TCU bringing in all the good defensivemen, all A&M can hope for are sub-par players who play with heart. That's all they ever get, really. Although Kerry Franks and Jerrod Johnson are BEASTS. But I dont see them being a good team for a LONG time man.

To residentallen: the wins at Kyle field are already hard to come by. Almost every team that has come into Kyle this year has been smashed. The only team to beat the Ags at home this season so far was OSU and they were hanging on by a thread when they weren't losing. I don't know if you saw that game but I can't remember seeing a team get as desparate as OSU did in that game and they're one of the best teams in the nation. He's insane if he thinks Colorado and Baylor will by favorites to win.

Looks like 6-6 is still very viable. Hell, 7-5 is still viable and that's with them not beating Texas or OU. While I agree with your assessment of the D (its still sub-par at best), to say we have no backfield on offense shows lack of knowledge. Read something else next time besides a box score for the basis of your analysis. Ask Tech how our non-existent backfield looked in Lubbock last night.............

I am a freshmen at Cy-Falls highschool in houston, and in the years 2012, 2013 i think we are going to state and going to win and after we graduate most of us want to go to A&M, and when some of us go that will change A&M alot. You might not beleive that but look into us and just see. so when those years come around the Texas A&M will come back. all though an impressive game for arkansas. Georgia's defense has had sub-par performances so far this year.
South carolina and Arkansas ran up a combined 950+/- yards on Georgia... not quite the SEC defense everyone had expected.
While A&M's offense is untested against a strong oponent, it certainly appears impressive at this point in time. this will certainly be a good chance for the young A&M team to show its strength (or lack) and play its first big game of the season.

we will win our first 3 arkansas is a toss up. ok st is a probable loss but a little tiny bit of a toss up because we are playing at kyle fld. k st. is a def. win they suck bad. tech is a toss up. iowa st is a def win. colorado is horrible this year, worse than we were last year. we lose to ou. baylor is overrated and we will beat them (kyle fld) and finally the game against ut, its a 50-50 toss up. hey dumbass. The Arkansas-Texas rivalry wasn't trying to be renewed. They scheduled the renewed rivalry in 2006. And so every year they play at a neutral site. (neutral site is huge to texas since they were bitching about being beat out by OU, but I'm not going there) Texas needs to schedule someone on their non-conference schedule. Still in the rebuilding stages after changing coaches, I still won't say that A&M will win the big 12 south but will have a chance if they still continue their uphill climb. With the young squad they have, if they stay healthy, will have a chance as early as 2010. I will have toot my horn and say that I believe that Mike Sherman has put them on the right track to be a force in the near future. Good Luck to all Big 12 Teams. Hey thanks for the 2009 football predictions. Im an aggie and would like to post my own thoughts. I would agree that last year the aggies did horrible going 4-8. My predictions before the first week of football was putting the aggies at 5-7. However, after watching Sam Bradford going down and seeing Colorado lose to Colorado State, I have bumped my prediction up to at least 6. Knowing what A&M has to prove I believe their fight alone will guarantee them at least 6 wins this year.

yea if you remember in 06 and 07 A&M had really good offensive lineman that's why we rushed for so many yards and in 08 we didn't have a good lineman group so we had to pass more this year I think we can even things out with passing TD's and using gray, stephens, michael, and guyton to get in the endzone

Every program has down years. But the way Sherman is recruiting the aggies will be a powerhouse again in 3-4 years. The aggies are going to be playing a bunch of fish and they dont have the depth needed at certain positions like O-line and D-line. Bottom line is they still wont be very good,but they shouldn't lose 8 games again. They will be 5-7 or 6-6. Best case cenario 7-5. Tech is winnable and Gaylor is grossly overrated. Baylor is Baylor and people are struggling to realize that.

A&M does have weapons on offense, I think he forgot about Cyrus Gray, Bradley Stephens, and incoming freshman, Christine Michael. At tight end, Jamie McCoy is a solid pass catching end. At wideout, A&M brings back Jeff Fuller, who is a pretty good receiver; Tannehill, as well asTerrence McCoy, who has improved over the summer; also I expect a freshman wideout to make an impact as well, maybe EZ or McNeal. The line has by far improved since this past season...I see A&M going 7-5

I think the only ones that are possibly winnable in the South are baylor and tech. Tech's in Lubbock though, so that makes it tougher. Baylor at home is the most winnable game

A&M was good in the 50's then Texas then A&M, each team will have a down decade or two, same thing happens with pretty much every team, it happened to OU, it happened to Texas, eventually A&M will be good again.

