  • Rare and awesome! LONG LIVE RUSH!

  • RUSH ON! BABY!

  • I felt like I was listening to it from the outside of the building...wishing I was inside. Fortunately for you this group rocks either way.

  • Absolute brilliance. Analog kids. Heaps in their wake decades after.

  • what seperates Rush from the rest..is that these guy's are Master Musicians. If this is 1981

then the time period is the "Signals" Tour..I was there in sept 1981 l.a. forum great show. I was only 10 years old, i took my older brother, who didnt know who Rush were? can you believe.. hell never forget!

  • @csny19691 there are no musicians anymore....heck, I don't think there is a guitar player who knows a D from a G chord.

  • At the apex of their trajectory, when they had learnt just enough tech wizardry without it overwhelming. After this, their sound became too electronic-noisy, and they declined IMO. Are they oblivious?

  • @BushBaby1980s idk I like the synth era stuff aka "The Geddy Lee show" haha. What about Presto onwards? what are your thoughts on those albums?

  • This is rush in their anti commercial heyday, the song doesnt start until 2:52,most radio songs have finished by then?

  • @enos218 yes bro !! good comment. i remember those days. kids on the block that only listened to pop music...would be like wtf ?! when i introduced them to rush !

  • @wilbert916 Check out the Ozrics, the ultimate anti corporate but, good band.

  • Saw them I'm Cleveland great show fun night

  • I saw them a year ago and they played the entire moving pictures album. First time I heard them play camer eye live

  • Now a days drumers have it so easy

  • Awesome video! Thanks for sharing with us!!!!

  • The drummer needs to learn to play something he knows...) Sit in front of work and crank this. Your day will shine!

  • It's amazing how intellectual everyone that comments on Rush videos are. AS opposed to other rock bands everything's all "F*** you dirty N***** eat a D***" It sickens me but makes me happy that there are still people that can communicate using words intended to be in the dictionary ahah. Btw, I'm 14 and love Rush and my parents DIDN'T introduce them to me :3

  • Rush is a great band but lets not get carried away...they arnt the best ever. They play really well but I havent met one chick that ever grooved to Rush. Nerds like to jerk off while listening to geddy lees girly voice...just sayin dont be hatein! Lol

  • @JASONCALEDONIA lol i know this is a late comment but i actually met several girls who love rush :D

  • Lol, overdubbed on Red Barchetta

  • Great job on syncing music to video.

  • men, after studyin 3 years of bass, i find so dificult to play their songs!. Because the songs are so long, and i always forget some passage ou the lyrics. Rush music is a lifetime work!

  • Rush kicks butt and screw all you dumb punkrock morons. Nothing beats good rock and role!!!!!!!

  • @trackratt99 Nothing beats good spelling either!

  • Outstanding drummer**

  • @gudatine essence pal x

  • Why one of the best top 5 rock bands of all time isn't even considered to be amongst the top 20?

  • HEY-EVERYBODY/ THAT WAS THE OLD FORUM I WAS THERE SECTION RED 222- ///// AND I WAS SO FUCKIN STONE SMOKIN HASH , WHAT A BUZZZZZZZZ,,,,,

  • Yeah, Rush plays in a very complicated style. But complexity does not automatically mean that the music is good. In fact, I believe it is harder to make good songs for the audience when you have the internal need to compose longer, progressive pieces of music. To me the biggest wonder is how Rush manages to pull it off. Anyone can make a 10-20 minute track with lots of weird parts, but how many can make it interesting to the public? (consider Cygnus X-1 book I for instance)

  • ... I want to be back in the 80's when this was popular and people didn't yell at me whenever I said I love rush!

  • @frankbullit67 Why would anyone yell at you?

  • @superunt43 I don't know...

  • Fantastic!

  • I agree with ecapa0020! Very few bands EVER could hold a candle to Rush!! You may disagree but they are in my top 4 bands of all time...with Led Zeppelin, U2 and The Beatles!! I dare you to come up with a better 4!!

  • @coindude69 If you replaced U2 with Pink Floyd you'd have my top four lol

  • @StratmanHSS ...ok...then id have to add "The Who" and "Boston" to that then!

  • @StratmanHSS I have to admit since being born in 1958 I had the ultimate chance to grow up in the era of many things. I watched Moon landing 1969 in black and white. I have to choose between Alan Parson's project, ELO, Pink Floyd, BTO, and you expect me to choose? I have chosen. Rush is hands down the best band ever to exist.

  • RUSH put the POWER into the power trio.

  • MOVING PICTURES ALBUM NOW ONLY 5$ AT WALMART!!!!!!!

  • @The836812 It should be $99999999999999999999999999999.01 wonderful album!!!!

  • rush = amazing

But, i wonder how many of you are yet into Dream theater.

