After living a very sinful life for decades I became convicted of my sins & began to live for JESUS. After hearing ADRIAN teach one Sunday about those who were "living in sin" the Lord moved upon my heart & I married my girlfriend & made her my cherished wife. Been married over 13 yrs thanks to Adrian's sermon. I weep often over Adrian's passing because he meant so much to me (still does). I'll see you one day dear Adrian with our beloved JESUS.
What a Great Man of God; I'll never forget his support of Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, where I graduated with a Master's Degree in Divinity back in 2000. God bless Pastor Rogers' Widow, the rest of his family, and Bellevue Baptist Church.
GOD Bless Adrian's Widow, his family, and the rest of Bellevue Baptist Church. As a Graduate w/Master's In Divinity at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary (now just across from the Church), I'm amazed and pleased at Dr. Rogers' support and full commitment to our Seminary. What a wonderful Man of God.
I Love adrian Rogers so much he was such a great man of GOD his words was such a wonderfull way of preaching to my life and i love being a child of GOD and i tell you what adrian rogers was so great and i allways listen to him every sunday night i just love adrian rogers very much
so when he passed away to be with the LORD then heaven just became more and more wonderful and more beautifull.
No. I am a member there. It is a Southern Baptist Church. And a wonderful one. I miss Dr. Rogers so very much. Brother Steve is very good, too. But I really miss Dr. Rogers.
@oldozziedave: "Is it an "independant" baptist church??" Nope, Bellevue Baptist of Memphis is Southern Baptist as they come. Dr. Rogers was a past President of the SB Convention, elected more than once and led the denomination through a couple of tough periods of upheaval... specifically putting down "moderate revolts" looking to steer the SBC to more liberal theology. Still, he was not "political" in nature and treated everyone he came in contact with in a loving and respectful manner.
I was still a heathen little crackerhead when Pastor Rogers died, but I was saved 3 months later and I think he's one of the best preachers still on the air.
Adrian was truly a fisherman for the Lord. He earned many crowns. I grieve a little bit each Sunday morning for the passing of this beautiful man of God but then I remember that Adrian is in the presence of Jesus Christ whom he loved so much. I suspect that very soon we'll be snatched up into the clouds to meet the Lord because the Beast is about to enter the world scene. Pray for your lost family and friends to be saved and escape the "hour of trial" that is approaching.
I agree that we should pray for our family-everyone in fact. However, we do not know when Christ will return. Christ does not even know when the Father will send Him back! We do not know when the Beast will rise up, and people have been saying that Christ will "come back soon" for years. People's death may come sooner than Christ's return!
At times, as I listen to a sermon being rebroadcast on TV, I think Dr. Rogers must be happy he said this while preaching. He was a great pastor, preacher and Christian. I am happy his testimony lives on. May God bless his dear family.
I know beyond the shadow of any doubt that without the late Adrian Roger's passionate and convicting preaching, my life would be totally different. His sermons brought me to where I am now. What an incredible man of God!
Dr. Adrian Rogers is missed and thank God for his legacy. I just want to say that Dr. Steve Gaines has picked up the torch and is charging on for Christ. Just pray for him and Bellevue daily! God is so good!
SIMPDUDE: I'm sorry you misread my comment. Go back and see that I acknowledged Adrian Rogers WAS on TBN, but that TBN didn't have him (from a perpective of the Word-Faith teachers).
Adrian Rogers along with James Merritt are one of the few bright spots of sound doctrine on TBN.
Dr. Adrian Rogers is one who followed God will all his heart. He is an examlpe for us the Baptist believers everywhere. I pray that this sermon reach every sincere believer to keep the Baptist Church - God's Body - unified in the name of Jesus our Lord.
Dr. Rogers gave a huge boost to all of us who love anointed expository biblical preaching. His genuine, consistent care for the local church and his clear, unwavering commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ was always refreshing to hear. Glad we have Dr. Rogers on video - these clips are a treasure. Thanks...
With all the disappointing & unsound doctrines you here from many mega-church preachers & teachers is was so refreshing to hear rock-solid exposition of scripture from this man. He had the big church & TBN airtime, but TBN didn't have him. You didn't hear the typical "primetime prophecies" from him as you did the others. Reminded me of Billy Graham.
Dr. Rogers is one of my all time favorite Pastors, what a heart for God he truly has. He is one in a million. I will miss his sermons. I`ll just keep watching reruns if I have to. God bless you all.
He's one of the BEST i mean BEST teachers EVER. His older sermons come on around 1am and when i hear it I always wake up, and end up listening.
I love this man and I pray he is resting peacefully until our Lord Jesus Christ returns.
Thank you Adrian.