To answer your question, here are the other games that A&M "COULD" win...
KSU,
Baylor,
and Iowa St.
CU is another toss up but not sure because they should be good but hope they don't fall apart like they have the last 2 years
and the same for Tech because anybody can play in that Offence but there Defence maybe really bad this year. Then again, we wont know till football season starts

Kansas State - Understand this, I have no love for CU, OU or Mizzou, but the team I hate the most in the Big 12 is K-State. That said, Snyder is back on their sidelines and he scares the hell out of me. If you lost to a Ron Prince coached team last year, I doubt you beat them with Snyder.
As far as Baylor, they have 16 starters back, you lost to them last year and Griffin is awesome. Briles is turning BU around.

I understand your K-State reasoning, but last year Josh Freeman gave us a beating that made Rihanna jealous. I doubt Coffman does the same. Snyder's a fantastic coach, yes, but he's also been out of the loop. A&M-KState will be a pretty good one, and I think the Aggies CAN win it. Will they? Who knows

And with Baylor, our team was -5 in turnovers in that game. That is a VERY surprising differential, no matter who the opponent is. Playing in Kyle Field will help, and not having to get by Jason Smith will ALSO be a plus. A&M's getting better too. Outside of the Texas, Baylor, and OU debacles, the team progressed throughout the year. If A&M can keep Griffin from going batshit crazy on them, this game can be won.

I'm a Husker alum and fan, and I'm with you 200% on the Colorado prediction, man. I really do think, as much as I hate them as a Husker fan, that they're going to make a move this year. They should have won the Nebraska game last year in our house and here's the thing about Colorado - they get THREE Big 12 North home games this year. A HUGE advantage. I look for them to be tied for second in the N with KU at 5-3. And yes, they will beat A&M.
PS - Phil Steele has CU tied for second.

LOL!!! CowboyTD, you are on the money with this. The Gaggies haven't won squat, and will not win squat, especially this season. Texas, Oklahoma and Okie State are going to be battling it out for the South title, so anyone that truly thinks that A&M will be in the mix must have a head injury.
I also agree with you on the Colorado thing. They will have a much improved team, and considering the North comepition, they do have a good chance for that title.

Here's what I think - A&M will improve. I know that's a simple statement, but I think this team has another year in a system that was completely different from the 07 Fran system, and the offense will show signs of life. You talk about the team's lack of RB's. Cyrus Gray was a solid RB (4.8 Yards per carry, 363 yards) but didn't get many touches. Christine Michael is a five-star recruit who could be powerful enough to gain yards despite our below-average defensive line. Bradley Stephens is ok

Jerrod's improvements will hinge on the offensive line's steps forward. Matt Allen is an LSU transfer who should be decent. Shumard and Matthews are fair OL who were hurt last year). Patterson's a question mark after moving from DL, and Lee Grimes... I must admit, I have no clue. Tannehill is Kerry Meier with more speed. Good hands, good grit, but he's not really a game-changer by any means. Fuller's the best talent at WR, and he pulled in 9 TD despite having the drops all year.He should improve

The defense hinges on the improvements Joe Kines can make with this team. The athleticism is WAY up from last year (hence all the new LBs) which should help them recover from more mistakes, but that youth could lead to more miscues than 08. Miller, Hunter and Pugh are the D playmakers. If the LB core can be an average national corp, then the Ags could have a pretty fair defense. It can't get much worse, can it? ha.

6-6 is possible Baylor lost their best two linemen and they will lose some protection. Tceh is very winnable also No Graham harrel no crabtree behind the secondary. Also Colorado will not be any good. Dan Hawkins is pretty terrible. idk much about Arkansas but they werent very good last year and you can only improve so much. Other than those games i pretty much agree. Mike sherman is getting good recruits so a&m should be good in a couple of years. also dont forget about christine michael at rb.