Dream theater makes this look simple. Not to bash Rush im a huge fan and always have been. I recommend Starting at the cd "train of thought" ...will blow you away.

  • @ToolandMAIDEN14 DT rules but if rush wasnt around there would be no DT and i would say go with awake or metropolis part 2 ... and why is this video a bunh of live footage of diffrent songs?

  • @DRINKSandDRUMS " DT rules but if rush wasnt around there would be no DT" yes there would be. King Crimson also played a pivotal role in their influences.

  • @PrimericanIdol when dream theater joined berklee evcery member of the bands favorite band and biggest influnce at the time were rush if it wasnt for neil peart u wouldnt not hear mike portnoy changing things ever bar thats where he got that from

  • @ToolandMAIDEN14 im a huge fan of both bands.... but saying Dream theater could make Rush look easy... i mean i know Mike Portnoy is the new drummer for A7x, and im a fan of them, he is amazing (R.I.P Rev) but no one can make neil pert look easy.

  • Keep Slappin da Bass!!! Rush rules!!

  • Rush is in a league of its own...........music wise

  • Jesus H fuckin' christ!!

  • It's just a bunch of clips pit together with the song playing in the back ground..........I own exit stage left..........lol

  • For sure TMV is awesome, but I prefer 3 to C&C ;-)

  • Amphitheater, Chicago, IL.? No no no Thats Molson Centre in Montreal !

  • @TheTop10LiST420 the sound is from Chicago, IL.

I mixed the sound with video from the "Exit Stage Left" DVD which indeed is Montreal

  • @ChristellaKury It was recorded at the MONTREAL FORUM in 1981

  • @ChristellaKury but not Molson Centre, that wasn't built until 1996

  • @TheTop10LiST420 This video was indeed shot in Montreal, however it wasn't at the Molson Centre as it had yet to be built, and in a different location no less. The Exit Stage Left video was shot at the Forum, the former home of the Habs.

  • @TheTop10LiST420 would've been the Montreal Forum anyway in 1981.

  • @TheTop10LiST420

It was Le Forunm de Montréal at that time!

  • Wow, great work! Thanks for the post!

  • rush is far and away the best group of all time, no questions asked, no argument.

  • barang langka selagi ada, ya di add :)

  • Bloddy BRILLIANT!!!!

  • i was at the shows in early march at the ampitheatre

there was a banner contest as usual

one of the antinelli brothers won

    i wore a loop shirt

all my friends from school were there

    max webster was there too!

    i still have the t-shirt

i think the ticket was twelve bucks

i went to alpine valley that summer to see this tour

    best band ever

  • Next to Led Zeppelin, RUSH is very very GOOD!!! 2nd best to Zeppelin!!

  • dont know this band really but they influenced les claypool so thats ok with me....groundhogs day primus, check it out if your not already a fan, or any primus will do :D

  • went to this concert freaking awesome memory i will always cherish

  • Thanks for all the new music suggestions. We all got to stick together and support the prog scene so they can continue to entertain us. Cheers!

  • rush is by far the most talented band, best stage show, best guitar drums n bass n singing, superior talent to all.i have rocked all my life n this is the best

  • unfortunately, this video was clipped and pieced together from other live rush videos. check it out carefully. they did a really good job but, there are no known official camera eye videos out there on record. btw, saw rush tonight @ madison square garden tonight. the show was awesome! yes, they played the camera eye in it's entirety.

  • I was like twelve when I first heard this song. It changed my life forever.

  • I remember borrowing this album off my then girlfriends older brother.....twenty five years ago, I never gave it back..... She went about a fortnight after.... Great song from a great album.... Trying to remember that girls name, think his name was Gary or Gerry .... Whatever.... He had some great music!

  • Simply stunning! Its RUSH for jeez sake ! Roll on Dublin next Month Go Geddy!!!

  • Simply stunning ........enough said, cannot wait for Dublin next month ! :) Go Geddy!

  • who the hell can dislike this?!

  • I can't find the words to describe what it's like to watch neil play those drums.

  • im going to see them again manchester arena may 2011 ha ha ha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha ahaahaaha aha aha ahwywww

  • I photographed Rush in 1974 and in 1977. You could see the shots by going to ianmarkmusicphotos (.com)

  • to honest rush is like michael jordan or wayne gretzky, some may be compared but none will be as good

  • Rush really reflects atmospheres in all their songs. This song and "Chemistry" off "Subdivisions " Love it !

  • I was 17 years old in 1981, and Rush was one of my favorite bands (and still are)...this is a fantastic video! Love it! Rush's music I could never get tired of...few contemporary bands could even come close! I can think of a couple, but that's about it...

  • i had the priviledge of seeing them play this song live. i dont know many bands that could have pulled it off

  • no desprective to any other band, but Rush does rule. this song for example, the best drumming, geddy lees voice is golden, and the guitar solo is is amazing

    enough said!

