It's true that the Japanese pronounce it "pokAYmon" but in America, we usually screw up the Japanese pronunciation and Americanize it to "pokEmon" or "pokEHmon." In the original anime series (the English dub with Veronica Taylor), Ash did pronounce it "pokAYmon"; in the newer series, with a new voice actor and such, I notice he pronounces it "pokEHmon." However, the "AY" in Japanese isn't accented as harshly as Cole and Dylan say it here, so this can be considered a noob way of saying it.
