I agree with everyone, you have to be familiar with mexican culture to fully understand this film. Its another great movie with two great actors who turn out great work everytime they work together. You definetley cant translate it to english it just wouldnt be the same. This is a time where i feel im extremly lucky to speak spanish. I cant wait to see whats next for these guys.

Yeah, the film was very predictable. As soon as Batuta told them that he was a football talent scout, I knew things weren't going to end good. However, it was a very fun movie to watch.

This movie is pure fantasy...I know, I agree that it is a badly made movie, but it is all FANTASY. These things don't really exist in real life and are supposed to be a parody of what really happens in real life, and as in parody, there is comedy. Yeah it's a comedy, but that doesn't mean that it's supposed to make you laugh all the time. It means that Mexico and Mexicans (the ones in Mexico) are making fun of themselves, or just ridiculing stereotypes people may hold about them.

This movie was made pretty much for mexico only, if you like real "mexican" culture from mexico, you will understand it, and love it, its a raw movie that shows the reality of the soccer in mexico, and if you like soccer, you will like the movie even more

.....Also in one of Gael Garcia's movie "Amores Perros" Its translated into Loves' a Bitch" in the movie..actually its a much more complicated title, you just cant translate it into simple words..so that is why it is very difficult to fully understand Mexican flicks because of its distinct culture and its vocabulary..

yea i bought this movie in mexico before it was released here in the states... im from from south texas so im fluent in spanish..so now i have the blu-ray and i continue to watch it without the subtitles...i was hessitant to recomend it to my girl....although she is mexican her spanish is not as fluent as to really understand the culture and the vibe that this great movie is supposed to give... you just cant translate this movie into another language

I love the guy who said he wanted to see more soccer to see what it was like and didn't like the movie because of that.

Uh, the movie was made for a Mexican audience and not for us. Why should they be teaching the people of Mexico about the sport they love? Such American centric attitudes here, I thought this movie was awesome.

I enjoyed the movie very much, and I agree with the comments prior to mine. You'll enjoy it and understand it better being fluent in Spanish and even more so having grown up around Mexican culture. I'd recommend it.

Rotten tomatoes gets a -69 for their review. I agree with a few comments made by people on here, If you are not a fluent Spanish speaking person, don't watch it. And if you do not already have a soccer knowledge background, don't watch it. Overall I would give it a 4/5.

the thing is.... you can't fully appreciate the comedy irony and drama of the movie if you are not mexican or are very close to the regular life here.

From the language they use to some situations that are part of mexican pop-culture that i don't believe are known outside of mexico, all this things make the movie so good.

what?i really disagree , but i guess because im mexican and US people might not get all the irony on it, the language is hilarious, but i cannot belive they said the ending is predictable, is totally inusual,its in the basics predictable, but when you try to explain it its just anti climatic and ironic. i expected a sad ending where they blew it up, but not that way.Other great thing about his movie is the analogies and the narrative, because even if you dont like foot ball this is a great movie

Also this movie was made because 1000s of people go to Mexico city to tryout for soccer teams. but as you can see things don't always go as plan in Mexico City.