  • lol, love the video editing

  • Where can I find the keyboard part to this in sheet music from. I'm not looking for tab nor a video tutorial of the song, and no piano transcribe. I want the sheet music as if geedy lee played it.

  • Nice Job.

  • I have said this for a very long time and repeat it here: If I were to go to heaven in an instant? I would be standing at the front of the stage at this concert Exit...Stage Left and already be high on the best grass. Watching this concert is my favorite place in all of time!

  • Nice job on the video, ya had me fooled for a minute or two.

  • I could listen to my boys all friekin' night long! Canada's true POWER TRIO!

  • THE BEST power trio.

    Ever.

  • Who is the ugly chick playing bass and singing?

  • @TheCactusjack1 That is Geddy Lee (A BOY!!!) and he is NOT AN UGLY CHICK!!!!!!! He's awsome. RUSH IS THE BEST BAND EVER!!!!

  • @LennonsMusic Wow, she's really ugly! Too bad she can't sing very well.

  • This is my buddy's recording. He set his recorder/mics next to a main that no one was near and left it there to then go enjoy the show. Thanks for the video.

  • Jesus i love Rush.

  • I was at this show! awesome

  • First off great video and great song! Secondly popular music does suck, but there is still plenty of good instrumental and pro rock out there for you. Dream Theater should be obvious, but there are plenty more like Frost, Riverside, Porcupine Tree, Transatlantic, Oceansize, Opeth...the list goes on. Point is the music us out there but nowadays we need to go find it rather than waiting for it to find us via the radio. Find these bands that still care about creativity and emphasize musicianship

  • @psychofunksoldier02 This is the best comment I have seen posted here in a long time. Don't forget that Rush at their height were up against some of the worse music (and musicians) in the history of music.

  • @ChristellaKury like?

  • @jarvisthebox Think of any band who relied on big hair, spandex or face paint and you'll get my drift. Then there was the spate of music that relied on a synth, one finger and a lyric like "dont you want me oh oh oh".

  • @ChristellaKury Ha Ha---I'm seeing Rush tonight... and I first saw them in 1977 too, so I think that qualifies me as a fan, but I'll tell you that I love Kiss and Alice Cooper too! It's the majesty of rock, if you get my drift.

  • @ChristellaKury Like Kiss, van halen, poison, motley crue.... O.o Im not sure what you're getting at here.

  • @ChristellaKury

I love Rush but I do like the Human "don't you want me" League too lol there is far "worse" music than that especially nowadays

  • @AldorleaGames And these are 3 of the nicest guys who ever lived.

  • @jarvisthebox Rush released this album on 1981, rick astley released "Never Gonna Give You Up" on 1987. Yeah, there was some crappy music

  • @psychofunksoldier02 Frost is probably my favorite modern Prog band besides Dream Theater. Not to many people know about them.

  • @psychofunksoldier02 Don't forget Ayreon and Nightwish also!

  • @psychofunksoldier02 Don't forget more modern bands like Junius, Cave In. Muse ect ect.

  • @psychofunksoldier02 floodwire

  • @psychofunksoldier02

    HELL YES

  • @psychofunksoldier02 Even if you don't like them The Mars Volta and Coheed and Cambria are great too.

  • @psychofunksoldier02

Frost, Riverside, Oceansize, listening to them and loving it, thanks!!!

  • @Celibatteur Awesome!!

  • @psychofunksoldier02 Who the hell is Calderone? Sorry, being sarcastic.

  • this is back in the day when performers had to actually sing and play their own insturments!! nowadays its lip synching and no insturments just jumping around stage acting like a moron, its a sad commentary on where we are in american music culture, fake rock stars in an ever declining american culture.thanks eminem

  • This is actually sad to listen to because we'll never see such excellent, strong instrumental rock ever again. Today's music is total mindless crap compared to stuff like this, and it's only going to get worse. Music is DYING and wil be replaced by other forms of entertainment like the Internet and video games.

  • @tonusaitis I beg to differ, though I agree the music of the present is not what I wish it was. I am in a band, maybe I'll change that future.

  • @tonusaitis ....So...enjoy the heavenly video-music as long you can see and hear....

  • el audio no suena bien!!!!

  • In 2011 Rush will play "Camera Eye" live, they perform the complete "Moving Pictures" album on stage. I think it`s one of their best songs, in a row with "YYZ", "Red Barchetta", "By Tor and the snow dog" and "Lakeside Park".

  • Love those red TAMA superstars....bring them back!!!

  • True master of math rock!!! I bow down to you!!!!

  • Great ver. of Camera Eye! thank you!

  • No, Neil is the one who writes the song, remember he is the lyricist of the band.

  • Tempo is a little hurried at 5:37

  • RIGHT LET'S STOP MESSING ABOUT!!

Try playing Lee's bass lines (and singing) simultaneously, Lifeson's guitar riffs/arpeggios and solos, and finally Peart's syncopated drum rhythms. None of the above is easy to perform.

The "musicians" in many of the so-called bands of today would be completely and utterly out of their depth i.e. bands like say McFly or U2. Rush's complicated awesome music could well be described as being on a "timeless wavelength"!!

    Does anyone else agree?

  • @ecapa0020 --------I agree>>>>you forgot to addd that on top of singing and bass, Lee also plays keyboard/ organ and writes the music. One of the most talented bands in the world !!

  • I agree brother

  • @ecapa0020 I wholeheartedly agree

  • @ecapa0020 Who are U2?

  • @ecapa0020 Yes man. They were ALWAYS ...MUSIC FIRST. It makes it timeless. The only thing that will ever "date " Rush are Alex's haircuts and his ties. Which he really sported because of his great sense of humour.

  • @ecapa0020 yeah but you really cant knock out U2... they've done some equally amazing stuff, albeit not as technically profficient as Rush...

  • It's good.. better than watching a blank screen or a collage of pictures... great sound quality for this boot too....

  • Can't Wait To See This Song Performed Live In April...One Of My Favorite Songs From My Second Favorite Band...

  • The audio is no doubt Rush. Work well done Christellakury. Thank you!!

  • this is my most faved rush anthem

  • the guys are a lot skinnier too lol

  • wow-what a flashback-in 81 ppl were still dressing in the 70's, & the guitars weren't CORDLESS! lol

    god footage!

  • nice audio, but hey...they play it so much better these days...they really seem in a hurry in the second half of the song.

  • Probably been mentioned but that is a video collage of the entire Exit...Stage Left concert with clips apparently taken from several songs. I see Red Barchetta and The Trees immediately. The sound is interesting and sounds period correct however. I always gauge by the synth sounds, Al's guitar sounds, and the stage of Ged's voice. You can just about tell what period it's from with those three factors.

  • When driving across country, I remember having this song on my walkman back in 1983 when the guy I was driving with tapped me on the shoulder and said "look over there" as I saw the 2 world trade centers and part of the other Manhattan skyline just as the part of "Streets of Manhattan" line came on.. No lie. I've never been to new york since. actually we never went into the city, we were stuck on the Jersey side.

  • GREAT TRY, YOU MUST LOVE RUSH LIKE ALL OF US !

  • My god, look at the boys. I'm a teen again... THX.

  • @THEPOCONOJOECHANNEL I did!! I was 20 rows from the stage and reveling in every moment of seeing Alex, Geddy and Neil!

  • I saw this live. I feel special.

  • Too good.

  • This video is a fake but a very good one nie job on the Edit

  • fantastic ghetto music viedo

  • What a great clip. Always wondered what that song sounded like live. I felt ripped off when watching the "Exit Stage Left" video where they cut it off after the intro... and it wasn't on the album either. All the Exit Stage Left video is such crap... even if there was an "official" release of the video, I'm sure it would look just like this. Great Job.

  • awsum tune

  • in twenty ten time machine

    bubba chile miners mean so

    focused to that carmen mirada

    dragon den

  • @ePhilosopher9 Why do post this nonsense on here all the time?

  • Thanx for posting this! I never knew there was a live recording of this...and this is from that period as well. I got to see them on MP tour on back-to-back nights at the ol' Cap Centre in Largo, MD so long ago and they didn't play it then. VERY COOL!!

  • Rush fucking rules. There's really no getting around that fact.

  • heh..the amp....RIP. First show there for me was Sabbath with 10 years after opening. We sat so far back I think we were out on halsted. Didnt matter. Was live, it was Heaven and Hell tour, all was right with the world.

  • RUSH will regin 4ever in some spirit way even after there dead because these 3 legends will never burn out or fade cuz there badass as hell, plain and simple

  • Very good but the title should be more honest. I just saw them in Dallas "really" play this and people went crazy! I thought I was the only one who loved it. But before Time Machine, they never played it live.

  • I feel like this song was MEANT to be played live. Don't get me wrong the original recording is amazing, but just the growl of Geddy's bass in concert really puts the icing on the cake for this song. It must have been one of my favorites at the concert in Tampa this weekend.

  • Great edit job!

  • Best band ever...

  • Comment removed

  • I seen them 30 years ago in 1981 and then here again in Pittsburgh, PA. on September 16,2010 They are better than ever they sounded close to perfaction at the new Consol center here thanks for posting

  • I've been a Rush fan since the 7th grade, which was over 30 years ago. I'll finally get to see them live this Sunday. Very excited!!

  • Maybe Im a fucking weirdo, but this was always my favorite track on the album

  • I GOT A FREAKING SIGNED PICK FROM ALEX LIFESON!
